Sure, but that also means you will have to fight the archdemon with three naked companions.XOGHunter246 wrote...
Does this mean that old companions will have to be stripped to keep the gear?

I kind of feel like we need an Awakening forum. A 50-page thread just won't do if you want to start a dialogue about something. And I feel like posting in the other forums would be spam.
I agree. Preferably something where spoilers are allowed so we can dig deeper into the plot. Maybe once more info on the game gets released?

OMFG this is going to be awesome already i cant wait, damn march 16th beeing a short while away
I really do hope Morrigan returns because through all my play throughs i always go after here and my charater always vows to find her and i get the epilouge with her beeing preggers with the demon, anti christ thing but her also regreting leaving me and all that. I think thats kinda cool so i would really love to see morrigan in the expansion and the reationship able to contuine, and the demon baby would be . . . intreasting to say the least but come on Bioware you know you love morrigan too
You are with Morrigan like I am with Alistair. I miss my hubby! hahaha. I understand making some of the cast leave but Morrigan and Alistair were the main 2 allies of the game that were there from the beginning and I do not want to lose either one of them. I think Morrigan will come back eventually. That child is going to have to tie in sometime or another.
It is just, I married Alistair and wanted to continue adventuring as King and Queen and stuff. He made this game so much more fun for me with his quirky remarks and sense of humor. Morrigan did as well with being the awesome **** she is. Haha.
I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Can't be that hard, can it? Just strip them before the killing blow is dealt.
Of course, I don't know how this works out in 360/PS3 versions so I'm talking PC only.

Plus even without a million pots it is easy to solo the archdemon. just summon the mages they'll kill all the badies around while you work on the archdemon!!!!
Wait why would we have to strip them? Shouldn't we have a little money being the leader of the Grey Warden's & all? not rich but a shiny penny?

NO, which why ive decided not to bother myself. IGN interview clearly lists her in same sentence as "cameo" role.
My only concern is DLC now, will future dlc require the awakening expansion?

[SPOILERS][SPOILERS][SPOILERS][SPOILERS]
1. Will this be a continuation of DA:O and will it be integrated well even if you have completed the game?
2. Will Morrigan be there? I ask this because it really angers me when she is in the camp after you've completed the game.
3. Will your end game decision effect it, say, Alistair is now king or your king e.t.c.
Thanks

Apparently, the level cap has been raised from 20 to mid or late 30s. That definitely says something about the duration of the campaign, so I have a feeling that the expansion won't be 15 hours long.
Edited.

as far as i understood that interview, for now they will keep the returning party member a secret, which could include Leliana up til today. The very fact that her name is mentioned is just cause it was included in the question.
So right now, everyone is possible.
If you believe her to be a returning party member is a question of who do you think is most likely? But she has a good chance making a cameo, and that is not that bad either, given some others might be completley missing, is it?
And i am just speculating now, but given the fact that you can load your old character to Awakening expansion but cannot reload him back to DAO cause of some character chances, my giuess is the chances are pretty high that future dlc will base on the Awakening expansion. But as i said, this is oure guessing from my side, and if i am wrong, pls anyone correct me.

For what its worth many/I agree with that. Heres the exact quote from page 02 of IGN.
Fernando Melo: In regards to your first example, you will have some connection to the fact that you were a noble. I'll leave that very vague so I don't spoil anything, but basically because you now have ownership of this area of the world, there is a feudal hierarchy that will take place. You'll see nobles come to you, etc, so there is already some recognition of the fact that you're coming from noble blood there, as opposed to if you're a commoner or from one of the other races. There's already some tension there even though they respect your position and rule.
With regards to things like Leliana; again, there are some cameos -- there is one party member that returns that can join your party and continue on. I think we're trying to keep that under wraps until a little bit closer to launch though.
If leliana was in, that would also mean Zevran, Alistair and Morrigan would be in... or do you think they would continue just one possible romance character out of four? when there are already moans about no morrigan?
seems unlikely doesnt it? especially given no fullstop between leliana - cameo.? hardly a leap of faith required here.

A cameo will most likely be a death, or some lame excuse why she cant join your party. Would you want to see that?

The epilogue save which is created after you've completed the game takes place BEFORE the battle in Denerim. I.e Morrigan hasn't left yet.Mackey18 wrote...

1. From what they say in the Awakening Q&A, this is a different campaign. You can finish the first campaign(5th. blight) and then hop to the Awakening Campaign or you could simply not do the first campaign at all and skip to the second campaign. So even if you finish the game(I assume by that you mean the first campaign), the Awakening campaign will still be there. And yes, as said in the Q&A, it will be the continuation of the first game.
2. Morrigan probably won't. Most of your older companions will just make brief cameo appearances. This expansion has nothing to do with her. She's gone.
3. As BioWare said int the Q&A, it's not just the endgame choices that affect what happens in the expansion. It's EVERY choice that you made in Origins. As said in the interview:
Fernando Melo:But one of the things that we wanted to do with Dragon Age as a franchise is that it's all based on choices and consequences. So there is a lot of reactivity to things that you've done in Origins if you choose to import that character. Of course, that will depend on the decisions you made and at what point you're importing them into Awakening. For instance, if you're coming from the end game save, then there's going to be a lot more reactivity, including [Spoilers Ahead!] right down to the very choices of how the Archdemon was defeated and who you put on the throne and all that kind of stuff -- hopefully that's not going to spoil it for you! If you choose to import from a much earlier point, then there may not be as much reactivity, but you'll hear about certain rumors.

1.It will be either Allister or Morrigan because all the other companions were not mandatory companions and may not have even been in the wardens company at the end of the game.
2. It probably wont be Allister because of the fact that he is either dead, the king or no longer a grey warden. In the case he is the king he will most likely be too busy to be a companion because he is running everything. In the case that he is no longer a grey warden because of the way he was betrayed i don't think he would return. I think he will be in the game but not as a companion.
3. Morrigan seems likely because she was not only a pretty main character in the game. She has a reason to return because of the whole child thing. She is also in no way able to be killed off during the games story line. I also think she's an essential character although i could be wrong because i've never actually said n o to her joining or fought it in anyway. So i think given these reasons Morrigan will be returning.
Any thoughts?

Key phrases....."players can continue their adventures from Dragon Age, OR begin with a brand new party"
Just to add to the confusion.

You can start a new character, or you can transfer over.
If you transfer over, would it be that Morrigan remembers you, and you can carry on with the storyline, or would it be as if she didn't know you in the first place - as I'd imagine it would be with new character creation.
Please, post your thoughts.
