I just don't want Bioware to forget the old characters because they wanna try something new and exciting with the new characters.
PS: What about DLC and characters like Shale? Are they all lost when we make the jump to Awakening and if so than wouldn't that mean that DLC is worthless in the end?
exactly my thoughts. I mean why are the wardens based in vigil (or is it sigil?) keep? Shouldnt they be based out of Wardens keep?

Fernando Melo, quick question re your interview with IGN: You said " It is by far the biggest expansion that we'll be releasing"
Does this mean out of all the dragon age expansions? Or that we'll be releasing up to that point? I was hoping for a couple "Awakening" type titles. Any-who, looking forward to it!
Any response to this Melo? Just curious

OMFG this is going to be awesome already i cant wait, damn march 16th beeing a short while away
I really do hope Morrigan returns because through all my play throughs i always go after here and my charater always vows to find her and i get the epilouge with her beeing preggers with the demon, anti christ thing but her also regreting leaving me and all that. I think thats kinda cool so i would really love to see morrigan in the expansion and the reationship able to contuine, and the demon baby would be . . . intreasting to say the least but come on Bioware you know you love morrigan too

If I import a character into Awakening and continue play him, will the Story section of my character profile continue to add on from where it ended in Origins? This would be cool, kind of a complete life story for my character. Or will there be a new Story / Spells / Skills section for Awakening?

I'd imagine you would have to be able to go through the main game as an Orlesian.
There is no information to indicate that this Origin will be added to the Main Game.
Please, lets avoid jumping to any conclusions which may turn out to be incorrect. That only leads to unmet expectations and disapointment... which would be unfortunate for such people because this expansion is sounding like it's going to be excelent :-)
I wouldnt say we are jumping to conclusions.. we are mearly.. discussing the possibilites on how what we do know about the expantion will work and fit into the game play... its more speculations then anything really... and that is mix in, in between the posts about what we would like to see in the add on.
Agreed. In my case I grew to love all characters so I will be extremly sad if I'll have to start nurturing new relationships with new characters...
I totally agree.

all I want to know is what happen if I sacreficed my pc at the end.
do I really have to create a new character?
is my pc going to "awake"?
for instance, if my pc had romance interest and sacrefice his/herself at the end,
is the romance going to continue? I highly doubt it.
I really hope you're actually dead, otherwise it makes your self sacrifice pointless & we'll end up with the same lame intro as Fallout 3 expansions. Just completely defeats the point of sacrificing yourself if you expect a magical resurrection. If Wynne used the last of her life force bound to the spirit to rez you sacrificng herself now that would be interesting.

I'm wondering the same thing too. I would like to start as a new PC from Orlais, even though my character survived(few of them anyway on multiple playthroughs)TeleProd wrote...
I'm interested in if I can start as an Orlesian Warden even if my character survived. My character went travelling with Leliana to get away from the Blight, the politics and being a hero. So, I would prefer to play a new character rather than continuing with the old one. I'm also interested in how the game would react to this.
*spoilers*
In none of my endings did I decide to rebuild the Grey Wardens and I bet lots of people did not choose it either.
What happens if you told Sten you'll be traveling with him to his land? Or what if you didn't trust Morrigan and decided to track her down?
*end spoilers*
In those kind of endings starting as a new PC seems more appropriate(at least for me anyway).

Yes, it's a possible from what I've read in an interview. It will be just like a new game, so you won't be able to continue the story from your previous campaign imo.

Just a thought... If you were to start a new Orlesian warden and opt not to continue your old Warden's story, does that mean they will chose a "canon" ending for that scenario? Or possibly the "new" origin would be done in such a way as to not make it clear who is actually King/Queen and who killed the Archdemon. Interesting thing to ponder.

an interesting and not so difficult way would be just to reload an old save game from the character that sacrificed him-/herself. That way, the character would still be dead and you play the new Orlesian Grey Warden, but all the choices he/she made through DAO would carry over and influence the world of the new PC. As they already implement the reload of an old character, that should not be such a difficult feature to implement and it would greatly contribute to the experience imo

I heard that they are planning only 6 potential followers. I really hope they reconsider this, as interaction with all the various followers is what keeps this game interesting for me. Considering we have the potential of ten with the original, I see six as being only 60% of the original game. In that case, they should not charge more than $30 for it.
And here we go again with nonsensical calculations of cost and content...
Don't see how that's a valid point at all. Maybe there's only 6 party members but you get MORE time/dialog with each of them. More does not always equal good. I've played games with 40+ potentially recruitable characters that I didn't feel nearly as satisfied by as games with only 3-4 extremely developed ones.
If it bothers you that much, wait 'til it comes out and people start to review it before buying it.

But, from the interview, here : http://uk.pc.ign.com.../1058656p1.html
They said that, you will "hear" rumors of what became previous companions cause you know, the new origin is to start already has a grey warden from Orlais, not a newbie, but a commander o.o
