Just because I want Bioware to read about all the FUN to be had with custom classes on a regular basis, I'm going to let you all know about a custom class I played with over the weekend.

It's a close-range assassin class of the Sentinel variety (jack-of-all-trades).  You just might call it a Sentinel Assassin:

Tactical Cloak
Nova
Dark Channel
Defensive Matrix
Cryo Ammo
Concussive Blast
Bonus Power: Decoy

This class is designed for slipperiness and survivability.  You don't really have any great direct damage abilities, aside from Nova.  This isn't an ideal situation for most classes, but you have the unqiue ability to sneak in, deliver significant damage, and then sneak out.  The usual MO:

1) "Mark" your first target with Dark Channel.
2) Cloak and make your way to your target.  Nova him for a nice damage-filled biotic explosion.
3) As Nova acts like a grenade power, it doesn't count as an attack that disables cloak.  Deliver another Nova blast if you have shields remaining, and then run away!

Cryo Ammo and Concussive Blast are combat abilities meant to help the delay or stun opponents while you beat a hasty retreat.  Decoy also helps in this regard, while also distracting opponents to help you isolate targets while in assassination mode.

Defensive Matrix's shield-restoring ability is there to help offset the risk involved in depleting your shields while delivering Nova attacks.  In some situations, you may feel that it's worth it to recharge your shields after using Nova to allow for a maximum of 4 Nova attacks before your Cloak deactivates.

Also, it's great fun to mark a target with Dark Channel, run up and kill him with Nova, and then run to the next marked target and Nova him before your Cloak ends.  Biotic explosions for everyone!

Played through much of Omega on this build and had a blast!

Did you mod to replace the class's powers, or did you simply add in extra powers and try not to use the current powers?

I just added in the new powers and removed all points from the other ones. There is no way to replace your class powers outright, unfortunately. Also, any power that you add that isn't also a bonus power gets wiped out after you load a new area or a savegame.

Tactical Cloak
Nova (Half-Blast, Chance Barrier Usage Spec)
Reave (Radius)
Dark Channel
Defense Matrix (Shield Restoration Spec)
Adrenaline Rush
Ammo Power (Preferably Incendiary Ammo)

Haven't tried this build myself yet, but in theory, sounds like it would be an extremely powerful build. This build is similar to yours, but allows for more damage output if you coordinate your skills correctly. This build works best with the Claymore shotgun.

Dark Channel any enemy, then run up to them with Cloak and Nova them for a biotic explosion. At this point, you have multiple choices
1. Use Reave to re-prime the enemy and detonate with Nova (Half-blast) for another biotic explosion
2. Purge Defense Matrix to restore shields and escape safely
3. Fire a Claymore shot in the enemies face, and activate Adrenaline Rush to automatically reload your weapon, allowing for a quick follow up shot

All of these actions should be done during the duration of Cloak to maximize damage and minimize cooldowns.

Been trying another build, a Jack-of-all-trades Sentinel build that has heavy emphasis on rapid power combos.

Sentinel Commando:

Incendiary Ammo
Disruptor Ammo
Cluster Grenade
Dark Channel
Throw
Cryo Blast
Tech Armor

Super fun! It's great for very fast-paced gameplay. Player's are encouraged to heavily multitask - "paint" various enemies with your Ammo powers, Dark Channel or Cryo Blast first. Then, Throw to detonate between gunbursts to trigger a colorful variety of Biotic and Tech Explosions. Cluster grenades are also there for those useful occasions in which you have a group of enemies that are all primed for Tech, Biotic or any combination of detonations.

This is potentially a very aggressive and active build for people that are fans of power combos (as I am). And, IMO, reasonably balanced.
