Idealy i'd prefer to keep everyone, though the fact they're flinging 5 new people at us ontop of the 9 we had originaly (or 8 with morigan's leaving) doesn't seem too likely, perhaps it will be something in the middle, bit of old & new, flesh out the 5 newbies abit with some of the old team
I do wonder though if the 5 new people (or some anyway) can be recruited in the main game and follow you into awakening (not likely i know, but would be nice~!)

The only character I never really cared for was Sten, there is a 99% it can not be him so no worries for me!!! Just hope for those of us that banished that cry baby Alistair we are not forced to have him in game or in our party with our previous decision to kick him out being ignored

thay can talk to ur companions, and thay all part there way to do some thing else, so i guess, no non of the "side-chars" will be in the expainson, mabye thay mention them but dont think u will be abel to have them whit u.
tho i hope we will have the felling that the chois u made in the end will matter in the expanion.
well anyway im exited about an exp and hope more will come=) if u make the exp as good as the orig it will be EPIC=) (yes i said EPIC!)

I apologize if this is trolling, but I thought of it and well...it made me laugh.
They could probably still pull Alistair and another off as a fully operational party member at a very low cost....considering the only lines of dialogue we really need from Alistair are "Yes Mistress" and "What can I say, your wish is my command"(that line they can copy paste from the original game!)

DA1103, Sten is a beast. When I played a warrior type, I didn't use him, but when I was a mage, and even now with my Archer Character, Sten is crazy good. I got him at Level 11 with Blood Dragon Armor, 2H Starfang. He is hitting for 50 plus the ruins in the sword. His potential is limitless. The only thing that stinks is that he get only 1 spec. But I agree with you that he will not be back for The Awakening. My money is on Leliana or Allistair.
Well i never meant to imply that he wasn't a great fighter, I know he is!!!!! I just do not like his personality, the whole getting you to discover more about yourself or to stand up for yourself by him asking annoying questions every few minutes. lol. I love him when I watch my friends play, just not in my party.
As someone said earlier I hope one of our new companions is like Dog or Shale...very unique. I love Shale, she's awesome & Dog with almost any party member is hilarious!!!!!!!!!

we can re-spec our characters in awakening right? does that mean just re allocating the attribute points? or could we redesign how they look, their class or race?
thanks.
ummmm... if your going to do that why not just make a new character?
well I no longer like the way my dalish elf rogue looks, and have completed the game with a human noble warrior too. so, i may be interested in altering the way my elf looks, changing class or race wouldnt interest me. not initially at least...
also what if i married the ruler of ferelden? how can i be going off to fix stuff up with all my royal responsibilities?

Just ask Maric. He had no problem running off with the Grey Wardens in The Calling.

March just seems to far away now LOL.
Tell me about it. Good thing that RtO and ME2 are coming out in between, at least something to occupy my mind while I wait.

However I'm willing to negotiate if the "old favourite" is *sigh" Bann Teagan <3 (seriously ever heard of anyone who doesn't love Teagan?)
But could someone of Bioware please explain if the old party members will still be around and if the relationships (not just love, I for example also got very fond of friendship paths with many characters) will still continue even if they are not joinable (kinda like ME2).
I know some people might call it lame but I for one tend to get very fond of well written characters and really don't want to have to buy silly excuses why Zev would just leave the Wardens after telling my PC he'd go with her to the Dark City itself or why would Lelliana never drop by and where the hell would dog go by himself (it's bad enough poor soul wasn't given an epilogue)

or that you could talk to him at the end! i mean i wasnt even sure if he was at the end, there was a dog, but you cant interact with it.Mesecina wrote...
I might throw a tantrum worthy of Alistair if Zev is not in it.

Just wondering, an old favourite doesnt necesseraly mean companion, it could be any NPC.
If I am wrong then sorry about that.

It's very possible that the "old favourite" could be a npc. We all know how companies like to play with words. I have no idea who it could be, however I think it being Alistair could be just as possible as any other. Just because he dies in some games doesn't mean it can't be him. Haven't they said how you ended the game would affect things?

If it does end up being an NPC that returns... I'm banking on Sandal or Bann Teagan, tbh. Although since we're going to Orlais and all, it could very well be that Orlesian merchant in the Denerim market. And why not? They never said it was going to be a well-known favorite. Or even a player favorite, for that matter! It could easily be a favorite of the writers, or the game designers, or the CEO of Bioware.

Like I said earlier, it is feasible that they may give you an option between a couple of "old favorites" who would be in the game 80% of the time anyways with cameos, perhaps your romance joins you automatically unless your romance goes MIA ala Morrigan or perhaps their to busy like Alistair then you default to Oghren. Who knows.
