I've seen the pics before. But I do not see the logic of adding a companion that was hardly an old favorite.

Meh, imo he'd look a lot prettier with a triple chin and 8 ******

We don't know everything about Darkspawn after all. A guy brood mother may be possible
And who is to say we've definitively proven that Duncan is a guy anyway? Has anyone checked? Duncan may simply be an abnormally tall female dwarf!

You need a worldwide poll to really prove the favorite and plus maybe there more of a story to Oghren then you think and the expansion may explain it more.

the ghost guy is loghain in the preview.  because in the preview allister is king. which that means loghain died if you watch the preview closely it looks like loghain raises some sort of army as a ghost.
as for the blonde elf girl in the human noble origin gets killed and in any of the origins her daughter is waiting for her in the alienage. the return origin character looks like oghren from the previews and I think that is why when the video came out originally they tried to pull it but too many people copied it and it was too late.

You can get rid of all companion but Alistair, Oghren just does not have any way of dying otherwise.

there are, as far as we know, no such things as canon endings, neither one, nor two or three.

And how the old favorite is determinded depends on how broad or narrow BioWare takes the word favorite. If they take it in a broader sense of it's meaning, it just includes the characters that were the most present throughout the game, which is your complete party.
Now if they take it in a more narrow sense of the word, and if the polls, votes and groups here have to mean anything, it all comes down to 4 former party members.
Whatever it is, we'll have to wait and see, cause despite that Oghren is maybe visible in the trailer, that alone does not indicate it will be him, and even if so, it could just be his cameo appearance

I think the same. No one should assume that he's the returning companion until bioware announces so.

All I can someone WILL be disappointed as all characters have fans. To satisfy you all would be to make the party size of 14.

it has to be oghren really, even though i wold much rather have morrigon, lelian, the dog or shale



but you can kill wynne, zevran,

allistar can die

you are not forced to recruit the dog,

not everyone will have shale due to the fact she is a dlc character

morrigon more then likely wont be in it due to her situation in one of the games endings

and i assume leliana and sten die if you carry on the game until lothering is attacked without recruiting them



simple as...its definately oghren



i just hope my love interes (leliana) makes an appearance, i mean she did ask me in my ending , if she could stay with me as i help rebuild the wardens, which is obviously what the awakening is set on. but she also says she would travel anywhere with you...

Alistair had several appearances but that does not mean he's the returning companion.

"I Rather Miss Darspawn Killing" - Alistar in the trailer. i rest my case.

and actualy alistar will be in the expansion just not play'able....

"You Have Quite a Task Ahead of You" - Alistar at the end of the trailer, why did he say that? if he would be the play'able he would say We Have....

punishment? you sacrificed yourself for the wellbeing of Ferelden and the entirety of Thedas! You rarely know the full implication of your sacrifice. Thats why my character did the "dark" ritual. extra chance at trying to kill the archdemon and to be there to help out with the aftermath.
whats the worth of sacrifice if you didn't look at it as the definite end for that character?

I said it before, i simply doubt BioWare is that stupid of making the returning companion a secret and than revealing him in the very first trailer accidently cause no one in the whole company who watched this vid ever noticed (ehhh... maybe we should cut Oghren out to not reveal our secret companion).

He can still be the returning companion and is one of my best guesses, but not because he seem to appear in a trailer.

There are 3 people in the video including Oghren I am pretty sure it him why would he be in the party getting ready to fight that Spectral Dragon If he was not the Old favorite returning.

From what I've seen so far i think we'll have a chice regarding which one charavter we bring to Awakening. Personally I rather despise Oghren and there is no reason for the dog not to be available to return.....and the other gray warden.....presuming he doesn't hold a special position of power to keep him bussy.....this mostly applies to the one you can recruit late in the game.....the late game recruitable warden is the one I really want to have as my companion in awakening.

Now the title of the thread does say *POSSIBLE SPOILERS* but I hope that is a clean enough description and still undertandable by those who have played the game.
