Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION & discussion *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

I more wonder who the old character will be that will reappear, my first guess is dog, my second one Leliana. Not that these two are the ones i would love most to see back, just my realistic guess.
Probably there will also be some appearances of old NP'Cs and former party members, not as recruitable party membes this time, but as NPC's that are nevertheless relevant to the new plot, but of course are not advertized before release.

The wording of the announcement says that the new companions will be there to be ADDED to your band of adventurers, so I'd say it's highly likely they will all be available.
No, some of the other articles said that there will be 6 party members, 5 new and 1 returning.
Lets not jump to conclusions until we have absolute final confirmation from bioware about each item. Nothing worse that unmet expectations getting in the way of enjoying a game.
thats mean that morrigan will return!!yay

It would be neat if you could choose the "one old friend" who continues with you in the expansion, although I seriously doubt that Morrigan would be part of your party again, but will most likely pop up in this expansion or a future one.

EDIT: Info added by Moderator to prevent people getting excited with false hopes:
This is a bullet point from the gamestop page I just added to the first post:
Encounter five all-new party members and an old favorite from Dragon Age: Origins
So it sounds like only ONE companion from Dragon Age: Origins will return
for this expansion. Keep in mind this info is still Completely
Unofficial and Completely Uncofirmed until Bioware posts it on their
site :-)
Oh really? Now that would be interesting.Going with the theory that you are right Wesley, I wonder what type of new companions we will see.. and will there be any new romances? I personailly would like to see more.. well, to be blunt, lesbian romances, or at least someone a little less.. creepier then Leliana.. something about her watching me sleep and commenting on my eyelashes.. was distrubing..

Pity, oh well, i'd say there's only one party member that lacks closure in the first game I guess. Wonder if some of the new party members will be romanceable
I still vouch for an heavily armored lady
Is the eyelashes comment really that disturbing? I found it cute...

oh and having the glow and visual effects of talants and spells turn off during conversations and cut scenes would also be very very lovely.

If think that in this end the game wont give your final save - so you cant continue with this ending, it's easy as that. In this case you have to use new orlaisian grey warden origin.Lady_Intimidator wrote...
What if you sacraficed at the end of DAO? But you want to continue using that origin? are you just SOL.. or will you awaken in the fade perhaps?
this could be new duncan companion .)EricXIII wrote...
Is this supposed to be a darkspawn?:wizard:

I'd imagine you would have to be able to go through the main game as an Orlesian.
There is no information to indicate that this Origin will be added to the Main Game.
Please, lets avoid jumping to any conclusions which may turn out to be incorrect. That only leads to unmet expectations and disapointment... which would be unfortunate for such people because this expansion is sounding like it's going to be excelent :-)

Now wouldnt that be ironicly and just tick Logain off to no end? A Orlesian Warden saving Fareldan. Not just from the Blight, but from the very man that helped King Maric drive the empire out in the first place! haha xD

No, you can import your main Grey Warden character, but not all of the existing party members.
The current Unconfirmed and Unofficial information is that ONE of the party members from the main game will return for the expansion.

personally i'd be a bit disappointed if it wasn't possible, and not because of expectations, but simply because the value of expansions is normally not only in the raw hours of gameplay they add, but also in what they add to the gameplay of the main game too.
Origins in DA are kind of like starting classes, and in most other RPGs i've seen, classes that were added in expansions were made available in the main game too. Adding a new origin but not allowing us to play the whole game through it wouldn't make much sense...

I wouldnt say we are jumping to conclusions.. we are mearly.. discussing the possibilites on how what we do know about the expantion will work and fit into the game play... its more speculations then anything really... and that is mix in, in between the posts about what we would like to see in the add on.

I know, but all too often speculation snowballs as other people read it and take it as a fact and get their hopes up on that, especially in this case where we have no completely official information...
maybe if we clearly mark our stuff as speculation, it can try to minimise that issue :-)

I will be highly pissed if it wasn't. They would have to release it on all platforms.

I would like it as well, but all I am saying is that there is nothing that is written that indicates this will happen.
You're right that it would be an awesome feature, which is why I would assume that it would be prominently listed in the previews / feature list...
Lets wait and see what Bioware says when they get into their offices :-)
