I just relised something since you can upload your old charactr you would have to do the morrigins ritual, since you have a son that might be somewhat darkspawn and in the trailer it shows a darkspawn that can talk and its called the awakening the awakining of the darkspawn within anybody agree?

Bioware didnt put enough faith in their creations to begin with, its clear alot of people will be disappointed.

Morrigan fans.
Leliana fans.
Alistair fans.
Zevran fans.
And the others who dont make it in.

When all will be reduced to 2d cameos in the expansion. Its crazy to think somehow they will cater for all those on a small budget in a few months.  Origins needs a sequel not an expansion. Theres just too much loose ends.

No doubt some will be happy if they liked *insert* returning character turns out to be their favorite.

You don't actually have to make the ritual to survive. You could let Alistair or the secret party member kill the Archdemon.

You can survive without doing the ritual. You just need someone else doing it such as Alistair or Lohgain. And again, in the Q&A, BioWare said that the expansion takes place shortly after Origins. By the time Awakening starts, Morrigan will probably still be pregnant. Besides, Awakening could mean anything. For example, it could refer to the new breed of Darkspawn coming about. Also, the epilogue makes it clear that Morrigan was heading far away from Ferelden as in Orlais. That's a completely opposite direction from Amarathine.

Just because Allistair is in the trailer doesn't mean he'll be in the expansion for everyone.

Maybe there making the second game or another expac focused more on the companions.

Edit: and we don't know how long awakening has been in development.

I like the idea of a expansion, a sequel just doesnt seem right

They're probably still in pre-production on DA2. Making expansions however shouldn't be a problem for them considering that they have ten unannounced projects on the works and even said so themselves that they are having no problem with it at all. They could have just started on the expansion before the game was released.

I will absolutley be disapointed if I don' thave the option to bring along companions from the original game.  I do look forward to trying out some new companions, but I really like a couple of the exising ones.

So do we all but its something we'll have to live with since only one will return as a companion. Its like playing baldurs gate 3 without minsc.

Bringing companions back wouldn't be a problem if this game didn't rely on VA.

I say they should add old companions even if there is no VA, I don't mind. Reading the dialogue is good enough If it means I get to see returning party members. Plus the money they save not hiring the VA could go to improve other areas. I.E. Your own voice actor. LOL.

I DARE bioware to make a POLL on the Matter of  VAs vs Returning companions.

I would hate them not having voices there not the same without them.

I could do without voice acting as I usually just read the subtiltes and press esc as soon as I've finished reading them. But I still wouldn't choose old companions over voice acting though.

Excellent post MassEffect.

Agreed, It didnt bother me in Baldurs or Neverwinter which used *Half* the voice work. Frankly I didnt listen to every word that was voiced in Origins.. headphones off reading the dialogue form for the most part.

Understandable. Is that your final answer?

Think about it, returning character with no VA or no returning character at all.
