Wasn't he a mage type? I assumed he wore robes or whatever darkspawn mages wear. But in that trailer that shows what i think is him he looked like he was dressed in armor.Trooper Guy1 wrote...

I didn't read the novel, are there enough information to describe the architect as a mage with a funny hat?
I don't recall his exact appearance, though he could be the creepy looking guy that's on the front of the Awakening cover. http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening One right behind the text "awakening". Thing is I'm pretty sure Duncan or someone cut off one of his hands, so he should have a hand missing.
Unless he has regenerative powers similiar to an Ogre.
Odd you should not remember. The Architect played a huge role in The Calling.....he was the main antagonist throughout the novel. Who culd forget his long and phylosophical discussions throughout the book?
Not that I don't remember all that stuff, I just forget what he looks like.

I bet that too. I think the darkspawn that talks that uses swords and bows is a corrupted grey warden. Maybe Bregan or.....Ashbery wrote...

Yeah like he could somehow survive a axe blow to the head <some how not dead> and then be left alive by the millions of darkspawn surronding him.Nobody Important wrote...

About how much is this going to cost us? Is this going to continue from the game left off?
Please read, as well as look on the very page. Someone answers this a few posts before you. Honestly.

There are no characteristics about him? Such as : "He is still a darkspawn, but odd" or "more human than darkspawn"
I ment : is he rather this:

I believe the first is what he looks like and I suspect(speculation here) that the second is a warden turned darkspawn by the architect.....might even be duncan. I would go as far as saying that the first picture you posted is indeed the architect as seen in Awakening though I could be mistaken.

I see no reason why a dedicated gray warden would join the thing he despised most in the world. I do not think its Bregan since i faintly remember him dying in the end of the book along with his sister. Its too tall to be Utha. Who the hell could it be I wonder?Darth_Trethon wrote...

considering Duncan's history with the Architect I can't imagine him being fooled by the latter.
the talking dork is human-/hurlock-size and apparently male. Utha is a female, de-tongue-ified dwarf, so even with darkspawn super-healing-factor taken into consideration the likelihood of it being her approaches zero very, very closely.
most likely it's someone we don't know. or maybe Riordan? come to think about it, he's really the only one other than Duncan who's a theoretically possible condidate among the known characters. I doubt it anyway, but who knows but them BioGods?

Will a store bought version work with a steam bought game? Or do I have to wait until steam has it available?
I see no logical reason why it can't.

Just wondering, I've had friends who bought steam games then bought an expansion or add-on from a store and it conflicted.

*It says 5 new characters join you but what about the original team of Shale, Allister, Morrigan, Sten, Leliana, etc.? What will happen to those characters? Will all of them be in the expansion pack too or not?
*How long will the expansion pack be?
*Is the expansion pack better than the original game?
*Will there be new origins if so how many?
*When does the expansion pack come out and also when does that new DLC come out too the return to ogzamarrr or whatever it's called....thanks

*SPOILERS FOR THE CALLING*
I just finished reading the two Dragon Age novels and have played through the game twice now.
The skinny, lanky monster shown in the main page doesn't strike me as matching the description of The Architect from the books. In fact, he was described as looking like any other darkspawn emissary in a brown robe. He can talk, is quite intelligent and proficient in using the darkspawn's form of magic. Other than that, we know little else about him.
It is possible the tall creature could be an ally of his, maybe a mage twisted by use of the darkspawn brand of magic. Remille learned this magic himself, and even used it to create items (the brooches and dagger that ultimately led to his demise). Or the thing could just be an abomination. There's really no way to be sure. If it *is* The Architect, either the art team took some creative license or perhaps he underwent some kind of transformation. I'm not ruling that out.
The talking darkspawn in armor is most likely another turned Grey Warden. It's not like The Architect couldn't have done to someone else what he did to Bregan. I wouldn't be surprised if Utha made an appearance also. I highly doubt that thing is Duncan. The most prominent reason being he has faced The Architect before in his youth, refused him then and would certainly refuse him now. I really do think he is dead and gone, along with Cailan.
The Architect has probably corrupted some Grey Wardens to his cause, and they are now trying to set his plan into motion.. to expose as much of humanity to the taint as possible. You see some frightened and fleeing men, obviously carrying the signs of taint.
I'm interested to see what the hinted political strife is about, and I want to know who that dark-haired female mage is that talks about "the mortals of this realm bowing before her". I'm also extremely curious about how things work out if your character became Queen or King of Ferelden.
I'm looking forward to experiencing all of it, meeting my new companions and seeing how our choices work out in the new campaign.

Now the expansion is called the awakening so it implies that something is about to wake up...perhaps that is the human-looking thing we see on the expansion's main page.

I'm thinking the one old companion could be Alister. Morrigan's chances of appearing in this one is very slim. And then the fact that this expansion seems to be a bridge to the story of Morrigan's and Child in DA 2 is more plausible.
Alistair is King by default(no imported save)....and depending on imported endings he may also be forever gone or even dead.....regardless of which of those three is the case it's not going to happen.

Let's say I start a new game in DA:O, and finish it all the way through. Will my decisions directly affect how the prologue(s) and epilogue(s) unfold in DA:A? Such as game ending scenarios and what-not?
Or are the two story lines completely none linear and it doesn't matter what I do in DA:O?
