I actually wouldn't mind Alec Newman (who did Sebastian and Senechal Bran) to voice the male main protagonist. At all. :-D

As long as it's not Jamie Glover, because his voice stands out like a sore thumb.

Facepalm! Assassin's Creed 's Desmond and Drake from the Uncharted games. He would be most welcomed in Dragon age 3.

He is certainly a good actor, however his voice is easily recognizable. Especially when you compare him to someone like Jennifer Hale.

I didn't even know that he voiced the Penguin in Arkham City when I first played it, so he's definitely capable of providing a good range of acting.

I had never heard of him either until this thread. I don't play a lot of different games. However, I do see that he will be on this week's episode of Haven, so I'll keep an eye (and ear) out for him.

He actually kind of looks like a younger Owain, with hair. Also, some of those voices are quite varied. The difference between Godwin, Eirik, and various dwarves is pretty severe, not to mention Owain's monotone voice.

As his page on TV Tropes notes, he does have range. He just gets asked to do the "Nathan Drake" voice all the time.

I was impressed with his work in Spec Ops: The Line.

Jennifer Hale is the female Nolan North.

Both voice actors are fantastic.
Both voice actors are roughly the same age.
Both voice actors are everywhere.
Both voice actors have already had long prolific careers.

Most people don't know who Nolan North is.
He may be well known to some gamers, but to the average joe, well let's just say the average Joe hasn't even heard of Uncharted.

Where I'm from the average joe can't afford video games, HD television, laptops, iPads etc.
Lots of people haven't even heard of a games console.
There are a lot of people in my home town who consider the internet to be nothing more than pornography.

So don't be too surprised when people don't know who some guy who is only fameous in gaming circles.

1) Ruck, the ghoul dwarf merchant in the middle of nowhere Deep Roads (infinite source of 'shrooms).
2) That one mage guy in the Circle Tower hiding in the closet and involved in Lyrium smuggling.

Yes, even the Dragon Age franchise has been graced by North's presence.

He's a great actor, but I am just so sick of his voice... it's everywhere, and it's almost always the same Drake voice. If he did some background dialogue, that would be fine... but if he's using the Drake voice, the conversation better not last more than a minute. Or I might cry. Or something.

He's a good voice actor and I really do enjoy his voice. But he's already voicing main characters in other games AND pretty well known/recognizable and as such I really wouldn't want him to voice the protagonist but instead a few (relatively unimportant) side characters like he has before

His voice isn't instantly recognizable for me. On the other hand someone like Steve Blum is instantly recognizable. Nolan is actually pretty good at disguising his voice; Owain, Godwin, Eirik, Seweryn, Ruck, etc. don't really sound anything alike IMO.

Absolutely. I also loved his performance as defective turrets and the space cores in Portal 2. One of the funniest game performances I've ever heard.
