In the awakening trailer, alistair said, "I'd rather miss the darkspawn killing thing", so i guess he is the one companion?

That quote is probably taken out context. There is alot that can come before or after that statement.

I have read a lot of the comments on the different threads here. I don’t know if I am restating what has been said by someone else.



Companions:

How do we know that Oghren is the companion? Couldn’t it be the returning companion is…. A. Whoever you choose to continue your adventure with. OR B. Whoever you ended up with the highest relationship score (not including Morrigan)?



King or Queen:

As for Alistair being King…. That scene could have easily been Anora (depending on the player’s ending), but the humor wouldn’t have been there for the trailer.





No matter the length, I’m sure it will been just as fun and absorbing as Origins.

I hate to say that, but, i don't think we will find morrigan in this expansion pack since the story does not fit her reappearance... though i do want to see some hints about her. Unlike others, my feeling about her promise is kind of more positive, due to her name, Morrigan, a name after the celtic goddess of battle, death, justice and passionate love. Morrigan, meaning "great queen" in Irish, is a shapeshifting powerful witch in celtic legends. she will revenge anyone who dare turn down her offer of love, but will aid the one whom she loves in the battle. it sounds to me that the dark promise may allow her to have the power of the old god somehow and eventually make her a goddess herself. For people romanced her, this may not be a bad thing...  But this is just my feeling...

I suppose new chat/story options for ALL the old companions seems a bit much- but I hope they make appearances here and there, and that a few like Dog go through to the expansion.

(I am also pleased with the release date- people say it was rushed, but I think they had an early start on it and just didn't tell anyone...Hope it isn't massively extended like the recent DLC was)

i think morrigan will play i small part in the expansion but i also think it will be great that they made your choices from the first game effect this one me personally i cant wait to play it i want to see how far the darkspawn hole goes...

For me it's the DLC you paid for, and how it seems that it won't carry through for the most part. Can you put the DLC on characters made in the expansion? And what about Shale?...

If it truly is an expansion, shouldn't it expand on the original game and not just be a sequel with the ability to import?

As for companions, there's a new vid out that shows Oghren in the party with his helmet off. Check out the Awakening vids and keep your eyes peeled. It's quick but it's him.



Of course this could be because he's not really in your party very long etc. And I too hope Morrigan pops up for a bit too. That'd be so damn sweet! HOOOOOO

I do not think that is the case, I believe he is wearing the King's armor. I need to watch the clip again, though.

I watched the vid several times and Alistair is wearing the King's armor when he makes that statement. I have commented on that myself in several posts. Of course, it can be taken out of context but I still believe it sounds as if he is ready join in battle, he sounds very passionate about it, not just a recollection of what was. I am very curious to see how this plays out when Awakening is released. I must admit the voice acting in Dragon Age is just outstanding. I am truly excited to get my hands on this expansion. I just hope I am not disappointed with how the storyline is carried over.

pretty safe to say that morrigan wont be in it as they confirmed a DA2 as they said they plan on improving the engines for consoles, anyone now if you have to strip characters to carry on their items to their expansion as the characters wont return?

I would like to get the expansion as soon as it is release, but 40$ (is that right?) seem to much for an expansion, I may wait till the price drops to 24-27$.
