now if this was already mentioned i apologize but there is like 80 pages so bare with me... it says on the DA:O website that you will be able to create an character from Orlais now my question is can that character play through the origins story and kill the archdeamon or can he or she only play through the awakening story line?

Can only be played in Awakening. He is kind of the go to guy if your character chose to slay the Archdemon and didn't take Morrigan's offer.

I don't know if we confirmed the returning companions but:

Alistair of course and I think Oghren.

For This Video Pause Around 1:19, the dwarf's hairstyle looks like oghren. : D

It has been confirmed that only one "old favorite" will be from Origins. There will be 5 all new companions. And there is even speculation that the "old favorite" was not even a companion in Origins but just an NPC that was interacted with.

Yes Oghren is a strong possibility but nothing is confirmed.

Congratulations though, you just started round 9 of the Oghren debate. ;)

Yes, Morrigan please.

Also, I'm a little too lazy to go through all the pages of the thread right now, so can someone please tell me if something about the level cap has been said?

I mean are we going to start a new level cicle even if we kept our original Warden alive or are we keeping our level at the end of the main campaign? is the lvl 25 cap going to be considered? since it is impossible to reach without the elven roots and all, so I'm wondering how much farther we'll be able to advance if we indeed keep our stats, lvl 30 maybe?

As much as we can hope for Morrigan its slim, its said she went west.. and Awakening is in the east :(

If morrigan doesnt return as a party member, hopefully she will atleast make some sort of appearance in xpac. Whether shes part of a quest or something would be fine with me.

Fernando said by the end of Awakenings that your level should be in the mid to high 30s. One presumes if you create the new Orlesian character that your starting level will be in the region of 20-25.

Maybe he's an old favortie at Bioware. Seems a pretty silly reason to not get the expansion though, I'm sure you can avoid him completely if he bothers you that much.

What about Duncan? I mean, there was no actual confirmation of him being dead was there? Is there a way that maybe he could be in the expansion. Like a surprise? Just a thought.

I hoping for Alistair to be the "old favorite" he cracks me up, and he's usually my tank.

If it's a NPC, I kind of liked Jowan...lol...but really I did.

The dwarf could be that one from Redcliff...hmmm I forget his name. The one that had Stens sword stashed...He could be considered new, therefore giving us hope for a better old character to appear lol

I wonder if they will do a part 2 or just keep making expansions...EA, you know they love expansions. Then it will be Da 2 and then 3 just like sims ROFL

But seriously, Jowan is the way to go for NPC or even Cullen for peeps sakes! Those are my pics for NPC

can't resist throwing my hopes in.

Leliana.. love French redheads.. weakness.

Morrigan.. love intelligent sarcastic women that are also hot.

Shale.. doesn't have a lifespan, UNLESS, we get her when she becomes squishy.

The lady in the Denerim Market place.

Another Elven party member would be cool.

Jowan would be interesting to have, but I found him really weak in the fade.

I think this snapshot shows Oghren in the video on the website.  Look to the far right side.

Edit:  This one shows another shot of him...if that is him.

Well, they mentioned that there will be cameo's, so we can't just assume that Oghren's part of the party, although it seems likely since it looks like they're fighting the spectral dragon.

I thought about it too. Well I suppose he's the talking darkspawn now. I mean in KOTOR Malak and Revan were greatest jedies, in Jade Empire true enemy was Master Li, in Mass Effect Saren was one of the greatest SpecTRe
:?

apparantly the talking dark spawn existed before DA:O even happened, according to Dragon Age: The Calling, the Architect had been mentioned.

I hope your right, couldn't avoid him first time around unfortunatly, I think Bella's discription of Lloyd fits Oghren better then it does Lloyd.

maybe it's more than one, and they're trying to surprise us, or maybe they're keeping the returning character under wraps to avoid spoilers, I do remember reading that Morigan is a favorite and that the writers would like to continue using her. just a thought. I'm just thinking that Oghren is a cameo. Probably one of those blue circle fighters.

It is, slightly possible there will be a choice. There has never been an actual confirmation that there is only one original party member to choose from, rather only one member in your party has been seen in DA:O. So yes reading between the lines, just because only one party member has been seen from Origins doesn't mean you wouldn't get a chance to pick which one it is. For Gaider's comments, he shot down the idea that you could pick between all of your original party members due to practical reasons and financial constraints, and he is correct what is the point of recording voices for nine characters when only one would ever be used in the game at a single time. However, if you already had characters returning for some cameo's, which going off of the epilogues would leave only four possible choices, Alistair, Leliana, Oghren, and Zev. It isn't completely unreasonable to assume that perhaps they recorded dialogue as both NPC's and companions. Going from what I've seen it does appear these four, or at least the last three will be in the players game the majority of the time as you really have to go out of your way to kill them or chase them off (You can't do either with Oghren) and their epilogues generally place then near the Warden.

So there is a very slim possibility that you may get to choose between Lel, Oghren, and Zev, I don't really see Alistair as a choice since he has quite a few ways to be removed and when he's not he is in a rather important position. Of course I may just be getting your hopes up only to have Bioware snatch them aware and crush them in fron of your eyes.
