I can't go through every page in this thread so forgive me if it's been mentioned, but did anyone notice Oghren TWICE in the trailer?

I don't mind Ogrhen being the returning companion, as long as everyone else (cept' Morrigan of course) gets to return as NPC's

Bioware could also be huge jerks and let Leiliana run away with Zevran and you are heart broken and must face the cold world alone.  The ultimate troll...:crying:

I can't see any way in which this expansion is NOT going to conflict with the ending I got.

You don't like morrigan i take it, I hope we will be able to see her again, it would be very interesting.

"The game, which will require a copy of "Dragon Age: Origins" to play, is supposed to run about 15 hours and will allow for players to import and edit characters they've broken in from the core game. "

I will absolutely, positively DIE if my romance with Alistair is not continued from DA:O. (My husband, on the other hand, will probably not be so heartbroken if that happens, LOL!)

I'm looking forward to seeing how Bioware implements the character imports with ME2. I imagine that will give us some clue as to how they'll do it for DA:A.

If this does take into account prior events. I would assume the following.

1) If you are importing your old character, I suspect it will either be Alistar or Anora giving you your information, since depending on how things go with DA:O, one of those two will be on the throne. It would be easy for them to have two different people give virtually the same expositionary dialog. (This would be similar to what happened in Deus Ex 1--if Paul Denton is dead, somebody else gave JC virtually the same speech).

2) A new character would assume a default story, thus Alistair being alive.

I don't know if you'll be able to do something like create a new character and have it recognize what your other character did though.

has it been answered whether or not owning dragon age origins is a prerequisite? It's only been advertised at retail and not downloadable so this is a bit curious.

Devs i LOVE, let me say again LOVE, this game but sadly with todays announcement you have taken a step in the wrong direction.

Allowing "RE-SPEC" just ruins the game and IMO is cheating.  What fun is it playing a game if you can just "RE-SPEC" your points/spells/skills at any time you want in the game to fit whatever experience you are facing.  This is nothing but a lame cheat in the game.

People should learn from what they did in a game with their "messed" up chara and when they go back and make a new chara they should have a better idea of what they are doing.   What is the point of playing a game when at any point i can just go back and change up any points/skills/spells to fit the situation which im currently in.  What challange is that?

It's good that we can respec in the expansion pack... but what if we had used tomes in the original campaign to get more skills and talents? Would those be lost in the respecialization or will those points be kept and available to be re-allocated elsewhere?

Does Bioware plan to to fix some of the graphic issues with Dragon Age with the expansion?

Can't wait but am a little disappointed to see my group go away. One of the best parts of the game was getting to know my NPCs. It is a shame that Bioware decided to basically ditch them. I personally think this is a mistake. Adding NPCs, sure, yes even, but getting rid of characters that they invested some much time into and developed so well seems such a waste.

OK I've read through this entire thread and the only time that 15hrs is mentioned is by a user, after that everyone takes it as gospel, I think we should just wait and see what Bioware have to say about it before jumping to conclusions.

Thank You Bioware! This news definatly cheers me up especially after the news of Return to Ostagar being delayed.

Also I agree that we should wait until Bioware officially states how long the expansion is. Anyway even if it is15 hours long like like the users are saying, that is still longer than most games on the market now and well worth the $40.

Yeah that second shot kind of proves it, I guess I overestimated Bioware. Not very good and keeping secrets are you, or maybe you simply underestimated the deligance (or insanity) of some people.

If I have to make a new Warden (mine is dead), will my actions from the previous game at least have an impact on the way the expansion works for my story? I don't really want a "default story"; it'd be more fun if, say, King Alistair made a few mentions mourning the old commander, his best friend, etc. Hmm. =\\

Oh my, an expansion less than 6 months after the initial release. Good deal - Take Two ate a teensy bit of crow for waiting too long to capitalize on (or, in industry speak, leverage) initial customer interest when they released the GTAIV expansions. I'm certainly planning on purchasing it, along with RtO, in March.

I really hope that if you import a character who sacrificed themselves they can somehow be ressurected. (Maybe by a certain character who runs off) My only character as of now has not completed the game, but as he is really good I wouldnt allow him to do anything other than this ending, but I dont want to play as someone else! I want him to continue his romance with Morrigan if she ever comes back.

Maybe the title is a reference to characters who choose that ending "Awakeing"? Probably not though.

So is there any possibilty that we can get official confirmation that in an imported sacrifice file our character can be saved?

Wow, that's pretty much proof right there.  So much for the return of an old favorite, Oghren is easily the worst and most uninteresting character from the original team.  Thanks bioware.

After the disappointment of no RtO DLC today, this has definitely made my day!

Oghren, you say? I will be pretty disappointed if I don't get King Alistair in my party.

i really like Morrigan, but i don't want her back already either. I don't want Morrigan to come back on her own so soon. to me it just would ruin her ending of the original campaign.
