I kid, I hope these new mentioned abilities also include the option perhaps of using one handed weapons in two hands, that would be cool.
Or the introduction of new weapon types, such as the half and half sword for those new abilities, but I doubt, there would be a need for a new set of animations I reckon, after all.

This sums it all up well, it's actually been said by the dev that just because a 1:38 trailer doesn't show all possible choices being reflected, doesn't mean all choices won't be reflected.

@Darth: This comment was made by David Gaider about why you won't have the option to choose your companion. It's way beyond fan speculation, it wasn't done simply because it would have been an immense waste of limited resources.

While I'm sure it would be thrilling, having
multiple companions that we would need to write up in their entirety
only to allow you to have ONE of them would be a massive waste of
resources. Considering that the budget for an expansion is already
pretty small, it's not really feasible.

Aside from an Orlesian Warden being playable if you want, there isn't a single mentition of Orlais in Awakening so I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that Orlais will play a big factor.

Well it's suposed to be a 15 hour expansion and I highly doubt that the main story lasts 15 hours so chances are there will be side quests.....if not a 15 hour main story is pretty damn good in my book.....that would make it as long if not longer than the main story of DAO.

 Devs tend to exaggerate on lengths of game it more like 7-9 hours for a someone who plays it a lot .

If you import your DAO character.....provided he survived the game....then you don't need to worry about being French....err I mean Orlesian.

Nah, the 15 hour thing is an unconfirmed rumor put up on the Czech site that was wrong on almost every other detail it listed. Don't really know how long the expansion will take.

If you import your DAO character.....provided he survived the game....then you don't need to worry about being French....err I mean Orlesian.

Very true, but I do reckon I'd want to try that angle of the story at some point though, can't have all my little PC's survive well I could but where would the fun be in that?
Also Riordan was bad ass, had a nice voice too I thought, gruff though accented slightly. Though I wonder why he had an Irish name, as I thought them only to be used in Ferelden.

Which in this day and age could mean a 15 hour campaign mind you. Alot of games, alot of GREAT games are around that 8 or ten hour mark.

In the same interview he also talked about the level upping up to the mid to high 30's, on the same leveling system following a similar pace that's quite a long time to chew through. I've said it before, looks more like 30 hours or so then 15.

I will only believe anything said about it length closer to the release when people have a solid review on it. I think I stop my speculation for today and wait till a real review comes out.

I wouldnt say 30 hours, but 15 is a long time. took me about 27 i think to beat the game, and i did most of the side quests - that felt long to me. This is about half of that, so i won't exactly be disappointed or anything. After reading the IGN interview, I'm more interested in it now. The interview even showed how Bioware wants the choices you make to impact subsequent games.

In every epilogue possible Loghain eventually dies, whether he survives the Landsmeet and the Archdemon. I think if he survives both he becomes a major recruiter for the Grey Wardens before eventually going into the Deep Roads to die fighting. So with Awakening taking places months after the end of Origins, probably "after" the epilogues, I don't see Loghain returning unfortunately.

Nobody knows when EXACTLY Awakening takes place, only months after Origins, so who knows?

I don't see where it's a new Orlesian Warden, its' you from the frist one and it even shows you killing the archdemon and the Architect even knows it was you for it was fortold, did you forget that part?, So yes its you from that storyline, while there may be more starts of a new character I would say yes but it shows you from the first one and the Architect knows who you are and I don't think he likes you very much.

Well he was still around for a couple of years after DAO and Awakening takes place a few months after DAO. I don't see why he couldn't be in Awakening. As for his recruitoing efforts.....well Awakening IS about you rebuilding the order so recruitment is part of that....all the more reason for Loghain to be there.

And it'd be false advertising for Bioware to say that you get an old favorite, and it be someone you never liked. Thats where the info from Achievements come in. Thats one way they could determine who your most used companion was. I'm not saying on that is 100% right - but im pretty sure they have a way to determine who your "old favorite" is and have them in the expansion pack.

I Will Just Tell You This:  Did You See Alistar Fighting or Just Talking? And Did You See Oghren Talking Or Fighting?
And i don't ignore anything... i just see facts which you don't see.
Also if there would be more choises then Oghren then whats the points of say'ng that theres gowing to be 1 play'abe character from the origins....

maybe i am wrong who knows... but i think the chances are really few.

You do realize that trailers, whether for movies, or for games are often times the most leading on form of promotion ever, right?  Take the movie Highlander End Game.  There were clips in the trailer, that didn't even make it into the final movie, so don't count on this trailer as the end all to be all for one.  And 2, the clip of the archdemon being slain, is the EXACT same clip from the DA:O trailers, so don't assume that because they show that clip it means they imported the character and what not.  Trailer also says the Architect forsaw the death of the archdemon, not that the main character was the one that did it necessarily either.

Oghren can remain as a General of the army if you didn't do his personal quest so it's entirely possible for him to appear as an NPC that doesn't join you just like Alistair appears if you made him king.
