It might possibly be like ME2, where you are given choices on what the canon ending of ME1 was.

Just because the character is the last story is dead doesn't mean another one can't be brought in to pick it up from where it left off.

We said the same thing.

Wonder if modded items/items from modded maps can be carried over.

Did we? You seemed like you were talking about it following a canonical ending  though and through where I meant import the dead character so the story choices he made are reflected in the Orlseian Warden's game, IE. if you picked Anora to rule and kicked Alistair to the curb you would see that reflected in your game.

Multiplayer would be impossible on this game. You can't take a single player game like this and morph it into a multiplayer version without recoding everything. RPG's don't have to be multiplayer, and there are very few rpg's that have the option. MMO's do not count, as they focus solely on the multiplayer aspect and PVP, and hardly at all on story.

Also, what classes could they possibly add? You already have your archer, your warrior, your paladin, your druid, your necromancer, your evoker, your enchanter, your healer, your assassin, your swashbuckler, your barbarian, your death knight. What more do you need, exactly?

I do agree that I'd like to see more weapons. Spears, melee staffs, katana, short swords, slings, throwing knives, etc. would be pretty nifty.

It is a necessity in most rpg's since it's the~ trend. If it would be impossible for multiplayer mode. Then why not try online play, which will gives you better loot or a MUCH harder game setting than nightmare mode, a few more bosses along the road or maybe a battle arena of sort with rewards..

There are A LOT more potential characters out there,  Paladin(not the same as templars) , Wizard, Monk, Druid (not ranger & morrigan doesn't really count as druid her spells are entirely mage type) I know, or new races like Qunari or Darkspawn or even multi classing such as maybe a dragon age version of black guard or arcane archer.. If* you know what I mean.. It's 40 bucks for an expansion, it's not even part 2 it's just a sequel.. Not even a CE...<_<

I am sorry if this has been asked and answered but with so many pages, it is hard to read them all.

Do we know what happens to the relationships formed by the PC in Origins, once you import the character to Awakening. I mean I understand only 1 partymember from Origins returns. But what about the others?

Alistair seems to be in the game. What if you married him and became the queen, will the people/Alistair refer to you in a unique manner? Or will the expansion just pretend that the relationship between Alistair and the PC never happened and you are not the queen, no matter what.

What about the other potential romances. If you romanced Leliana and ended the game with the idea that you would stay together, how will Awakening deal with that? Will the game ignore the relationship with Leliana not appearing anywhere? Will it be said that during the time between the end of Origins and start of Awakening the romance ended somehow. Or will we get scenes/dialog between the PC and Leliana,Zevran or Alistair, even if they don't join the party.

What of friendships? If you developed a close friendship with a party member and that party member was not said to leave in the epilogue, will he/she be somewhere in Awakenings for you to talk to and generally continue that friendship somehow, even if they dont actually join the party.

Do the origins themselves play some role? In Origins, people reacted to you differently based on your origin. Will this continue, does anyone know? Will imported Nobles get unique dialog different from say Dalish or mages?

Sorry if answered somewhere, this is a huge thread and search no help.

With more levels, will that just mean we can choose more existing powers, or will their be new powers? Like all the magic and combat powers continue with new and more powerful/interesting magic and melee moves?

Don't know. I doubt we'll see most of them due to the way their epilouges went. Melo did say there would be somes cameos so perhaps a few will make an appearence as NPC's.

Bioware says they will carry over the choices your character made in Origins, to what extenet is up for speculation. I'd assume major ones such as the one you listed would indeed carry over. As to the actual effect it'll have in the game, if it gets reconized there is no reason to assume it wouldn't have an impact so perhaps some NPC's and companions will refer to you as queen, that's not some over the top super complicated thing to do.

Honestly don't know, I would assume characters like Lel and Zev would make some sort of appearnece if they were romanced. Their epilouges support it and there isn't really any story or gameplay reason for them not to be so the question is would it add to much from the technical and finanical side to warrant the gain. Personally I do believe they'll play some sort of role, but reality is I know as much as you. Nothing.

What of friendships? If you developed a close friendship with a party member and that party member was not said to leave in the epilogue, will he/she be somewhere in Awakenings for you to talk to and generally continue that friendship somehow, even if they dont actually join the party.

Pretty much the same as above. Story and gameplay reasons don't prohibit it so it comes back to time and money, my assumption still is though that if they didn't leave in the epilouge they will be there to some level of degree. There are only 4 characters that have any real chance of coming back if we use the epilouges as a foundation of sorts for Awakening and 4 VA's voicing a couple of roles for their characters isn't unreasonable to assume.

Do the origins themselves play some role? In Origins, people reacted to you differently based on your origin. Will this continue, does anyone know? Will imported Nobles get unique dialog different from say Dalish or mages?

I believe Melo said Origins will play a role. Exactly what and how I don't know.

With more levels, will that just mean we can choose more existing
powers, or will their be new powers? Like all the magic and combat
powers continue with new and more powerful/interesting magic and melee
moves?

There are new talents to pick from, that's been confirmed.

You make me feel better about this.

I just really don't want some cheap, "they had to go off to do something far away" as an excuse.

Fernando, you really should allow dead characters to carry over and then play as the Orlesian Commander

What would the point of crossing over the stats of a dead character be?

What would be the point in dying for the future if you can't see that future?

Hope!! No blight seems just a tad better than blight destroys ferelden. No matter what happens you know(or think you know) that the old god/archdemon is dead forever thanks to your sacrifice.

Tell that to the talking DarkSpawn.

All I'm asking for is that I could play as the Orlesian Commander while the world reflects the decision of the dead warden.

Is that too much to ask Bioware?

Wait you can't transfer over dead characters? That blows... all the decisions you made count for squat that way :(

And no that isn't to much to ask for!

I don't think i'd import any character if I couldn't carry on the relationship in one way or the other. I want to have my character to continue his romance with Lel  Give us more info Bioware, please!  :)

Yeah, but just because he was there doesn't mean he's not if he died killing the AD. Alistair living encompasses a LOT of endings. It would be quite impossible to make a very good emotionally stirring trailer if you left out all possible stuff that could or could not happen.

I may be flamed by saying this, but, i hope this expansion gets pushed back like 1 week. So that i have enough time to finish FFXIII before engaging on Awakening. :(

One thing has got me curious... If you chose to make the Ultimate Sacrifice and your character died, does that mean when you import that save your character doesn't return, but the choices you made with her/him do carry on to the expansion pack and you play instead as the Orlesian origin from then on in that imported character's save to continue on with that story arc?

Now that is a very good question. I kind of doubt it for some reason(gut feeling) but I hope so b/c that would be a very good way to keep your character going after death. Showing that he sacrificed himself for all of Ferelden & now his choices carrying on even to influence those at Amaranthine!!!

So do we have official word that we get an Origins Companion & not just someone from Origins?

(so if it is an NPC we could get Duncan)
