You guys arent also thinking about this you can bring back your old char but most noobs who never played the game will be creating a new character from orlais which means allistar is the only suitable character since hes the king and if you made a new character it be weird to say hi friend by the way this is shale, leliana, sten, dog, zeveren and dead wynne , doesnt make much sense

Be interesting if 'non save transfer' orlesian grey warden has a confirmed 'canon' or whether they get a choice akin to people starting ME2

Can see it now, Grey Warden at Amaranthine giving the Orlesian an interview wanting them to answer some questions about their knowledge of Ferelden.

Warden: "So who is the ruler of Ferelden?"
Orlesian:
1: Alistair
2: Anora
3: Alistair and Anora

Warden: "Whom is the Grey Warden Commander of Ferelden?"
1: Loghain
2: Alistair
3: Me?

Warden: "Whom is the ruler of Orzammar?" (ok this might not be on there because is Orzammar really relevant for this?)
1: Harrowmont
2: Bhelen

Warden: "Whom killed the Archdemon?"
1: Bob the Grey warden
2: Alistair
3: Loghain

Warden: "What happened to the Circle Tower of Ferelden?"
1: It got destroyed
2: The Templars are running it
3: The Mages were given free reign

Warden: "Thank you, you have passed the test, move along to see Commander <insert whomever player chose as warden Commander> for further briefing."

Be kind of interesting if they covered most bases on the emphasis of the Warden surviving, though I am definitly intrigued as to whether the Warden is forced to take command even if chose another option.

The main ennemy seem to be the Architech .. But i though he was not a vilain in the book .. More like a middle class .. Not against and not for either side.

Good stuff. I'm really curious if we can get any information concerning the new region Amaranthine. I'm very pleased it doesn't take place in Ferelden. A completely new land is worth buying an expansion, especially if it's up to spec with the original game.

The Hazians are everywhere

The last time I checked, the Amaranthine was part of Ferelden.

Where did you find that bit of info if I may be so curious?
Based on the map of Ferelden, the only noteworthy resemblance is the "Amaranthine Ocean".
Cheers for the info.

Alistair isn't king in my version of the story, I will be severely disappointed in the expansion (possibly up to a point of 'not going to play') if he suddenly would appear as the king. There is a reason for why I kicked him out of Denerim/Ferelden and I would very much like it that the expansion will also reflect my choices on that matter.

Amaranthine is the realm of Arl Rendon Howe, former Arl of Amaranthine, and it lies exactly near that Amaranthine ocean, to the northeast costal region of Ferelden

I've played 3 endings, in the first Leliana leaves and goes after the urn of Sacred Ashes. in one of them Shale goes back to the deep roads. in another she is seen up north as a dwarf, killing pigeons. It seemslike there is quite  a lot of varienty in the endings. :)

Oh indeed there are a ton of possibilities.

dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Epilogue

Obvious spoilers, but it shows all the possibilities. Like I said, Oghren, Alistair, Lel, and Zev are the only constants, meaning most of their epilogues place them somewhere in Denerim/Fereldan, usually with some connection still remaining with the Warden. That's why I say I'd be surprised if these four weren't in the game in some capacity if your choices allowed it, especially if you went the romance path with either of the last three.

At the same time everyone and myself could be overstating the relevance of the epilogues. Perhaps the Bioware folks have their leashes loose enough that they can give us an idea of how much, if any, attention and focus we should look at towards the epilogues.

Exactly.  If my assumption is correct, it lies near Dragon's Peak.  North of the Brecilian Forest.

Some random comments.
Only one companion in Awakening has been seen in Origins. The rest are new characters we hope you'll enjoy bunches.
The Inferno Golem and the Spectral Dragon are just two of the new creatures in the expansion. Expect more info and screenshots in the weeks to come. :)

Perhaps this is tricky wording to throw us off track, and I know it's already been said, but it is disappointing to think only one of the Origins companions is available in Awakening. The ending of Origins left many of our characters with ties to OC companions, and promises of staying together. I understand the financial issues with including characters that might not exist in a savegame, and the need to bring in "fresh blood" from a marketing standpoint, but I'm still disappointed.

I expect what the Orlesian GW learns with regard to the Blight will be "canon", and the fates of the OC companions will be dependent upon that. I suppose we'll just have to live with a Dear John letter or a couple lines of dialogue from other NPC's telling us our OC companions are off some dangerous mission, eh?

I don't think that is in the 5 year plan... So I would say doubtful at the moment, but who knows, they may surprise us

I've been thinking about this. I'm going to buy and play the expansion no matter what but if I get stuck with Leliana as the only playable member of my former party... She's useful but so annoying. From a logical (and maybe not so logical) standpoint, Alistair is the most apt to be part of your party. He's also a Grey Warden. But then again, he was really the one member of your group of companions that was guaranteed. So maybe they want to go in another direction. Then again this is an expansion, not Dragon Age 2, right? So rather than redo everything, shouldn't we just be building upon what we already have and make it better? In that case, Alistair really should be there. Plus the guy is just freaking useful.

And I couldn't even begin to count all the females that would go into girly nerdrage if he's not there in some huge capacity.

Guess that would be true for any of the 4 romances , just the nerd group differs, but the rage stays the same any way

Because I think this just has to be answered by someone

Warden: "So who is the ruler of Ferelden?"
Orlesian:
1: Alistair
2: Anora
3: Alistair and Anora (X)

Warden: "Whom is the Grey Warden Commander of Ferelden?"
1: Loghain
2: Alistair
3: Me? (X)

Warden: "Whom is the ruler of Orzammar?" (ok this might not be on there because is Orzammar really relevant for this?)
1: Harrowmont
2: Bhelen (X)

Warden: "Whom killed the Archdemon?"
1: Bob the Grey warden (X)
2: Alistair
3: Loghain

Warden: "What happened to the Circle Tower of Ferelden?"
1: It got destroyed
2: The Templars are running it (X) <---- I kinda regret this choice, they were useless in the final battle
3: The Mages were given free reign

I would be very sad if only ONE character carries over from the original Origins, especially if you import your Grey Warden. What happens if you were in a relationship? Is that just discounted? do you leave your SO at home while you go and rebuild the Grey Wardens? *sighs* what would my PC do without her Zevran? :-)

players can continue their adventures from Dragon
Age: Origins,
or begin with a brand new character.

Imagine if we will see our old character(created in DA:O) in our party.
So we can start a new char from land of Orlais and the old one comes too like a party member.

Or just to see your old char like a NPC that gives a quest.

I may be very wrong, of course, but I think that only one character from Origin will be a *playable companion*. This doesn't mean, I hope, that other Origins' characters can't be in the game as non-recruitable NPC.

I hope it is so, 'cause I too will be disappointed not having Zev back.

How do disc-based expansions on the PS3 work (and 360, for that matter)? Do you just need the install from DAO still on your HD?

Anyone know?

I really hope this will be good and not an easy way to rack up the dough. 40$ is pretty big for an expansion. Illl wait for the reviews but if this is good Ill buy it. The most important aspect for me is the storyline, because if it weak it just shows the developers have become lazy and just want some more dough. Nevertheless I am excited for this expansion

I also want to know how they are going to incorporate all the endings to the expansion. I mean if they try to change something then it makes all the choices kind of lame and not important

I also wonder this.  I had asked the question about the female human noble marrying Alistair and becoming Queen / Princess-Consort and how that would be addressed.  I still want to know about that.  Also, what outcomes would each choice you made in Origins have on the story of Awakening?  I think that every singe choice you made  in Origins should have some direct impact on the events in Awakening.

This is where I think Bioware might take an easy way out because then it would be very complicated lol, but I then I never have  played a Bioware expansion before.

they closed it cause more and more people were voicing their distress in a very unpolite way,  so there's no blaming them i guess
