Also, what classes could they possibly add? You already have your archer, your warrior, your paladin, your druid, your necromancer, your evoker, your enchanter, your healer, your assassin, your swashbuckler, your barbarian, your death knight. What more do you need, exactly?
I do agree that I'd like to see more weapons. Spears, melee staffs, katana, short swords, slings, throwing knives, etc. would be pretty nifty.

A quick question, but what happens if you beat the game multiples times with the same character choosing different endings?
Will the last ending you chose be the one to factor in, or does the ending chose matter at all?
You'll be loading a save, but it doesn't have to be a "final save". However, if you want to use a final save for that character, it'll be whatever the last one you did was. So if you wanna do a different ending, you'll have to redo it.
Also, keep in mind, when you move your game forward into Awakening, that's it. You can't go back to Origins unless you reload a previous save.
You guys can read the interview with IGN from the OP. It's the 2nd link under "News Articles".
but do you have to have saved in the room after the final battle? the ceremony type room?

WTH?! Dragon Age - Awakening for PC just got price bumped to 40 bucks?
Screw that. Sorry but 30 bucks was reasonable, 40 bucks for an expansion?! not a hope in hell.
It was announced that the PC price listing was a misprint and that the exp. was the same price across all platforms.
I had pre-purchased from the EA store for 29.99 but when I went to check my CC statement today i saw the original 29.99 charge and then a retraction and an unauthorized 39.99 charge.
I immediately cancelled my order.
It is bull****. You advertise something and report it to websites as 29.99 (gamestop even had it at 29.99 for awhile) then you keep it there.

No, you can import the same from any point in the original story. From 15mins after you start the game if you want... you'll be given XP to up your level to the expansion pack.

Anyone know if Awakening will release on MAC at the same time as the other platforms???
The announcement only mentioned release simultaneous release on XBox, PC and PS3. Mac was never mentioned, as far as i remember. Now telling if that is a good or a bad sign is very speculative, so i'd rather abstain from it.
You might just want to check the official Awakening webpage, in case you do not know:
http://dragonage.bioware.com/awakening
It has no infos to your question yet, but the closer we get to release, the more infos will appear there, and i am pretty confident the answer to your question will also be there when more information is released

It's $40! Which is obviously way too much for an expansion pack. I've never paid so much for an expansion in my entire life, and I'm a big believer in using expansions for great games. I just don't know if I can justify it though.
Time will tell.

I think you're putting to much emphasis on the word 'expansion'. There just isn't enough information to really make any argument for or against price vs content. What little info we do have suggests it's quite big though, such as estimate that one should be able to gain 10-15 levels, which if it follows the same pace and system as the last game indicates something between 25-40 hours which is pretty damn big. Everyones reading to much into the expansion word and a lot of people are giving it an unfair shake simply because of it's label.

Well i hope Morrigan comes back. Maybe not in the expansion but at least in the sequel. [...]. Bioware bring her back in the sequel!!! Oghren is not an old favourite lol it's Morrigan hands down!
Just in case someone starts complaining or you'll receive a warning or whatever, as much as i share your wish, apart from the title, we're still in the no-spoilers section here.
Everyone seems to have a rather short fuse recently cause of RtO, so i thought i'd just point it out to you, just in case;)

cheers,

P.S. the in-game music was great but i think in the game it didn't play long enough, there are times when the only sounds are the battles or walking around...

But what I would pay 40 dollars for is a package with the expansion as well as Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar DLC packaged into one. I think that would be a viable package for the current asking price.
Because as it stands, if the expansion pack is touted to have 15 hours of gameplay and is priced at 40, and Return to Ostagar was quoted at having roughly an hour and a half (a liberal estimation) and has a price of $5 dollars, then either the DLC is too expensive hour wise, or the Expansion pack is far too cheap hour wise. There seems to be a discrepancy in this aspect. Perhaps there's more man hours being sunk into developing the expansion, but then you could compare it to the full game, which could have 80 hours of gameplay, and was priced at around 50 dollars. Clearly the full game took much more man power.
How then is the forty dollars justified? I already can imagine a corporate greed answer, but let's assume that's not the case (unless it is, and then stop it).

No it hasn't. The 15 hour thing came from the site where the Awakening rumor had originated and considering how far off they were on every other detail listed aside from the name and month of release I wouldn't buy to much into the whole 15 hour thing.

You can choose to import from any save you want.
This is probably a spoiler but, In my first play through i played as myself (makeing choices i would make in real life) and i ended up dieing so alistar didnt have to. So does that mean i cant be my old character? do i have to play as the orlesian? because i would mauch rather be my old character, other then an orlesian who will not be connected to any of the old companions

Fernando, you really should allow dead characters to carry over and then play as the Orlesian Commander
What would the point of crossing over the stats of a dead character be?

I think he means the decisions made throughout the game transfer over, not the stats or gear or things like that.

I don't think they would. I mean, it's a completely new character. It makes sense, yeah, but only in a real world context. This is a video game. It might possibly be like ME2, where you are given choices on what the canon ending of ME1 was.
I don't think they are based on what has been said, but why wouldn't it make sense? It would be done for the same reason it's being done for characters who live, it's an extension of the story you made in Origins. Just because the character is the last story is dead doesn't mean another one can't be brought in to pick it up from where it left off.
