I hope we get Dog. I want porkpie to fight along side me again. Well I am peeved at the things that won't carry over into the expansion I know I will end up buying it just to see if it's going to be worth it like bioware keeps promising though I would NOT call it an expansion as it does not carry the story line over as such or the DLC gear which means it is to separate games. Oh well I can only hope a true expansion comes out at some stage.

I actually don't mind Oghren. He was funny, imo. I just hope the new party members are more open to follow you no matter what options you chose.

Can we import dead characters into awakening?
From the FAQ:
"2.3 – If my PC died at the end of Dragon Age: Origins how are they alive in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening?
If a player wants to, they can import their "Dead Warden" into Awakening and play as them. For the story it's assumed that they didn't make the ultimate sacrifice, instead somehow survived. A player would start as the same level with the same gear as their "Dead Warden". Essentially, if a player doesn't have a problem hand-waiving the story in this regard - neither do we."
If you want to know whether or not you can only import the decisions your hero made before making the ultimate sacrifice and then continue with a new character - it doesn't seem so but Bioware needs to clarify that.

I'm finished with Awakening, Granted this time I played it on easy just to see the content first. I'm disappointed. I hoped to see my old friends (the characters from the original DAO) but no. Just Oghrin and Alister for one brief moment acting like he and my character had hardly even been friends.
I played the original DAO with several characters, Now, I have no desire to even finish with the ones that hadn't reached the end. If expansions are going to be like this - forget it.

I loved Dragon Age Origins and have played it non-stop since I purchased it (no, I don't have much of a life). I also pre-ordered the Awakening expansion, hoping that it would be as great as the game itself. I know it's been said before, but I have to put my two cents in - The Awakening expansion does not deserve to be associated with Dragon Age Origins. Here are my thoughts on the matter, no spoilers, hopefully:
- Not a single storyline from the original game carried on. The one returning character was so poorly created that I'm surprised he could take a step without falling on his ass. I haven't read through most other comments yet, but I couldn't even use the character because he kept dying so quickly.
- Dragon Age Origins required that the player seek out certain quests, not putting them all right out there. It seems that, in the expansion, the quests find you.
- The storyline for the original game was amazing and, being a writer/editor, I tend to catch the small details. Awakening seemed to have been put together so quickly that conversations weren't debugged, grammar and story were overlooked, and more.
- The game was supposed to focus around the Keep, but there are very few options surrounding the building up of the keep. Seek out trade and all you do is finish a trade quest. Seek out ore and you finish an ore quest. They have little, if anything, to do with the actual story.
Please, guys, I know that people were begging for an expansion and you had to get something out quickly, but tell us that Awakening was a test of faith for fans, or something. If a new expansion is being created, can it correspond a little better with the original game, and actually include a storyline that is more effected by the actions of the player? And where's our Leliana?
Sorry about the ****ing. I've said my piece and all I can do is wait to see if the next game meets the standards that DAO set...
