Bringing companions back wouldn't be a problem if this game didn't rely on VA.
I say they should add old companions even if there is no VA, I don't mind. Reading the dialogue is good enough If it means I get to see returning party members. Plus the money they save not hiring the VA could go to improve other areas. I.E. Your own voice actor. LOL.
I DARE bioware to make a POLL on the Matter of VAs vs Returning companions.
Understandable. Is that your final answer?
Think about it, returning character with no VA or no returning character at all.

Personally, I wouldn't care if the VA was left out if it meant that the old companions were included in the game. I know that it wouldn't happen regardless since Bioware is already far along in the process, but VA doesn't make or break a game for me.

In the trailer Oghren seemed to be clearly a "party member" and not just some stand aside speaking character as Alistair appeared to be.
I highly doubt Oghren is going to be a campanion in the expansion. That could just be something going on and him fighting in the mass of people with you like near the end when you are fighting the Darkspawn in Denerim. You never know but it just wouldn't make sense for them to make Oghren the ONE companion you get to keep.
If anything, it should be one of the main supporting characters which were Morrigan and Alistair and clearly Morrigan does not want to be found so I doubt she will even come into play for a while if she ever does again.
Yea but I am queen.
Also I saved seperately before I crowned anyone as ruler so I can always go back and change it. Go me!

I completely agree! There would be no emotion...just us assuming what they mean by what they say.
Take most of Alistair's dialogue for example, you would think he was being an a-hole when he made his smart remarks when he wasn't.
Morrigan wouldn't be funny b1tchy, she would just seem naggy.

I am honestly expecting this, and I think that it's the best option if Bioware can't include any of the romanceable characters from Origins. Including Dog or Oghren is a better option than including one of Zhevran, Leliana, Alistair, or Morrigan, while leaving the other three out of the game. It would be easy enough for Bioware to have a reasonable reason as to why those characters couldn't go with you.

I know! I kept saying it earlier when I was talking to a friend on XBox Live and then we both just kept randomly saying it....how is it that it gets stuck in people's heads?

Finally watched the trailer. I don't think that's Oghren. I think it may be one of the Silent Sisters with a "boycut." If there's any tie-in to The Calling beyond The Architect, that would make sense, too. As a side note, one of the demons in the trailer looks suspiciously like one you can choose to set free or battle in Ortan Thaig...
I still hope we get an Avvar a-la Kell...

I highly doubt Morrigan will come back. They made it very clear that she wanted to be left alone for a while but she should come back someday.

I don't recall if that demon had a name but I know he had a class, Pride Demon. I hope it is the same one it would be nice to see some old random encounters tied together.

I do want Morrigan to come back though but I know we will all have to wait. Her and that baby will tie in later and if people chose not to do the baby thing then she will come back sometime, somewhere.
I just cannot see it being anyone else besides Alistair. I mean, if you look at it this way him and Morrigan were the first 2 companions you made. On top of that, Alistair is the only other Gray Warden, besides yourself, from Ferelden. Not only that but you guys lost so much together and regained everything back the way we wanted it done. I am one of those players that plays MMOs and doesn't like to play alone. I play hoping I will find at least one person that I can play with that isn't a retard and that has a sense of humor and I stick with them and in a weird kind of way, Alistair was that PC person for me which is crazy. I have never been so taken by a video game and I can be rather picky about the ones that I like and dislike but it is like this game took everything that I love about back in the days and made it real for me. I actually felt like a part of the story. Your character is yours and yours alone as well as the story you portray.
Anyway...I am rambling.

"IGN: Origins has been supported by a large amount of DLC from launch. The most recent of which, Return to Ostagar, has been delayed until the end of January at the earliest. Is there any explanation as to why the delay occurred? Is it solely to release the DLC for all three platforms at the same time, or was there another issue?
Fernando Melo:No, it has nothing to do with platforms themselves. It's a quality issue where, literally, at the last minute, we spotted something that had made it through our own testing, EA's testing and was at Microsoft already. But it applies to all three platforms; it wasn't something specific to Microsoft, we just happened to catch it there first. We probably could have gone with it, but it's something that was serious enough that we felt it impacted the quality [of the DLC] and we made the choice to delay it to give our fans the best experience with it. That was the reason behind [the delay] -- we want to make sure that we don't cut any corners when we do the DLC. There's already a lot of content out, there's a lot more coming -- we just announced the expansion pack, and there's more coming after that. I think the worst thing we could do after that is do anything "to poison the well," to use the expression, or put fans off from feeling that they're getting the best content from us. It's a long term decision instead of a short term decision.
