I would much rather get an expansion every few months than a single sequel every 2-4 years ... I've played the first story through and now want to continue the adventures of my character, not have to wait and hope that'll be possible in years to come.

I agree.

Yeah I have to agree with some of the above posts on expansions........ I'd rather a bunch of expansions every couple of months than 3 years between. I think the witchy romance is one of the most involved, heart breaking romances in any RPG to date and it'd be a shame to wait a zillion years to resolve it. I'm just hoping future romances with Morrigan won't result in her waltzing around adventures sans bra and then putting on one before a tent scene again :P

Since it dosen't say it's an old party member or companion, that "old favorite" might not be a former companion but an ncp from DA:O that decides to join you ... Or maybe I missed something?

Sorry if this has been discussed alredy.

Don't suppose we know if there's a collector's edition planned for this? Just a thought, I've seen other games do that (collector's eds on expansions).

Forgive me! my post might be a little bit off topic, but i truly need
an expert's advice, given this forum might be the latest and most
active one.

******SPOILER*******

I had a HUGE crush on Morrigan right after her offer!! i guess the
challenge and mystery did the tricks once again. But in the end, i did not get  "there came a night when he was
sure that she was thinking of him... somewhere. She felt regret, and
sorrow. But the ring told no more."
in the epilogue.  i was somehow ultimately screwed!! i don't know why, since i had done, i think, all i needed:

1) i killed flemeth and gave her the Grimorie and kept her 100% approval (love) throughout the game

2) one night, she initiated "love" disccusion with me and admitted her fear of her affection towards me and warned we both will regret.

3) she stopped coming to my tent...

4) Wynne apologized, since she saw morrigan sometimes smiled to herself while watching me and admitted there was a connection between us

5) i got her ring and weared it all the way. Never took it off.

6) the ritual night, she said " come, my love..."

7) right before the final battle with archdemon, she said "i will be always remembering you, my love"

What did i miss there?? that saying in epilogue is my ultimate paid-off, but i see no reason why i cannot have it this time through... please help!

I have no idea, didn't romance Morigan, but I feel for you. When the quote at the end discussing Leliana states we traveled and adventured by each other's side ... at least for a time, I was heartbroke! How could we possibly break up? Our characters were perfect for one another! I bet she left me for Zevran! I knew I never should have invited him to travel with us.

@the old god child:

I made the same choices as you. What do you mean by 'What did i miss there?? that saying in epilogue is my ultimate paid-off, but i see no reason why i cannot have it this time through... please help!'

Do you mean, why'd she leave anyways? Because if you did, she's pretty open about saying early on that the PC and her relationship would end up bad. Also, there are a ton of hints that she's got something else she needs to get done (ie. make god babies) but since you romanced her well, she thinks about you with regret and sorrow for taking off.

Thanks for help! i was wondering why i did not get the quote in the epilogue saying "through the ring, she was thinking of me and feeling regret and sorrow"... that,at least, warms my heart a bit after she took off... i wonder if i missed something, or i did something wrong..

I don't want to read through 109 pages, so has this been answered: does it make any difference if you import your character from the Epilogue (Post Campaign) save or the Post Coronation save? Logically you haven't gone through the actual ending in the Epilogue save, so I wonder...

Don't know if this has been answered already, but what does the character import do as far as companions from Origins? If you romanced one of the other characters in Origins, and they stayed with you after the final battle, will they appear or accompany you in Awakening?

I've got some questions about the expansion as well...

Are we getting a new romance option in Awakening?

How much disc space (360) is this sucker going to take up? I'm assuming it's going to be an install job, and then you just use the regular DA disc when playing.

Same story, I wonder If I missed a vital dialogue or whatnot.

I may be wishing for something that will never come, but I would like to see improvements to the way to game plays on the consoles. There's some things about playing it on 360 that are a huge pain, espescialy if you want to effect the storyline by fighting tacticly in battles.

IE: A more organized method of codex management, maybe a fifth overhead view of the party, that kind of thing.

In regards to the comment about expansions - I absolutely agree. Having an expansion every few months keeps the game from becoming old or stale. If I had to wait a few years for a sequel, I honestly would care a whole lot less. As long as DLCs, decent mods, and expansions are released every now and then, I'm satisfied :)

Does anyone have any thoughts on Oghren as the returning character since the black marsh trailer? And Anders, what an awesome companion.

Thats what I am thinking.  That it won't be any of your Origins party members.    Hence the title Awakening. :)

@ gentleman caller: i wondered that myself, and if not, i hope there is a good reason why leliana won't be returning, i want to know more about her "past" as a bard, and if it is as "varied" as zevran's.

Huzzah on the returning companion probably being Oghren. He was my otherwise uptight Templar's main source of good humor, as I did the Deep Roads first for a challenge and used him start to finish.

I'm guessing Awakening will be much like ME2 in that you will primarily only see your old love interests and friends as background characters who won't be traveling with you for one reason or another. I do hope they won't make the characters as cold to you as they were in ME2, as I'd hate to have Leliana and Zev snubbing me.

As for Alistair and the kingdom ... that will almost certainly depend upon the info you import from the first game, but I doubt it will have much of an impact, just as whether or not you saved the council in ME didn't have a huge impact on the sequel but was referenced in conversation a number of times and had some minor impact to let you know it hadn't been completely overlooked.

***SPOILERS***

Yeah same here. Although the big diff is in ME2 you die and come back (which might be off putting to old flames I'm guessing, Image IPB) and in DA:O is you died you aren't coming back which I'm hoping = Old flames and friends are more happy to see my character! Well, except Morrigan of course...... I'm secretly hoping they keep her tragic, or at the very least swing her into a murky dark grey zone morally and we have to save her somehow.......

I think I recall BioWare saying that there is no canon ending. Maybe I'm wrong. Though it would make sense that there might be a default ending when you start Awakening. Still, I'm not sure if a default ending counts as canon. We'll just have to see.
