I'm actually kind of hoping they delay it now.

I pre-ordered it back when it was announced. Unfortunately, I just learned that I have to go back to California for some family oriented business for a week, two days before Awakening is set to ship.

Got to love life. Really should have seen this coming xD

I think I'm the only person who has his fingers crossed for your Mabari War Hound to make a triumphant return. I fgure he would go with the warden whatever happens.

I'm also hoping for new weapons like spears and the likes but it's doubtful.

I bet it depends on your ending who the returning character is!

Because Alistair can be sacrificed, Zevran can be killed, Wynne can be killed, you can deny Leliana to join the party, you can choose not to have the dog, you can choose not to rescue Sten, Shale is DLC, Morrigan leaves and would still be pregnant (if you accepted the ritual) when Awakening takes place, and finally for all of the Oghren fans, you CAN kill Oghren!!! Something can happen to and/or you can deny every party member!

Also, in one ending, Zevran went with me to Amaranthine to help rebuild the Grey Wardens, so we stuck together. It would make sense that he would be the returning character for that game in Awakening

In contrast, I was romancing Alistair as an elf and I did not make him king. He only left my side to make a memorial for Duncan. It would also make sense that he'd be the returning character for that game in Awakening.

Leliana, romanced, also stayed by my side to help rebuild the Grey Wardens.

I'm sure it depends on the ending of Origins which character is in Awakening.

Just my theory, and hopes. :)

you can fight Oghren, and make him leave, but i don't think you can actually kill him

You can kill Oghren. I did it on my first playthrough. He will challenge you if he disapproves enough.

Codex on wikia: "If The Warden kills Oghren: He was killed in a dispute with The Warden."

http://dragonage.wik...x_Entry:_Oghren

The only ones you can't kill are Alistair (well, he can be executed by Anora), Morrigan, and Dog.

Actually, I just read you can kill everyone! You can kill dog instead of putting the muzzle on him at Ostagar, you can tell Morrigan you won't help her kill Flemeth, and Alistair can, of course, sacrifice himself or be executed.

I still think the dog should have had his proper boy parts. :P

Maybe the returning companion isn't anyone from the main party... Jowan would be cool :) But that would make three mages out of six companions, counting Valenna and what's-his-face.

Sorry for not having all the info on this, had an affair with Mass Effect 2, but alas the Dragon Age wife, she is forgiving and I am catching up on what I have missed. Where is this new expansion taking us and is it to be after the origin? What happens when a character was "sacrificed" at the end instead of another?

it takes place right after the game ends i think
i don't know about the other question.

In the expansion, you are helping rebuild the Grey Wardens in Amaranthine after the archdemon is dead. If your character is sacrificed, you play as a Grey Warden from Orlais.

I'd love to see that as well, but it's not going to happen in Awakening. For all we know, they could do something with DLC to bring back old companions, but the returning character is decided (but not announced).

The launch date is the day AFTER the San Diego Comic-Con's film festival deadline, so Awakening will be like a little celebratory thing for me!

correction, you CAN play as the grey warden from orlais, it doesn't mean you can only play if your character died.

What will they do if you will  play the orlesian warden but your'e character is the king?

I agree with the one that posted that the returning character will depend on the choices made on the 1st one.

I do hope BioWare keeps on making RPGs wherein the choices you make in the 1st installment matter in the 2nd :)

Do you recall what the disapproval was? I would really like to make sure I just kill him on this play through. Oh wait, that really won't matter because he will be magically resurrected in Awakening as our new favorite companion!! I am REALLY questioning whether I am even going to bother purchasing this expansion after reading the FAQ. Everything that made DAO so incredible will no longer be there, except the combat.

Nah, don't worry, Oghren will still be dead if he's still, well, dead.

Greetings.

So I read through the FAQ section, but I could not see a price for the xbox live version. So, does someone know how many points it will cost?

Also, why the hell cant i use the origins DLC items in the expansion? If i import my character i would actually loose all my items then. So how would this work? Will I start out with basic clothes and the items that can be imported with me is in a chest or some sort?

I must have missed this part - if you start an Orlesian Warden, I assume it's NOT at the beginning of the current content. (headed to Ostagar) You can't play through Origins with those, right? Will these new characters start at a certain level? (presumably 22-25)

It has already been confirmed to be Oghren.
