the point he try to make is that you are a mother ****ing brat that
live on you father and mother wealth fare,me and possibly him have to
work very hard to pay rent, cars, assurance, food and everything this life
require wen you become a full grow man.

classy.

No,
I live on my own, have my own job, rent an apartment and own my own
car. Now you can assume and be ignorant all you like, just don't use
the anonymity of the internet as an excuse to belittle someone. If you
disagree with what I say then challenge it, debate it with something,
don't come typing gibberish and tossing around ignorant generalizations
about someone you don't know.

The point I was making to him,
was against his argument that he now has to pay $40 two weeks after he
paid $50 for the base game, reality is he doesn't. He's got two months
to set $40 cash to the side if he truly wants this expansion, that's a
dollar every other day. If one cannot save up $40 for something they
want in two months they have to seriously reevaluate their lives.

xD Saving, tis what I plan to do.

Awww nuts, that means Sten, Shale and Leliana aren't returning.. :(
Oh well, it won't get in the way of our enjoyment but I really hope the origins characters particularly the romance will return at some point in the future.

No, it simply means they aren't returning as companions. As regular NPC's they can make a comeback, just don't get your hopes up for Shale and Sten. ;)

Wait can someone please explain to me why leliana and shale left???

***SPOILERS***

Shale went to Tevintar find a way to reverse the Golem process and turn her back into a dwarf, she "disappears" aside from various rumors in all the epilouges. Leliana is usually with or near the Warden is almost all of her epilouges. I'd assume, especially if you romanced her, that she'll have some sort of presence in the expansion, just as more of a side role instead of being in your party.

What confuses me is Alistair, in the video, says that he misses the, "darkspawn killing thing." So does that mean that he is the returning favorite?

I agree with 4 love i just bought the game for 50 bucks 2 weeks ago now you want me to dish out 40 thats ridiculous they need to lower price even 25 bucks is good not 40 thats outrageous

yes I agree if it were just an expansian but itsa whole new game maybe even a sequel so i say 40 dollars is one good deal

its not a new game. Its (supposedly) 15 hours, requires the original game and expands on the originals story and content. It's just possibly started separately. It's an expansion. Think BG2: Throne of Baahl and D2: Lord of Destruction, Starcraft: Brood War, Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, among others.

I don't think i want to pay more than 20euros for this, but then again i rarely pay more than that for my games, Dragon Age was an exception :P

Well i didnt mean an exact sequel its basically broken steel fo fallout 3 just in dragon age origins you know letting you play after youve beaten the game so yeah expansion but im still excited but agravated with how long return to ostagar is taking

Well hopefully it's not just like Fallout 3 b/c that writing sucked to me. haha. i didn't like the long speech of how great we were sacrificing ourselves(if you did) then they're like oh yeah turns out you're ok...keep playing now.
I'm sure David gaider will be much more creative than that though.

i want to see all old companions back as you all, especially as party members, but really, think about it for a minute: most of them can die or leave you throughout the game, there are at least 5 or more very different endings for each one of them in the epilogue.
If they return as party members, they will return for everyone, that is, they need to write dialogues for all the different endings, relationship status and so on, for 8 characters, and still provide a working party. That is a nearly impossible task, especially for an xpac.
They can bring them back as NPC's, that would reduce the complecity of the different endings and relationships to a great extent (just like in ME2), and as long as they're not scrap them and bring them back and ofc let me continue my romance, i'll be more than fine.
If they indeed want to bring them back some time, they have to provide a more canon ending within a future xpac so that migrating them to a new plot is less complex.
Also think about your party members will probably become Grey Warden's, but not all survive the joining: do you really want to see your true friend or love of DAO die in the joining?

When you say you miss something generally it's because it's something you loved but can't go back to doing. I miss highschool, that doesn't mean I'm getting to enroll back in. So my assumption is no, he won't be doing any Darkspawn choppin' by your side.

If he's the King than he'll be commanding an army and not fighting in your party per say... Nonetheless, I would like to see old members(That didn't leave you in the end or die) to make appearances and not be pushed aside to gather dust for the expansion because Bioware wants us to like the new companions.

But he did say "I did miss the darkspawn killing thing" while he was dressed in armor so i think he is doing what king calin did fighting even though hes a king and allistar is a little on the dumb side even though i liked him so i think he will be coming as your one compainen from the origins

Well, what I also want to know is if your character was a human noble female and married Alistair and became Queen or Princess-Consort or whatever, how would that be addressed?

Only one companion in Awakening has been seen in Origins. The rest are new characters we hope you'll enjoy bunches.

Erm, so are you stating that companion doesn't even necessarily have to have been one of our Origins companions, just someone who was in the OC?

With *all* but two companions being completely optional partymembers, one of them potentially dying, while the other is last seen in the entirely opposite direction from where the expansion takes place, I have a hunch we might be looking at the wrong companions to return. Or, that we're indeed talking about one of "the two", but in that case, only if we start a new character coming from Orlais. And I doubt that this one companion will leave Orlais..

You guys arent also thinking about this you can bring back your old char but most noobs who never played the game will be creating a new character from orlais which means allistar is the only suitable character since hes the king and if you made a new character it be weird to say hi friend by the way this is shale, leliana, sten, dog, zeveren and dead wynne , doesnt make much sense

Did he?  I honestly don't remember the exact wording, but the way that's phrased it does imply he is out there killing Darkspawn. Still, I don't see him an a companion simply because of how easy it was to be rid of him and it is a major impact on the plot that I would assume is translated across to the expansion. They said it's only one companion that will cross over, I wouldn't think they'd bring one who would be dead/MIA at the epilogue 50% of the time.

Good stuff. I'm really curious if we can get any information concerning the new region Amaranthine. I'm very pleased it doesn't take place in Ferelden. A completely new land is worth buying an expansion, especially if it's up to spec with the original game.

The last time I checked, the Amaranthine was part of Ferelden.

For those hoping the expansion opens an Orlesian Origin story for the original game, that would be tough considering that an Orlegian would be difficult to successfully navigate the story while still being believable. I'm sure Loghain wasn't/isn't the only one with a bias against Orlesians. They would have to add more to some of the quests to make it believable that an Orlesian could garner such support. Especially the quests ramping up to the Landsmeet, etc.

Also, while I'd love to see the "one" returning member be dependent on your decisions in the original storyline, I don't know if they'll go that far.  That would be a hell of a lot of programming for each possible companion.

okay, just my opinion here, but given that Alistair is clearly visible in the trailer, he is the least possible old companion for the xpac imo. I doubt BioWare is this stupid as making the old companion a scecret and then present him right at the beginning of the first trailer.

I bet he will be an NPC, he looks like the one's who giving you the quest if ypu play DAO along that path, but not the party member.

I have a question. Are we going to have our own castle to govern? I mean, like we did it in NWN2? That would be really nice, cause managing the Crossroad Keep was my favourite part of NWN2.

Well, the Orleasian Warden is based off the plot of the Warden sacrificing theselves, in which case all of your companions aside from Oghren and Alistair, (IF you didn't pick Anora/Loghain) disappear or go off on their own little journey far off so reality is they wouldn't be there, aside fom Oghren and Alistair (Again this is a big IF depending on what you did), which leaves Oghren as the only true constant. How they get introduced we'll see how it plays out.

I've played 3 endings, in the first Leliana leaves and goes after the urn of Sacred Ashes. in one of them Shale goes back to the deep roads. in another she is seen up north as a dwarf, killing pigeons. It seemslike there is quite  a lot of varienty in the endings. :)
