More than one? Same, only comes back from the last part of the trailer?

Also is it me or the the "song" that is played from 1:14 until the end is from the soundtrack of battle for middle earth rise of the witch king?

While I'm pretty sure none of that is canon (I imagine Alistair surviving is quite a common choice picked by players or somesuch? They just chose to show that for familiarity), I do hope we get to see more returning characters from Origins and there were no issues getting VA back.
I mean, I didn't romance Zev or even talk to him -that- much and he was pretty much the only one who insisted on coming with me at the end of the game.

I thought about it too. That's really odd...

Yes it is music from the BfME games. I think EA has the rights for these games and so they are allowed to use it.
Also the troll you can see at the Bioware page looks a bit like an upgraded battle troll from BfME.

In Mass Effect 2, we have plenty of examples of "Canon" being made out of what the player decided upon. (SPOILER)
Take Wrex for example. "Canon" whether Wrex is alive or not.. depends upon the player. Just because they show Wrex (they haven't from what I've seen) in a trailer.. doesn't mean.. "In canon he's alive."
---
(SPOILER) Take Alistair for example..
He's a drunk loser in my campaign.. he always will be. I can't stand him..
I have every reason to believe that the expansion will have Alistair be whatever you chose for him to be. King.... Drunk... or Dead.
---
They COULD make Morrigan's last little spoiler canon. That would be easy as there are options to have NPCs participate in it. They could simply say that.. without your PC knowing.. certain NPCs participated in the act resulting in the events of Morrigan's story.
---
Anyway, until I see it.. I will believe that this expansion will be no different than ME2's way of handling "canon".

Notice the colors of the armor the talking "darkspawn" is wearing? That's Grey Warden armor...
Someone obviously never read the book.

Definitely going to keep my eyes out for this!
Glad to see there will be an option to import our characters from DA:O into it also
Yes this grants my main wish..to have a continuing story for my favorite play characters.
Thank you in advance, Bioware.

"I rather missed the whole darkspawn killing thing" - I am such an alistair fangirl
Sounds like Alistair is much more like his brother than he'd like to think. Hope he doesn't share the same fate as him...

This Expansion sounds really cool, but, the forty dollars had me back up a little, Bioware makes great stuff. but that seems a little steep for an expansion for me. Even though it sounds awesome, I may hold off on it.
It's listed at $30 on retailers' sites already.

So how about a little hint to help add to the suspense and drive everyone crazy. Hair color, eye color? Gender or race maybe? Favorite type of weapon? Most comfortable spot in camp? Has the letter ___ in their name?
Come on, you know you want to.

This is what made me finally decided not to view any media from Bioware's marketing efforts from now and forever. THAT is a massive spoiler if I ever saw one. In the very attempt to draw fans and players to buy their new game, yet again they've tarnished the experience of certain gamers before the game was even out.
The thread says spoilers in all caps, and an expansion always takes place after the events of the main game...
Spoilers about the original DAO and basic information about the expansion's story are fine, but to spoil on how a nemesis (talking Darkspawn) we haven't even met yet meets his doom? Sure we don't know enough yet about the story for this to have any meaningful effect, but what happens when you play the game halfway, and then remembering this piece of video?
Even the original game was spoiled a lot before release. When I finally played the game, I knew what was going to happen or made many accurate speculations of yet to occur events, piecing things together from many of the marketing videos.
Ah, enough about complaining. Moving on.

it would at least nice to know if that companion can talk or only bark, the former one would leave out the dog, and him being the secret companion to return would be disappointing, although i fear that's exactly what we will get
