There's absolutely no way I'm paying full price for this. Even if I have to wait until it drops in price 10-15$ and play Modern Warfare 2 for a few weeks, there is NO WAY I'm buying an "expansion pack" less than two months after the actual game was released, and BEFORE the bugs in the PS3 version are addressed. I'm sure Bioware has put a ton of work and effort into the xpac, and I'm sure it will have a killer story and provide a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the systems it works well on. Still, this feels very much like shamelessly trying to milk Dragon Age's popularity before the money train pulls out of the station.

The version that I played - PS3 - was so plagued with bugs and glitches that at times it's almost unplayable. On the Technical Support forums, help from actual Bioware employees is sporadic at best, and there's been no word of a patch. Yet, they can sink what I would imagine are millions of dollars into episodic content and the associated marketing?

It's very sad; I had much higher expectations for a game of this magnitude from Bioware.

Everyone else must have really ****ty PS3's i didn't notice any slow down and the fame was never almost un playable, my PS3 has never once had a problem and i have had mine for 3 years, i lov emy PS 3 :D

ogijoerag. Me too!

Really? So there's no possible way that the expansion could be worth the money without the earlier romances?

ok so i heard that u can import ur origins char into awakening (cool) so i got 2 saves one where i do it morrigan and dont die and one where i kill the arch daemon and die. so if i chose the one that i have died with can i still continue in awakening with him? (i mean does he come back to life or anything?)

If your char is dead then you will play as a Grey warden from Orlais. Still, the choices you made in DA:O will be reflected in Awakening.

I don't know about that. Gaider kind of backtracked when he "confirmed' that to be the case, said the info he had was old and it was pointed out to him to not be the case. What that means I don't know but the way he worded it it seems the Orlesian Grey Warden will follow a cannon version of the OC, at least if the Warden died. Perhaps it was to much work for so little gain to import a dead characters choices. I could be wrong as Gaider wasn't very clear, just kind of what I picked up.

I just finished reading an article stating that this would be the "largest" of the expansions. That kind of makes me worried since Bioware claimed to have 2 years of DA:O extras planned. But I can understand if it IS, since DA2 is in the works.....

Don't mind me, I'm just greedy for more official DA:O content ;)

Yes what they mean by two year worth of extras is including equips and stuff and like 1 hour DLCs.

I am sure he has already received some nasty comment's from BioWare's marketing team for that.

But i am not so sure if we should treat his line that serious or even if he meant it that way people understood it.

When DA:A is on the market, they still have one and a half year of promised dlc coming up, and i somehow doubt they will just produce small dlc's and items. That would probably too less stuff for way too much time.

I am just speculating, but my personal guess is that his phrase is just misleading and should not be taken literally as the truth about what's to come. But as is said, just personal opinion

40$ is to much, 30$ would be better..

also this is coming out 2 days after Final Fantasy 13, hugely aniticapted game.. So, I''ll wait a month and price drop.

I wonder will we be buying the game at retail store or is for download? For me retail store (EA store)

Best for BioWare/EA would be to offer both retail and DLC for Awakening.

I took that comment as a "This expansion is a hell of a lot bigger then you people think" type thing and while they have other large things planned it simply won't be equal in terms of size.

No need to worry, there's going to be 2 years strong of awesome accessories for your XBox Live Avatar!

No but seriously, maybe the 2 years of extras are referring to those title updates we're waiting for?

What I don't understand is all this economic talk....um didn't they just make a buttload of money off of this game? You're going to tell me that they don't have enough money in their budget to give their fans exactly what they want. If they are so concerned about capturing and maintaining the interest of their customers maybe they should reevaluate their marketing strategies and give the people what they want otherwise Dragon Age will not stand out as much as a game that is based off one's own personal decisions which affects not only the storyline but it allows each character to have his or her own unique story.

This is exactly what I was saying yesterday.

I agree, mine is fine, has never froze, or anything works fine, and i've also had mine for 3 years. And it is good to see that DLC is so frequently announced by Bioware, (i cannot say released beacuse apart from the DLC that were around when the game first came out no new peices have come out only announced and delayed)

They owe us a free expansion after all the crap we have had to put up with. Besides isn''t that what really seperates us from the pirates of the www. The fact we invest in this company and it's games and then we are rewarded with content???? Companies need to find new ways to keep us interested in buying games, not deterring from it

they owe us a free copy cause they delayed RtO twice?
I don't like that delay either, but i am sure that just not did that simply to annoy and anger players cause of serious quality issues, and i'd rather wait a week or two longer to enjoy a bug-free gaming experience than a release that is unplayable.
People are sometimes acting like BioWare is constantly delaying all of it's DAO dlc, but as far as i know, RtO is the first one, so before you make a judgement on DAO stuff being constantly delayed, maybe we wait to see what happens to the next chapters that are announced before we declare they never make it on time?
And they owe us nothing, exactly like we owe them nothing and we are not forced to buy any of their stuff if we don't want to

Agreed 100%, This game is amazing for the soul fact that you can create
these wonderful relationships with NPC's, My PC is currently traveling
the world with Leliana, I'd like their relationship to remain intact, I
would be VERY upset if our beloved romances ended up being cast aside
for new romances to take place. Bioware, you did such a great job
captivating all of us with your magnificent characters (Leliana,
Morrigan, Zeveran,Alister) , so PLEASE do not just cast them aside,
instead let us continue our romances and relationships with them and
maybe let us marry them, if not in an expansion, at least in a sequel. Oh, and thanks for such a fantastic game!:)

I'd wish that all the old party members can come. Everyone has it's own great ability. Morrigan - Good and strong mage. Sten - Lots of strength. Alistar was very good with shield. But it's possible to start a new character , right? I don't like my old one's face.

Will there be a new mabari war dog? I hope I don't need to leave my old dog :P.

I second this! The romances is what made me love the game. Even if I am a female gamer, I enjoy games without romances and such but I have never played a game that made romancing seem so real and amazing. Alistair captured almost everything I love in a real man but I liked him for his quirkiness too.

You can start a new character or import your old one.
