Well PC expansions are usually $20 or $30 so it seems fair but if you plan to wait it could be very unlikely the price will go down anytime soon. They might run a promotional sale but PRGS hold value long after any other genre in the gaming world.

More dragon fights.

Yes!! I love the dragon fights, drakes, dragonlings all of them!!!! It seems like they shoved a lot of content & dialogue in 15 hours. That seems short from everything they show off in the trailer.

Spoilers about the original DAO and basic information about the expansion's story are fine, but to spoil on how a nemesis (talking Darkspawn) we haven't even met yet meets his doom? Sure we don't know enough yet about the story for this to have any meaningful effect, but what happens when you play the game halfway, and then remembering this piece of video?
Even the original game was spoiled a lot before release. When I finally played the game, I knew what was going to happen or made many accurate speculations of yet to occur events, piecing things together from many of the marketing videos.
Ah, enough about complaining. Moving on.
Where does it say how The Architect meets his doom, if he even does? He's not in the main game, he's in the novel "The Calling."
The Archdemon is the "big bad" in the main game, and it sucks that it got spoiled for you, but how else did you expect the game to end? You have to end the Blight. That's not really the "end" end anyway, the real end is based on your decisions and not just the killing of one bad guy.

Anyway, until I see it.. I will believe that this expansion will be no different than ME2's way of handling "canon".
Well, I certainly hope this is the case. Though now that you mention it, an expansion pack that takes place after credits roll with no function such as this would lead to a lot of continuity problems. On the other hand, I'm assuming that with the new Orlesian character, previous saves would not truly apply to this since you start over from scratch. If that's the case, then wouldn't we consider what happens with the Orlesian character's scenario as true "canon"? Because IF you truly do start from scratch, what happenes in this scenario is created by Bioware and not influenced by our DA:O choices.
Pure speculation though.

I've just viewed the trailler and the 2 party charachters I recognise are Alistar & Oghren. As Alistair is king in the trailer, does that mean the 6th "returning" companion is Oghren? In the video he appears with the PC party (clearly Oghren at around 1:10 & 1:20 in the video trailer, the red hair & beard is a give away). I was hoping for a female dwarf like the book The Calling but never mind...
Also looks like a male mage is joining us.

Mmm I just realized they censored the golem breaking the guy in two, and changed it for the golem just punching him into the floor
oh yeah I see that too. Hopefully it is just censored for the trailer. The golem breaking the guy in two was sick.

I preordered the game and I still play it frequently. It has been my primary gaming entertainment since it released. I am glad to see an expansion released. However I will NOT PREORDR this. BioWare has lost my confidence in them being able to provide a timely and bug free product. You had it prior to the Launch of Dragon Age and I hung in there for a while afterword. But the performance of the BioWare group since then has been lackluster with missed dates and buggy patches. Even the core product is borderline with respect to stability and Quality Assurance. The shaky post release support tipped the scale and hurt your reputation as a company.
I will keep an eye on the update and reconsider purchasing DLC or Expansions later down the road. But I will not give BioWare the benefit of doubt any longer. I will only consider purchasing content from BioWare if the community gives it a stamp of approval. Not on faith any longer.
So if community manager gets to see this throw it on the pile with the other whines and bring it up in a team meeting or something.

if there is, there should be random encounters in towns where the guards are sent after your party if there is a darkspawn guy with you. or, there should be someway you could disguise him.

It's listed at $30 on retailers' sites already.
Seems to be $30 just for the PC version.

Is it really wise to release this expansion pack so close to the FFXIII release?
I mentioned this a few pages back. I will be torn as to which game to play. I was planning on taking time off of work and can't do two weeks in a row.

Given that the amount of groceries I could buy for forty dollars would be eaten long before I finish the expansion, I don't see this as excessive.

That sounds wise. I personally will be playing FFXIII. I figure that way I might be able to catch the expansion pack at a reduced price. I could do it the other way around but I can't not buy FFXIII on the release date. Plus FFXIII wont be dropping in price any time soon.
