@Shas0: as this is a no Spoilers board, i won't go into details, but some things about the companions and where you place them them on your list  are simply not true, sorry

And you completely forgot Wynne and Shale

As i said, won't say more to not spoil anything here:police:

oh, and a common misunderstanding: you can play a new Grey Warden from Orlais, but the game itself still plays in Ferelden, not Orlais.

I finished the game romancing Alistair and becoming the potential Queen of Ferelden. Will that and the decisions I made carry over to this expansion? Sorry if this has already been asked. Oh and will they address me in the game not only as the Grey Warden Commander, but as Queen or My Lady as well?

They said major and important decisions will carry over. To what extent and degree is yet unknown, but i guess your ending can be considered important enough to stay queen.
But given that in DAO, you'll always referred to as "The Warden", my guess is that you won't be called queen (maybe in a first cutscene/playable introduction which summarizes the events of DAO and lead to Awakening) throughout Awakening.
But this is all just guessing and pure speculation by me.

Still trying huh? lol. I don't Bioware has even mention her but I wouldn't know what to expect since I'm only on The Stolen Throne. Haven't started The Calling yet.

You know I assume if we can put all the pieces together Bioware has probably given away the entire story for Awakening. I mean the trailer for Origins showed you EVERYTHING. Every major encounter, event, slaying the archdemon & what all thos emoments looked like.

That was off topic but anyways I doubt they'll release any details anytime soon & anything you find out from someone is probably just speculation.

The real question is will the game be able to adjust to imported characters difficulty wise, or will we be so strong that we will be as gods *laughs maniacally*. Seriously, I don't want to get bored after I spend 60 bucks to buy this game. If it starts us off at lvl 1 that's cool, but if not then they should make the monsters crazy strong for those of us that are RPG vets. We're always looking for the next good challenge.

you start from wherever youre character was at, and if youre below lvl 20, then it levels you up. so difficulty would be same i believe.

Really!? I'm only on chapter 7 (trying to pace myself so scared of running out of new DA info!) but I LOVE this book. Loghain & Flemeth are my favorite characters of almost any book or game now!

the calling starts off a lot slower, but it gives you a greater understanding of the whole blight thing, and you stop thinking about which is the good side and which the bad. much less predictable too, because only one of the characters you know must survive... stolen throne is still great though.

I am VERY excited about this expansion. I am loving this game (just beat it once, working on the second play through) and feel the need to buy everything available!!

The one thing I wish is that they could respect the romance options in DOA... I know that would take a lot of work though. But it only makes sense that Leliana for example would stay with you if you romanced her, etc.

i dont mind if the romances end for awakening, but only if they give a good reason, a decent cut scene perhaps, or just a small paragraph maybe. i just dont want a "leliana choked on a piece of cheese and died-romance over" or "leliana fell in love with oghren and they ran away together-romance over". that would ****** me off.

I wonder how the squad interaction will work. You know, in Origins you were conscripted into the Grey Wardens and now that you're the commander of the Grey Wardens you are tasked to recruit more. I wonder how your new Grey Warden squadmates will react to the revelation that they will die if they find out since their Joining in...

I'd like to see how that works and how you'll need to persuade/coerce them and make them understand about the cons of the Joining and the Grey Wardens themselves since all they know is about the pros being a Grey Warden since it's so secret to everyone else and the public.

Given the strength of the Pound Sterling against the New Zealand Dollar, you could try ordering DAO:A from www.mightyape.co.nz. They also ship internationally.

Hope that helps. Used Mighty Ape (previously GPStore) for around eight years without problem.

I agree, no Leliana= no happy Valadras

No happy Valadras= Unidentifiable corpses everywhere.

[SPOILER!] It even says in the epilogue if you romance Leliana and live through the final battle that her and the warden explore the lands then return to Ferelden to discover the secrets behind the Darkspawn a.k.a Stay home sick and play Awakening.

I have an idea about the one returning follower.  In the trailer, you see a short clip of the warden and his party.  If you pause that clip, you can see that there is a dwarf with a battleaxe and a hairstyle similar to Oghren's.  Oghren is the the only character in the game with a unique hairstyle besides Morrigan, so this leads me to believe that Oghren is the returning character.  Just watch the trailer carefully, and you will see what I'm talking about.Posted Image

It'll be great if its true Posted Image
Although tons of people would rather have Morri or someone else... (i wouldn't mind anyone else either)
I think Oghren is totally funny! Always wanted him in my party but could never find the chance - no respec (ps3 version) And also by the time I'd get him, I'm at least halfway thru the game... Posted Image

I'm more interested in the new party members actually.... Posted Image

The more I play, the more I like Oghren. If it is him that's back, consider me a happy chappy.

Awakening does have new spells and abilities. We'll be giving out details on some of them later. :)

My big curiosity is whether or not we'll be able to use those in Origins?  For instance, let's say there's now a Necromancer specialization for Mages; if we start a new character with Origins, will it be at all possible to have him/her access that specialization rather than the base four?  Just curious.

Interesting point. However at the landsmeet Aiona(?), the ex-wife of late King Cilan, yells to the whole crowd about how being a grey warden is a death sentence and shouldn't that be enough of a penalty for Logain blah blah blah. My point is that either the script writers made a boo boo or now it'll be more commmon knowledge what grey warden's lives are like-a walking death sentence.

I agree. I love DOA( dead or alive series) but I would not buy a $40 expansion for mini games, costumes, & story. A fighting game has great replay value in achievements & multiplayer but very little content or story. You can finish most fighting gams in 2-6 hours story wise if not much less.
$7 for new armor, characters, codex entries, story, weapons, talents, & more. Now that is worth $7 that seems to be more content than the entire SF was it? expansion. lol. just saying I agree that it is not a fair comparison. I think Awakening is well worth the money personally but that is just me (from what i know).

I don't know if it's such a good idea to compare Beat'em ups with Rpgs but it's interesting that you consider the SF4 expansion a full game. I wouldn't spend 30 bucks for a fighting game with only 8 characters, a bunch of stupid minigames and some costumes. iirc Capcom released alternate costumes splitted into 5 packs each for 4 $ as dlc a few moth ago. Thats a way too much if you ask me. And people complain about Wardenskeep DLC ...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then don't buy it. We don't care anyway. You can't get them to chance the prise. I don't think so.
I'm going to buy it because DAO is an awesome game and is 40$ worth it and we don't have any idea about how long the game is going to be but i'm pretty sure it's going to be a long game and you'll see yourself if you start to think Posted Image
I'm not sure what you meant by your little angry, misspelled response but I was talking about the comparison of a $40 fighting game to DA:O's expansion is not a fair one. Actually we do have some basic idea about the length since Bioware confirmed we'll be hitting mid-high 30's for our level by the time we complete Awakening so in comparison to the time frame-levels in DA:O it gives you a decent idea of what to expect but that will also heavily depend on how much story there is if Awakening will be longer or shorter than we expect. (I expect about 20 hours or a little over)
My overall point is that you missed my entire point I think if i read your response correctly. Awakening's price was never in the discussion only SF IV's expansion price. So if that is what you were talking about you were wrong twice & I think you should considering reading the entire post before typing some sloppy off topic response.
Well I was in a little bad mood. Im sorry for that and I had to hurry then the spelling wasn't good as well I know.
But no you were talking about the price of the game comparred to the lenght of the game. I don't know why you have to tell us that you don't want to buy the game? Thanks for the information. We don't care then don't buy it and stop posting on this forum or thread at least. It's for people who are interested for the game Posted Image
