Im just wondering if Bioware is going to take the Bg2 path and include an epic dungeon in the x pac.

One of the things I hated most about DA:O is that the sidequests didn't have a dungeon devoted to them. Like in Bg2 the sun temple I think, and the red dragon. Watcher's keep too.

Contradition is what you just posted. It can't be a ridiculous pircve if people are willing to pay it. Prcing is pretty arbitraly and is basically about supply and demand. If someone feels $40 is too high - don't buy it, and wait til it drops. THAT'S how one shows a price is ridiculous not byu whining about it or being a punk and stealing it (not saying that's you).

It reminds mke of the peons who whine about the theatre pricing being 'too high' yet continue to go. And, I've been hearing that particualr whine for as long back as I can remember. L0L

Well you can pay $40 & allow developers to continue to treat us like idiots thanks to people like you. I will not how ever. I reserved it at the price of $29.99 paid in full plus tax, so if they ask for more money I'll miss out on it. I'll also encourage everyone else not to buy it. I hope it gets pirated 2 million times over, not saying I would contribute but Bioware deserves it. It's your choice to encourage the raise in price, nothing justifies it. If they raise it to $40 I think all PC games should be $60 like MW2 otherwise it's just unfair to console gamers. If they raise all PC games to $60 I will gladly pay the extra $10 for the expansion since all idiots buying it for that price will make the new stanard price for PC $60 for games $40 for expansions.
So once again People fail to stand together & we lose. They save a lot of money on expansions & make a lot more profit. Voice acting was most likely done a long time ago they do not have to build a game or a world with its own set of rules. ALl they have to do is build a short campaign with the dialogue & toolset they already have then test for bugs as long as possible. So I guess I can thank you along with many for most likely raising the price. Thanks fools!!!
I may not like all the angry children that play MW2 but at least their community stood together. PC sales were terrible in comparison plus 4 million copies pirated.
So yes fool I am "whining" slash speaking my mind about an injustice against gamers but people are typically idiotic mindless sheep who go with the flow instead of asking questions or standing together example you. So thank you for proving idiots that fall in line easily exist, I wasnt' sure til now1!!!

LOL. WAAH!

Go be a community organizer or something.

They'd need to have been working on the expansion pack around 9 months or so by now if they are really going to have it released according to the date - which would be nice of course, but I don't hold my breath.

You are aware the game was done last winter right? They decided to delay the PC for a simultaneous release with the consoles, another company handled the porting I believe. So reality is they've had close to a year to put quite a bit of effort towards the expansion, Gaider and his team have probably had a lot longer then that. March I think is very reasonable.

Hopefully, the importing perks will not be as "glorious" as Mass Effect 2's.

ME2 will be a good indicator of how DA:O:A and DA2 will use your choices.

It's not a matter of "able" or not. It's all a matter of if it makes sense. Well, part of it is "able", I guess. Importing all of your parties abilities/loot would be hell on programming.

Oh I'm sure they are. Bioware always has a plan, it may not go exactly the way they wanted and they don't always share these plans, but they always have a plan and always have somebody working on their next big thing.

Personally I think the expansion looks great and I'm looking forward to it. I'd love to see how my MC's actions from DA:O are carried out differently in the expansion across all my char's who made different choices.

Personally I welcome the re-spec system.

My first toon was a pure dex dagger Rogue, I play the console version and didn't realise about the dex bug for a while, at which point I did not want to restart the same guy again, grabbed the first longsword from the camp vendor for my MH and turned the char into a gimped str/dex ass/duelist thingamajig out of panic >_>.

-SPOILERS-

Anyways he romanced morrigan and accepted the ritual promising to find her in the epilogue. I'm glad for the re-spec function so I can un-gimp that char when the expansion comes out and carry him over. (not sure if it will work this way but being purely speculative on the matter).

If that is the case though I can continue on my current playthroughs with new char's who all make different choices and not have to worry about playing through the game again with another char who made the exact same choices as my first.

>"# Encounter five all-new party members and an old favorite from Dragon Age: Origins"

There's been a lot of speculation, and it seems too much like we lose all our current party, and only get one of them back for the expansion. It's not something that makes me happy, at all. ;_;

Surely this could at least be confirmed. Is the meeting of an old favorite someone who we were not capable of recruiting in Origins? Or do we get to say goodbye to all the companions we came to love in Origins if we want to play the expansion?

It'd really, really blow, if you finish the game to get a happily ever after with Alistair/Zevran/Leliana (Or at least they stay by your side) and then have the expansion be all BUT THEN EVERYONE DIED IN A FREAK ACCIDENT EXCEPT ONE AND YOU HAVE TO GO MAKE NEW FRANDS NOW. x.x

If we are going to be able to import our character from Origins and have them continue their story, then their story should be continued the way they chose it to be, with the character they chose to romance at their side the way the ending of Origins said they would be.

Nice Bioware..this expansion is coming out relatively quickly in comparison to other experiences I have had with other game companies. Good on you, but I note there seems to be currently..until you can get that durned dlc out, MORE interest for the dlc than the expansion. :D

Wishing ill will on another does not exempt you just because you said "I wouldn't do it".

I have absolutely no idea what you mean here. Are you honestly complaining about a conspiracy against console gamers?

If they raise all PC games to $60 I will gladly pay the extra $10 for the expansion since all idiots buying it for that price will make the new stanard price for PC $60 for games $40 for expansions.

I see a huge flaw in your entire argument so far: you don't seem to know what game development costs at all.

So once again People fail to stand together & we lose.

Quit using vague terminology like "standing together" to mask that you are just pissed off at the price.

You're right, once ONE game is made, it shuld take no time to make OTHER games. I mean, they've already made ONE, right? How hard can it be to make MORE?

So yes fool I am "whining" slash speaking my mind about an injustice against gamers but people are typically idiotic mindless sheep who go with the flow instead of asking questions or standing together example you. If you want people to take you seriously, or to even "stand together", you should probably stop with the horrible insults.

I do so love watching the speculations fly. Nothing brings gamers together like the idea of quelling more darkspawn.

Now, we just need to keep the speculations from being seen as "fact" else we will have angry gamers swooping down upon us!

And we all know that swooping is bad..

The fact that you think you know what you're talking about is what makes this post so interesting, I think. Just because you think that you shouldn't have to pay for downloadable content means that it should be cheaper, or even free? Really? Grow up. Please. You're only making yourself look bad

I'm curious if the old party member will be of your own choosing or merely a cameo like in ME2? My play through ended with Alastair by my side to rebuild the Grey Wardens and Zevran joining me to help. I would hope/like that to be the continuing storyline for future expansions/game plays. Bioware allows the player to create their own experience with decisions and actions having direct results I would hope that those choices and actions continue and don't just get discarded for new content and game play. Otherwise why bother taking the time carefully creating a character and relationships you personally desire.

How do disc-based expansions on the PS3 work (and 360, for that matter)? Do you just need the install from DAO still on your HD?

I agree. I mean even if we can't have them in our party I'm sure our new party members will be awesome but I still hope all our old party memebrs or most are staying at our latest Grey Warden's fort so we can still talk & learn about them at the very least,
Knowing Bioware they have something planned so I'm sure the new characters will be so brilliant we won't even think of the old guys...or so I hope.
It's just really hard to say at this point but even if we do not get all of them, I don't think we should let it ruin our expansion experience. I mean we saw Oghren & Alistair in the video.

It might ruin the experience for me, actually! If I shell out that kind of money for 15 hours of gameplay, I'm not likely to get to know or love any of the new characters as much as I've come to <3 the ones in Origins.

Also. if I don't get to have Zevran in my party, then imagine the spite I'm going to feel when the gear I had equipped on him is carried over, and put on some new rogue Zevran-substitute thrown in. D: (I spent a lot of money on his daggers and armor. I don't want someone else wearing it! QQQQQQ)

It could very easily ruin my experience as my attachment to Zevran is beyond the normal. >_> That and I don't think I could enjoy new characters a whole lot in just 15 hours, when you had all of Origins to develop relationships with your current party.

Basically, I just hope that it's confirmed if we get to keep the current party that we had when the game ended (The characters that agreed to stay with you after everything was over), and then recruit the 5 new ones to get to know as we please, or if we get dumped by everyone except 1 origins companion and left to make new friends. =/ Knowing this now will really affect whether or not I get hyped for this expansion pack or not.

I look forward to the idea of uncovering more darkspawn killan content as a Grey Warden, but if my character is forced to do it with total strangers it's not going to be near as immersive or entertaining.
