I would like to add my opinion that 40 bucks is too much for this expansion when people have spent around 50-60 bucks for the game itself. 5$ for a DLC is okay but spending 40$ at once for an add-on (whether its large or just small content) to a game that we have already paid for? Piracy of this content will be in much larger volumes than the original game.

Ferret A Baudoin, could you perhaps tell us how long will the expansion be compared to DAO? 20% lenghth? 10%? 40%? Just approximately...

Anyway, I think that Duncan is dead. Either he was killed at Ostagar or followed the Calling and was slaughtered in the Deep Roads.

Hmmmm, well I swear I have seen the video and the surviver has been a villager looking dude. IMO Duncan is quite an inportant person and for to be "killed" so early sucks but I'm jus hoping at the moment.
Also perhaps the delays for RTO is because of their upcoming expansion, lets not diss Bioware, I'm sure they have a good reason, plus it says its to be released on the 5th, its still the 5th isnt it? could be in 10 hours time, people are too impatient!

In the awakening they say that the dark spawn take prisioners, so maybe a later expansion or dlc, would be to save duncan from them...  it would be so badass

Pirating an expansion? very bad idea, since you put yourself at risk of compromising your original copy of the game.

Bottomline, it's not doctor's orders to buy a game OR an expansion. If you think you're not offered the right value for your money, you can simply not buy it at all and turn your attention elsewhere. Personally, if  the content is worth it, I'd say 40 dollars are pretty much a fair price for an expansion.

If I had to take a guess as to who your returning companion would be, I would say your romantic interest(Or,perhaps, Morrigan,depending on the length of time between Origins and Awakening).Keep in mind you can kill almost all of the characters through out the story (Dog is, in fact, the only one you can't kill if I am correct,unless,of course, you do not get him). It could simply be a matter of highest approval, romance, or just who you did not kill.

Sure. But considering the development costs that come with having to hire voice actors for all the dialogue (Dragon Age is the if not one of the most dialogue intensive games ever) and considering you're getting more than you usually get with expansions/DLC in other games I think it's pretty sad some people don't think $40 is worth it. I mean Bioware could've just added some new dungoens in new areas and called it a day but they went far enough to have a new origin, new party members, new abilities, etc. I think it's awesome Bioware went to those lengths.

The majority of the people in this thread can't wait for it and my guess is the few Debbie Downers that come here to **** about the price are either kids that think mom and dad will have a hard time giving them 40 bucks to buy it or people that see $40 DLC as a serious crimp in the month's rent payment.

40 $ for a 15 hour EP? I don't know if I'm willing to pay for this, specially after seeing how the GTA IV EP costs less than 20 bucks (1600 MP).

Yay, I can finally talk about what I've been working away at.

Some random answers to questions brought up (obviously I can't answer everything):

* Choices in Origins definitely are recognized in the expansion.
* You do import all of your gear from Origins, but not from the chest in Soldier's Peak. But you can always pull out what you like, save, then import that save.
* You can't play an Orlesian Grey Warden in Origins.
* Amaranthine is indeed the coastal arling that once belonged to Rendon Howe. And, of course, everyone will speak with a Jamaican accent. OK, maybe that last part isn't true.

Sorry, if that has already been answered somewhere else, but if we're importing our old character from DA, are we still playing the same person our are we just using the character statistics. I mean I'm the chancellor of Ferelden now...

What they say yestarday was that RTO was delayed, but the also said that the dlc will be out today, maybe they were saying delayed by few hours, thats all-

And i doubt it will be delayed, they cant afford to delay games, because if they do we are onna burn Bioware HQ-..

Bioware puts quality above deadlines (which is a very good thing) but I tend to be a bit cynical as regards their shipping dates.
