Game of your childhood

I remember sitting out in the cold room where we had our computer, playing endlessly way past my bedtime, hoping nobody would notice that I was still up. My feet got really numb in winter.

This jumped into my mind, earliest self owned game i remember playing.
Hahah I used to love this game so much! The cheats alone were worth buying it (like the Silly Shooting and the fast talking cheat)!

Still love the both of them.
From my pre-teens well into my late teens was this:

To this day I've never replayed a game as many times as this one.

Stunt Island: Old flight game for DOS in the 486 era. Introduced me to flying, games in general, and programming. (It had a mode where you could set up cameras and triggers with somethind very much like BASIC and shoot little films. This turned out to be very useful when I took Visual Basic freshman year in high school, and later when I wanted to program my Ti-83 calculator with games and math programs.)
Robert E Lee, Civil War General: Introduced me to strategy gaming.
Alpha Centauri: Introduced me to the idea of story telling in games, tought be to be a sneaky ******* and was just plain awesome (I still play it).
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: My first console game and first RPG game. Before that I only played strategy and flight games.
Riven: The first of the Myst games I ever played, and my introduction to one of the greatest series of all time.
Morrowind: My introduction to open world games, the Elder Scrolls, and modding.
EDIT: I should point out that I wasn't really a "child" anymore when I played Morrowind, but no matter.

I should've added that along with the Original Myst. The 3rd and beyond not quite to the same degree, but you can't go wrong with the first 2.Riven
My dad and I used to play that, but probably not quite enough times for it to be our favorite. Most of the board games my family enjoys are modern ones like Cranium.Chess
I missed another one....no question about it, quite a legacy it holds.Full Throttle

I even considered becoming a farmer just because of how much I enjoyed this game. Note I was quite young when I played this.

Since Engrish is not my first language, 10-11 year old I was I did not understand all that much...but mood was memorable in that game. Certain sections scared the heck out of me too, then - the Butcher, Caves-soundtrack. Good kind of scare.

GOMC has to Ocarina of Time, I spent so many days exploring the secrets of Hyrule.
I'll never forget one of my proudest moments as a chisler, this was before the internet, and before I could purchase strategy guides. Crafting Biggoron's sword in LoZ: OoT.
By God it was feat, so many different things you had to do, with no real indication as where to start looking. But I got those eyedrops, and Big Goron did his thang and crafted me the most powerful weapon in the game. Gannondork didn't stand a chance.

I'm going to add one: Super Smash Bros(Series). My family and I played such an absurd amount of that game in the first 2 versions, I'd be hard pressed to say I don't smile at the sight at that game. It always provided me a chance to rile up my brother after beating him by saying:
"...you're not going to let evil win, are you?"
He then proceeds to get all huffy and try to beat me. On some rare ocassions, he's succeeded. Sheik/Zelda makes for one hell of a vicious combo.
