If it was because of videos done, then I think the ppr and harrier would have been nerfed long ago. Just pick a different weapon and don't be so dependent on one weapon. Problem solved. People need to stop complaining about nerfs, it keeps the game fresh.

When I PUG, 50% of the time I see someone rockin an assault rifle, shotgun, or sniper all the while having the Acolyte as a secondary weapon.

Also, to blame Cain for the nerf is completely disrespectful and uncalled for, OP.

 OP, I can tell you the one, single reason the Acolyte will be nerfed.  It has nothing to do with anyone using it too well or too many people using it overall.  The one reason is...I just unlocked it last night. I don't know how I first angered the programming gods but they have set upon me the curse of unlocking good weapons only days or hours before they are nerfed.

clearly, what the OP actually means is that they would rather the acolyte doesn't get nerfed, and anyone who isn't Caineghis2500 should get a buff? Or is that one jumped conclusion too far?

By the same logic as applied in the original post, if I post a large number of video's of me sucking, royally, with a random weapon or kit, I could possibly influence the dev's to buff it?

I'm not sure why you felt it necessary to target another player in this way, and personally I think it's pretty abusive, and demeaning to the achievements of another player.

It's also pretty rude about the dev's too, in that you insinuate that they don't spend time playing like us, monitoring server logs and working at balancing issues and instead choose to watch random youtube video's for idea's on what to mess around with next.

So Caineghis uses the acolyte in his vids, that's his personal preference and perrogative. It's probably not the "secret to his success", and I'm sure he can be just as effective with other pistols if/when he feel's like it. Personally I can't stand the acolyte and I find it weak as hell, but I quite frequently called a glitcher or hacker for rocking it with an Avenger X and outscoring random pugger's, and I think we can all agree the Avenger X is definitely not OP, I just happen to be good with, and prefer using AR's. Different horses for different courses.

Eventually it was guaranteed that some item/weapon/kit Caineghis used in a platinum solo vid was going to be the target of a nerf. Does that mean that any nerf the shield booster V gear or cyclonic mod II (used in his latest vid, for example) receive in the future are his fault too? I sincerely doubt it.

Op, i don't know if you're jealous, have some grudge against caineghis, or are just lashing out at the first target you could find, but your conclusions and reasons for starting this thread are messed up.

The reason everyone uses the Acolyte is not because it's overpowered, it's because all the other rare/uncommon pistol weapons are pure garbage. Bioware nerfed the Carnifex into the trash bin and the Arc Pistol is still underwhelming. So if you don't have an ultra-rare N7 pistol you're pretty much SOL.

There are simply too many bad rares now thanks to power creep. Bioware needs to bring up the old rares to match the Acolyte instead of bringing the Acolyte down into the mud.

I'd still play with you if I saw you in a party. People know that gun got way too overused. Last night I recall seeing an Asari Sentinel with an Avenger X & Acolyte X in Gold. It just seemed like this gun reached critical mass for me at that point

Writing was on the wall. Stim pack nerf was apparent day 1. Acolyte nerf- honestly I didnt see it comming the day they removed the charge feature. But I knew it was a bad idea for them to remove the charge just to stop missile glitching.
