I know I'm defiantly buying this. I
I doubt there will be hordes of darkspawn at best buy who will prevent you from buying it. Though they might sell you an extended warranty.

no it cant be the old god child, because that talking darkspawn already existed before the events of dragon age: origins. And Alistair in the Trailer doesn't mean that he will actually appear in your game, he will be how he was at the end of the original campaign.Gribah11 wrote...
Maybe this talking darkspawn is that old god, other words Morrigan child. LOL (hope not) ... anyway, if we can take Origins save game, then there Alistar went away. And according to trailer, do this mean i am not a king anymore. Is it even possible to make Awakening expansion pack in consideration of all 4 possible endings.
Bioware already said that they only showed in the trailer one of the many possibilties how it can be, and it will be different if you chose things differently in the main game

Hmm, Morrigan would be the last person I expect to see in Awakening as the "old favorite". Maybe as an NPC but still I see no reason for her to be anywhere close to Amaranthine.
I can see it right now... after you finish the expansion you head towards Orlais and suddenly your ring starts to glow.. then BAM the game ends and you see the credits. Yes I know, not everyone has the ring but let me dream
When she shows up it will probably be when no one expects it.
My guess too. They said only one of the old companions will return as party member, that does not say that the rest can't appear throughout the game, maybe even as some kind of cliffhanger for the next expansion or dlc.
Also keep in mind that DAO had a secret party member...
So there is still hope for fans of different characters around, and i for myself would love the idea to see her back in any kind of way

The wording of the announcement says that the new companions will be there to be ADDED to your band of adventurers, so I'd say it's highly likely they will all be available.
No, some of the other articles said that there will be 6 party members, 5 new and 1 returning.
Lets not jump to conclusions until we have absolute final confirmation from bioware about each item. Nothing worse that unmet expectations getting in the way of enjoying a game.
thats mean that morrigan will return!!yay:O:O
Personally I hope she doesnt just yet, i think there's a lot of storytelling that can be done what with the oc plot twists and whatnot, tho some rumour of her passing would be nice

Now, as to some of the earlier comments concerning the price. I do believe something needs to be elaborated. First of all, videogames are an optional form of entertainment, similar to going to the cinema or paying to go to a club. Because it is optional you are not forced to purchase any of it.
Secondly, the game is the possession of BioWare. Does this mean they can ask any price they wish? Yes. Why? Because they don't have to create it. The problem is that people believe "they have the right" to have these things whilst in fact they do not. The company produces a product, puts it on the market and it is up to the customer to decide whether to purchase it or not.
Things like these aren't simply to be taken for granted. They are similar to a gift, one which you pay for, but that's how society tends to work.Despite people claiming it is unfair, it is smart to remember that life isn't always fair.
Don't misunderstand me though. I'm not saying complaining is foolish or anything as it is everyone's right, in this scenario it is their right as free citizens, but it is always worth it to take the time to look at the effort, time and money invested in these things whilst it would take only one voice to say "No more, we quit now".
But that's just crazy old me talking.

If you can either start anew or continue your char it will be hard to make it challenging for an old , lv22-25 char without making it impossible for someone who starts anew...
And that would be sad, since it seems really interesting.
Please add Shianni as romance options and my dreams will come true!!!!

also i think oghren defintly will be the returning character as at 1.10 and 1.19 he appears to be in your party. although alistair saying "i miss the whole darkspawn killing thing" means it could be him i guess but that dosnt explain why oghren is there.

Alistair is in it, Oghren is in it, possibly Zevran(didnt see him myself)
some unknown warrior can be seen in you party, as well as a mage who obviously a new party member(in tevinter robes interesting enough, and possible warden as we can see him drinking from something. probably a guy who goes through the ritual with you if you choose to play the warden from Orlais) Also there seems to be some Elven mage who can control trees, may be a second mage? and new spec? I believe I also saw a Zweihander wielded as a onehander...
EDIT: they really should add the new specs and spell andweapons, amors etc etc to Origins, the party members can't be done,me understands...but those things aren't story related that much....

No. We don't know that.
Alistair appears in cut scenes in the trailer.
That does not mean he is a full party member character for the expansion.

To me he seemed a NPC in the cut scenes, in his role as King of Ferelden. Maybe if you killed him in your playthroughs it will be Anora as Queen, who knowsTorias wrote...

I hope they do...it will be awkward if you "magically" lose that king spot

Quick question: so you can start a new game with a Grey Warden from Orlais, but will we still be able to start a regular new game and still enjoy the expansion's features?
Good question. Will I still be able to play a regular origin character but still have the oppurtunity to be apart of all the new content? Is it basically going to be like the Diablo 2 expansion with another "act" in it?

Anora is my queen now and Allistar went off drinking...I wonder how they will convert it to make him return or will I run into him somewhere

But we can hope, right?
And, if he is not a party member, he should at least give us his armor. It looks impressive:)
