Some random comments.
Only one companion in Awakening has been seen in Origins. The rest are new characters we hope you'll enjoy bunches.
The Inferno Golem and the Spectral Dragon are just two of the new creatures in the expansion. Expect more info and screenshots in the weeks to come.
That's a bit disappointing that only one companion is coming back. Is there any chance that some Origins companions (besides Alistair in the trailer) may return as NPCs? Especially if you've completed one of the non-Morrigan romances, it seems like there would have to be an awfully good reason for your SO to not be with you or at least nearby.

I know you can import your original Warden but are you able to import your items and equipment as well. My group has some good items and I'd hate to lose all the items I found and the items I stored into my chest at the Wardens Keep.
You'll keep your items on you but you'll need to grab what you want from the chest at the Keep if you want to bring it along.

Allistar shows up twice in the trailer. I think the assumption is that since only 1 party member follows you, the others are busy doing other things. Can you visit them as NPCs? I wouldn't be shocked.
I hear Morrigan is running a bar for Templars called Morrigan's.

After watching the trailer and hearing about the darkspawn that talks, I think it would be cool if this darkspawn turns out to be your child that you created with Morgan if you completed the dark pact. I would like to see your party consisting of Lelliana if you harded her, Alister if he is still alive, Zev if you convinced him to stay and your dog. I became really attached to dog, I also think Morgan should return to your party no matter what.
Sorry to say, but your hopes about the talking darkspawn will be dashed. The Architect (aka the talking darkspawn), is a character from The Calling. Even if the talking darkspawn in the vid happens to be a different intelligent darkspawn, then it's merely an aberration like The Architect itself and is in no way, shape or form Morrigan's child (which has the soul of an untainted, uncorrupted Old God and would not be a darkspawn in any event - "untainted" being a key word).

This was no doubt a joke, but I think it would be an interesting twist if Duncan returned as some undead Darkspawn who tried to now convince you that everything you think you know about the Grey Wardens and the Darkspawn is wrong.
Ah, no. If you read The Calling, it's made clear that Wardens do not actually die because of the taint but that they end up being transformed by it if nature is allowed to take its natural course and their lives are not ended early. IF, big if, The Architect were directly involved in the attack at Ostagar, it is conceivalbe that Duncan could have been captured, but given the big guy with the axe coming at Duncan before the screen goes white...I'm a little dubious about his survival. If he's dead, he's staying dead. Mind you, The Architect itself says that it has limited abilities at controlling the "normal" darkspawn; therfore, I'm not sure it could have directed any of them to capture Duncan (possible, but not likely with such a chaotic situation).

I doubt it's the Architect, though I may be wrong. In fact, I don't think it's a darkspawn at all. If you read The Calling, you'll know what I'm implying.

Oh yes, good point. It's quite possible that it's, ahem, also a you-know-what, a subject that I touched upon in my other post. I probably should have listed the third option as an alternative, so let us amend that to it being either The Architect, a similar aberration like The Architect (I did add in that "even if" possibility up there), or...the transformation option (let's put it that way - though I suppose I was blunt enough in the other post to just say it outright technically). Still, it's definitely, not, not, NOT Morrigan's child. - heh.

Super fast aging and maturity, even if magically explained, is always lame. Look at Twilight. Or better yet, don't look at Twilight. Just take my word for it.
And while we're discussing lame things, why does this great puppet master have to be named The Architect? Or am I the only one still with a bad taste in my mouth from Matrix Reloaded?

Apparently, the level cap has been raised from 20 to mid or late 30s. That definitely says something about the duration of the campaign, so I have a feeling that the expansion won't be 15 hours long.
Edit: Ignore this post. Go down to the next.

Not necessarily, I'm assuming they have more then one expansion planned if one is already being released so early in this games cycle. They just want to give it one hard bump and keep it set up fine for the next one. But the level cap isn't 20 anyways it's 25, so whoever gave that Q&A must not have much of a clue on whats going on.
I'm going to guess that eventually they will make what happens in
Morrigan's ending canon. It sets the game up great for a sequel.
If creating a canon ending was indeed in their long term plans I don't understand why they wouldn't have canonized it for the expansion instead of doing all the extra work required to bring the choices over.

I'd be very happy if there was no true ending, but that would take so much programming.

Sorry, my bad. My character beat the game when he was at level 20.

*SPOILERS!! (as the rule in this forum about spoilers seems to have been waived for this particular topic)
I think perhaps youa re not taking into consideration that the expansionw ill begin with characters that are already at, or near, the original level cap. Raising the cap 5 levels is hardly an enormous amount, and I can easily see my Warden gaining five levels in 15 hours.
A subject I haven't seen much discussion about in here is the fate of Loghain. In one of my endings, HE'S the one that does the massive recruitment push for the Wardens after my MC dies in the process of killing the Archdemon. Now, that doesn't necessarly translate into him being the leader of the Grey Wardens in Ferelden (in fact, given we know that the Commander will be from Orlais if your MC dies at the end of Origins, it's as much a given as anything is, at this point) but it certainly means he's presence will be felt. Or should be. We've been told that our choices carry over, yes? Yes. So Loghain could be alive, kicking, and recrutiing. I want to see him, if this is true. I wouldn't automatically want to recruit him. I get the feeling the focus of the expansion will be on you and the new Grey Recuits, ratrher than on any older characters.
Now that I think of that, that premise would explain why some of the party members from Origins might not be among your traveling companions. They aren't joing the Grey Wardens, afterall, so they're good, trusted friends of yours, but they aren't part of your new duties.
Also, it occurs to me that we have no idea how much time passes between the end of DA:O and the begining of the expansion. A month? A year? TWO years? How much time did the Bhallspawn spend in Suldanessallar? before the begining of ToB?
Hm. <_<
So many questions. Roughly two months until they can be answered.

Except they're talking about raising it to 35-39 and not 30.
But yes, I do agree lot's of stuff that will be interesting to see how it plays out. People may knock it for it's length but this seems like a very ambitious project for an expansion.

Funny that darkspawn can talk now, I felt like I wish I could hear them talk throughout the entire game, but it also gave them a barbaric feel to only hear grunts and snarls.
Your company is truly a work of art, again, thank you and I sit here with an immense anticipation for this expansion and your future projects within the Dragon Age universe.
