I know for sure I'm buying this i still haven't got threw he final darkspawn battle berfore the archdemon i cant seem to get through. But this is basically a sequel to DAO, as there will be 5 new characters and they will bring back one favorite from the old DAO. It said that you can either upload your old char, or make a new one from orlais. i'm so excited CANT WAI TIL FEB 16!!!!!!

 So we only get one original companion but in the video we clearly see two. Meaning...you LIE!!!! lol or that was just part of a cut scene? What I am really asking if I can get it out of you is will we be able to talk to our old group at all or even see them in the new campaign?...even a few of them not every last person perhaps.

I have said this before, and I say it again, I am excited for Awakening. It also pleases me to no end to see people from Biowaare commenting as it tells me that they are listening to us..or at least thinking of us.



On a side note, I laugh at the RtO thread xD

that's what i hope too. I see the reason for not making them playable, character driven games need some new input from time to time, and given how many possible endings there are, it must be horrifying to try to include them all into a still working and playable game.
But as you said, thy can still return as non-playable but nevertheless important NPC'S for the xpac. At least for now, nothing we know of this xpac excludes this. And i would really more than miss them if they just vanish, and i can't wait to see some of again (romance choice included of course, as that person has grown the most to most players, including me)

If I remember right there are only 4 companions that will stay at your side in atleast a few Epilogues. Shale always leaves you, goes to Tevintar and always disappears is some manner so I see no reason to expect her to make an appearance in the expansion. To the companion that would return, Gaider already said it's fixed, it'd be to much of a waste of limited resources to write the dialogue, hire the voice actors to record it, script them, ect. for a variety of companions only to ever actually have one in the game.

Awww nuts, that means Sten, Shale and Leliana aren't returning..

Oh well, it won't get in the way of our enjoyment but I really hope the origins characters particularly the romance will return at some point in the future.

You dished out $50 two weeks ago, you won't have to dish out the $40 for ATLEAST 2 months. I don't see your point of argument.

No, it simply means they aren't returning as companions. As regular NPC's they can make a comeback, just don't get your hopes up for Shale and Sten.

Well then, Mr. Grownup Manlyman, here's a thought....   Don't buy it until two months after it comes out.  If you're really all grown up you know about budgeting.  :-)  So skip a couple coffees each wekk, put those three bucks in an envelope, and there you go.  At the end of three months, you have damn near all the money you need for the Xpack.

its not a new game. Its (supposedly) 15 hours, requires the original game and expands on the originals story and content. It's just possibly started separately. It's an expansion. Think BG2: Throne of Baahl and D2: Lord of Destruction, Starcraft: Brood War, Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, among others.

I don't think i want to pay more than 20euros for this, but then again i rarely pay more than that for my games, Dragon Age was an exception

I am slightly bummed that we will not get to have more of our former party members back in Awakening. But I do hope that we get to see, maybe speak to them at some point.

 It's not really a sequal considetring Bioware was quoted 15 hours for Awakening for $40, DA:O was $50 for 30-100 hours depending on how you play. So basically it is a high price but EA knows more people will pay it than miss out. I don't agree with it just like the guy who spent $50 two weeks ago. I have plenty of bills don't need an over priced expansion which is why my friend is buying it for me. Win, win we both play & I don't have to pay that outrageous price.

My same hopes as well. I am bummed that Alistair is most likely or cool campanion from Origins. i know most like him, hell i loved him until the landsmeet when he wouldn't stop crying. lol. Hope we can get Loghain instead!

 It might be a cheap route out of paying original voice actors? Maybe these guys are cheaper. Plus We should only get Loghain, Alistair, Leliana, & ??? idk Oghren was planning to leave, Wynne was basically going to die soon, Shale is a giant rock chick off to kill birds, Morrigan ...well she's gone solo. So we really do not have too many party members left. lol.

No,
I live on my own, have my own job, rent an apartment and own my own
car. Now you can assume and be ignorant all you like, just don't use
the anonymity of the internet as an excuse to belittle someone. If you
disagree with what I say then challenge it, debate it with something,
don't come typing gibberish and tossing around ignorant generalizations
about someone you don't know.

The point I was making to him,
was against his argument that he now has to pay $40 two weeks after he
paid $50 for the base game, reality is he doesn't. He's got two months
to set $40 cash to the side if he truly wants this expansion, that's a
dollar every other day. If one cannot save up $40 for something they
want in two months they have to seriously reevaluate their lives.

Well i didnt mean an exact sequel its basically broken steel fo fallout 3 just in dragon age origins you know letting you play after youve beaten the game so yeah expansion but im still excited but agravated with how long return to ostagar is taking
