Oghren was my guess.  I think he may be the only companion you have to recruit and you can't kill off somehow.  And who doesn't vanish mysteriously at the end.

I'm pleased to see this DLC! I hope it means we'll hear more of King Maric's excursion into the Deep Roads with Duncan and their first encounter with a talking Darkspawn. If this story relates to that in the book, it'll be a fun trip.

Edit - wait?! It's an EXPANSION! That's even cooler than DLC. Awesome. I'm buying.

It costs 39.99 for all versions. A ridiculous price, but we will all pay it.

Aw, I just read the announcement page again and saw what the new local will be...I wanted to go to Orlais. Oh well, Amaranthine should be cool too. Man, March seems so far away, lol.

Is this normal for games? I JUST bought the game a week after it came out and I already had to fork over about 20-25 dollars in SMALL dlcs... now I will have to give 40 dollars for the next expansion?????!!!!!!! With an expansion like this I expected to pay and not get it for free but 40 dollars!!!!!!!!! I'm poor and would really like to get this because it seems FANTASTIC, but less than, what, 2 months? If it keeps up like this I'll be spending over 200$ every year! AND NO ONLINE!



Sorry for the rant... I'm very sure I exaggerated most of what I said but there is truth in it even at the smallest level.

So if I understand correctly..

-We can play as our old Grey Warden if he/she survived with gear and all.

-There are 5 new companions

-An old favourite is returning, this could mean an NPC like Duncan. I hope so as I'd love my old companions back esp or most of them, Shale, Leliana and Sten.

-Orlesian (Elf/Human) is the new Origin story ? Assuming your character died.

-The story takes place in Amaranthine.

-The 'Architect' predicted we would kill the Archdemon ... he's more of a badass than the books described.

...I think an intelligent darkspawn with that much foresight is pretty badass, withholding the book's description. He's going to be a **** to defeat, if he does make an appearance.



I would like to see characters from the books appear in some of these expansions... I'd also like to know the truth behind Alistair's birth. I mean, the ending of The Calling is too coincidental to be discounted... and unless there's another half-brother to Alistair and Cailan running around out there...

Way to follow up quickly, Bioware... in fact, your timing is perfect. I plan to start a new game with the character I've been building in my mind just in time to finish when this releases and continue his story.



Dragon Age is absolutely a remarkable achievement in video gaming; the ability to take my character through an ongoing series of stories that I have so much control over is exactly what I've been waiting for since Baldur's Gate.



Keep these coming. I don't care if you release an expansion a month for 10 years, I'll keep buying. You've earned every cent.

HAHA! Oghren ftw! I bet many people who don't like him never gave him a chance, being on average, the last character to recruit and serving pretty much the same role as sten/shale/dog/alistar... I can't blame people for not travling with him or even giving two s****s about him. But he really was one of bioware's best characters, and deserves the spot. It will give him a much needed chance to shine.
