Here's the thing. When the acolyte required a charge, I saw a player using the Human Soldier with Acolyte X, (EB, ExMag) with cryo ammo 3 destroy the Reapers. I think I was a TSent with an Indra and by wave 5 he had the most points. The second place player had half his points, which was where I was at. I couldn't kill things fast enough. He seemed to be using Adrenaline rush the entire match with the occasional concussive shot.
As for the "nerf' I think it's going to probably be a weight increase. Even if they "lower" the damage, ammo powers can compensate. I hope it's going to be more of a Carnifex nerf than a Kyrsae nerf.

I think they should but the charge mechinism back onto it. Before when the gun had to charge to shoot ppl thought it was a crappy gun becuase they didnt know how to use it. Now its being over used by every one now bc now they can shoot it with out worrying about the charge. Acolyte use to be about skill and timing now idk

blame the boogeyman for your precious noob gun being nerfed, its not like everyone was using this weightless gun that can strip any bosses shields barriers in two shots and still do great damage rendering every other pistol obsolete since they changed the charge mechanic.

I wasn't going to chime in, but screw it, I will. Do I blame the person in question for the nerf, NO. Did his videos show people how to use it effectively, YES. So then others started using it more. But I think people were using it before he posted the videos. I love the acolyte, but I am lucky to get 25 kills with it because I only care to use it for shields and freezing mooks. Powers and other weapons are what I prefer to use to kill the enemy with. Damage nerf is fine as long as it's main function of shield stripping stays somewhat intact. OP, don't lash out at someone because he uses a once "deemed" crap gun effectively. Would you still lash out if you never used the Acolyte?

The Acolyte still requires skill, it no longer has a "charge mechanic" per se, but it doesn't fire immediatley. More like the Javelin's firing mechanic.
So timing shoots are still necessary. If anything they might change the mag capacity to something like 1 or 2 max with mag mod, so players can't spam it. Shooting it would require a little more brain power.

To be honest I love Caineghis and his videos but it's kinda true... He shows people how to beat platinum without much effort with this gun.
And I didn't see many other players use this gun too much on PC. Still, they use it very rarely.

Bioware don't forget to nerf the Geth Trooper, the Flamer, Firebase Giant and the escort drone maybe.
Also please buff Banshees, Phantoms, Geth Hunters, Brutes and both Prime's turret and drone.
Oh, and add 3 waves to Platinum solo attempts.
