I think the game will follow a "canon" ending.

I really don't see how they could do anything else short of making a dozen different beginnings based on your import. Which seems unlikely.

So even though Bioware has said a thousand times in this forum that the expansion imports your choices and the world in Awakening will be built on your choices, you still think it's going to have a canon ending?

Do you really think BIOWARE is going to have a dozen or more possible beginnings to this expansion pack?  How much time would it take to do that?  Hell if it's going to take into consideration all the possible endings when importing your character, you better expect to see this game some time in 2012 considering a "little DLC" can't even come out timely :-p

It would be cool and revolutionary, but I agree. It won't happen.

Read the Q&A. BioWare specifically said that every decision made in Origins will affect Awakening, especially the end game.

Well they have said that whoever you decide to become queen/king will impact the expac so i do not think everyone will have the same experience, there are likely other major aspects in the expac that depend on your actions. So when it comes to it yeah it seems like there wont be a canon ending.

And I reiterate, that you have to remember, he's trying to sell a product here.  Of course he's going to dramatize exactly how much of your choices from the original game will actually impact the expansion pack.  And then he will pull and Obi-Wan and be like "so what I told you was true.....from a certain point of view".

Edit: ehh nevermnd its not like this matters at all.

And Gaider said this in another thread:

David Gaider wrote...
I'm not going to go into it. I will
say, however, that EVERY choice you make isn't going to show up -- if
you don't go to Redcliffe at any point in the story, for instance, then
what you did there isn't really going to affect much, is it? But the
short answer is that some of your choices do affect things, yes.

I think you misunderstood exactly what Gaider meant there Junglist. Basically he was saying not all of your choices are going to appear because there is no reason to appear. Why does it matter what you did in Redcliff, the Bercillian Forest, Orzzamar, ect. if you don't go there? He's not saying choices are going to be canonized, rather they simply won't show up because there isn't a need for them to.

I did not missunderstand it at all, I'm just stealing Capt. Obvious role for a second by pointing out that not every decision affects the game.

OK, well you got a point. <_<

But they've been working on like ten unannounced projects lately and they've said so themselves, it's no problem. I mean, who says that they're gonna have to resort to using canon endings when they're having no problem with this stuff? For all we know, they could have just started on making the expansion before the game was released and had no problem doing so. If rumors are correct, the expansion may not be as big in duration as Origins. Who's to say they have to resort to canon endings?

I don't think there is a Canon ending as such. If you didnt take measure to prevent *it* you will play as an Orlesian Grey Warden, otherwise your decisions will be as they are which should lock down some choices. Its a bit weird though I agree since my character said he was going off in search of someone.

I'm sure at some point in Awakening we'll see almost all of our companions from Origin. Sadly only one can join our party most likely Alistair or loghain from the trailer...plus it makes sense to me considering you meet Alistair first.

Since this expansion requires the player of rebuilding The Grey Wardens. It would be nice to have large scale battles in this expansion or future expansions. If they link each campaign as one gigantic story line, this will be the biggest if not the greatest rpg to date. Probably bigger than any mmo currently.

Personally I just think it'd be a terrible waste if they didn't maker her and her story the center of a game/expansion and I'm not even a fan of Morrigan.

I hope so. In the trailer, it seem's like he's king, but on page 6 they said the ending of Origins affects the Awakening. I'm going to be disappointed if the relationships aren't played out like they are in the end. :(

BioWare has even stated that people overrate Morrigan's whole role in the series. Her plot isn't really all that important. And you forget, not everybody chose to take the ritual.
