But they said that an old favorite would be returning. No one said that, that character would be playable or not. Maybe they actually have plans on bringing in a few playable characters from Origins, but just plan to bring back one npc that we all loved. I loved Duncan! He wasn't exactly playable, neither was Teagan or Jowan, or Cullen for that fact. So maybe they worded it like that for a reason...
Hmmm I sense a disturbense in the waters...

I might be rushing to conclusions here, but I truly think we wont be given any choice in the matter. I believe Bioware will go with only one "canon" ending, that one including Alistair as king and Loghain being dead, but the rest being adaptable.
That makes me quite sad since I'm a huge Loghain supporter and the character I played for my first playthrough, a dwarf warrior, would be the one whom I would chose for Awakening, and he developed a fair amount of mutual respect for Loghain, you could even say they were friends in the end.
Random weird hope-induced speculation now, but in the scene in the trailer where a ghost in what is clearly the Fade breaks through the door, I really hope that ghost is Loghain and his cameo is you meeting him in the Fade where he can finally reveal his thoughts on Ostagar and defend himself from the accusations of all the people that didn't choose him.
I thought in some article or on these forums Bioware already acknowledged that the main part of Origins that will play a huge role in Awakening is how you chose to do things from the landsmeet & after?
Actually, if you ask me, it looked more like Cailan.

I just got a question, so in this expansion pack you get the option to continue with the character that you finished the game with right? Should i backup the Bioware folder in my documents? just in case anything happens, thanks.
Yup.

Yup.
This was my problem with my first playthrough of Mass Effect.

Same goes for my character...
If I could choose which companions I can "carry", I'd definitely pick Loghain.
And I'd love to have him as a romance option. After all he did tell me I was pretty the first time we met

So far, it looks like if you chose to sacrifice, you will be somewhat revived and storm the castle.
Then, presumably if you crowned Alistair, he will rejoin your party "I rather miss the whole darkspawn killing thing". (Plus the epilogue comments regarding the Grey Wardens)
I certainly hope I can get to be queen and lay in a proper bed at least once before this mess starts. lol.

There's already a healer spec though... spirit healer. Summoner would be cool though, as long as it' a bit different from the ranger animals.
I know. lol. guess I should of said completely remade healer spec. Group heal & revive are great but healing aura only helps treat injuries otherwise I've never noticed it healing my companions at close range
Summoning would be fun if we could summon something interesting not just a ghost, skeleton, or undead as usual. I would expect Bioware to put a good spin on it.

Just a quick question.... Since I'll be buying the expansion for the Xbox, how does that work exactly, as I've never bought a console game with an expansion before.
Not sure but due to the massive size of the expansion(according to Bioware) you'll probably have to play off the expansion disc but if you have the space you might be able to burn it to your hard drive 7 jump back & forht...who knows!!! lol just throwing ideas out there, I would safely assume just playing off the disc for Awakening.

No problems playing off disc, in fact I was hoping that'd be the case. Thank you.

In that case I think it would be better if you imported your character from the "Epilogue" save game. This would mean you're back in camp with your full party and can tinker with everyone's equipment and transfer stuff to the inventory as you please.Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...
With the fact that they have said any gear we want to carry over into the expansion needs to be either worn by us or in the inventory does this go for any gear we give to our party in 'The Final Battle'? ie. just as that is ending do we need to strip them of their gear? Or will we get all the gear they wore automatically?

I don't think Bioware has touched on this subject yet. It may just be me but I though before patch 1.02 we lost the gear our companions were wearing(example korcari wilds) but after that patch I thought the gear they had was auto sent to our inventory just like a quest rewards whether there was room or not it forced it into your inventory. i'm not sure on this though it may of always been like that & I didn't notice until after patch 1.02

Good point of that idea, get to have all the gear we got from any DLCs we did after finishing, potentially bad point would be whether it takes into account what decision you made before the final battle, seeing as there is something in the camp that wouldn't be there if you made a certain decision
@Dragon Age 1103, as far as the first 'group' you already mentioned that has always been the case I think, but I don't think it still is regarding the 2nd group at the tower.
