To be honest, to be able to upload any saves is an nice option so you can avoid that damn ritual mabye ? XD

But, I am more worried about the romances whenever you play male or female, I will hate if the romance won't be carried over and till now that's the feeling I got -_- If this happen, I may start a total new character from Orlais, cause no point for me to go again on battlefield without the lover of pc! ^_^ (My pc ain't the type to broke up that easely or flirt arund when her lover is not with her)

WTH?! Dragon Age - Awakening for PC just got price bumped to 40 bucks?

Screw that. Sorry but 30 bucks was reasonable, 40 bucks for an expansion?! not a hope in hell.

40 bucks is a load, but whatever this looks like it's going to be a pretty long pack.

I apologize if these questions have been asked in some form or another, but I didn't have the energy to read all 85 pages (stopped at twenty :\\\\ ). For what it's worth, the questions contain spoilers, though I'd bet that's hardly an issue for anyone reading this far in the thread.

1. If we sacrifice our character, can we still import that save for the plot data and then start as the Orlesian commander? Is the plot data of a sacrificed character usable in any form without reviving that PC? For that matter, is it even possible to revive a sacrificed PC?

2. Are any of these new party members romanceable? Mr. Melo said "sexual tension with other party members," but that could just as easily refer to relationships not involving the PC. Thoughts?

3. Is there an actual play-through origin for the Orlesian? Just a cutscene? Text?

Overall, I'm quite excited. I want to start the new Orlesian warden -- I loved learning about French history around this time period.

Gaider had originally said you could, then he kind of back tracked on it so I don't know. My assumption at the moment is no, the Orlesian Warden seems like he may follow a cannon ending. I may be wrong and Gaider may have taken back what he said simply to bring that issue back to "secret" status so to speak.

Your guess is as good as mine. Bioware enjoys puting in little love stories on the side for the player to do so my assumption is yes.
3. Is there an actual play-through origin for the Orlesian? Just a cutscene? Text?
It is like an Origin from what I've read, but not anywhere near the level of content and detail that you saw from the origins in the original game. So a smaller, more compressed version of the Origins we saw in the original game is my guess.

1. No. Fernando Melo stated that only if you load an old character, your old decisions will carry over. If you start a new Orlasian Warden, your old decisions won't carry over.

2. No info on that up to now

3. No specific info, it was said there will be some kind of playable introduction, but no complete Origin story.

If i am wrong and anyone will and can correct me, of course plz do.

Thank you both! I figured that 1 was a bit of a stretch. Oh well, one of my playthroughs probably coincides with the decisions used, so no harm done, really.

It was announced that the PC price listing was a misprint and that the exp. was the same price across all platforms.

Well it isn't right what MoSa09 said. You decisions are available if you make an Orlais character. You just have to load your character first and then make an Orlais Grey Warden. As Fernando told your team members and others are going to tell stories about what happened at the end because of your decisions then your decisions are still counting if you chose an Orlais Grey Warden.

Well, if so, i apologize. I was reffering to that statement of Melo.

Fernando Melo wrote...

Will you carry over equipment and such to Awakening? Pretty much.
And when you import your character in, you’ll effectively continue that
character as they were in DAO – unless you were not high enough level
for Awakening, in which case you’ll gain those levels.
Can you import the world ’state’, but start new in Awakening as the
Orlesian Cmdr? No. The world ’state’ only exists and lives on as part
of your character’s choices – most of the reactivity to events and
choices in Origins would simply not make sense if it wasn’t ‘you’ that
did it.

If i got that wrong, i apologize, but i understood it that way that your decisions will only carry over if you reload that old, alive PC. But again, if i got that wrong, apologies

Can you maybe add an option to hide helms/headwair?

You took so much time to make such great faces for each character to hide them behind a helm. I don't mind seeing helms in combat, but when standing in camp or certain conversations helms bother me alot.

I know there is already an toolset fix for that, but still.

I see. No need to apologies. Maybe you’re not wrong but if you see the interview on www.ign.com there is written that you are going to hear stories about what happened at the end based on your decision if you chose an Orlesian Grey Warden. Maybe is that old news or what you have written old news. It can also be a misunderstanding of the text.

Here’s the text I am referring to from the IGN interview:

"Fernando Melo: .......... For example, if you choose the brand new story of the Orlesian commander, in some cases, you actually come across cameos of some of your followers. You'll kind of hear about the tales of what happened and how something did or didn't happen, etc. If you ever go back to Origins to replay that, you'll see a different perspective as to what happened there, which is kind of neat. But really it's all about unveiling a brand new chapter in the tapestry of Dragon Age, where it's a brand new area."

Well, maybe they take a middle ground. If you play the Orlasian Warden, it's obvious you choose one specific ending, so they can tell stories about that without loading old data. Maybe only some plot decisions will carry over, while characters relations will only carry over to Awakening if you're alive. Would make sense, cause the new Warden obviously can't have any character relations.
About the age of that news: Melo's statement is from the 12th of January. Guess we'll just have to wait patiently until new info is released or Awakening is available

I understand companions are probably a no, but just a recognition of their epilogue or them being there is enough.

I wasn't sure where to post this question... but here it goes.

The only things I've ever pre-ordered and actually wanted in my hands the day of the release were items that were guaranteed to be on my doorstep that day. So, Gamestop isn't offering in-store pickup for the PC version online currently, and I'm wondering what are the chances I can walk into a Gamestop (or Best Buy?) and find a copy the day of the release? I live in a medium to large sized city. Or am I better off just pre-ordering and getting it shipped through Gamestop or Amazon (whichever has the cheapest shipping charge) and anxiously waiting a day or two for it to arrive?

Thanks in advance!
