I just hope we don't get s*** loads of crazy DLC content. All I did was pre-order the CE and buy Warden's Keep and I have a HUGE list of DLC weapons; many of which are nothing special at all.
I was thinking the same thing for my warden lol

(Spoilers Below)
I am curious about one thing: What if my hero died? Sure, you can make a new hero from Orlais, which is good and all, but will the decisions I made in that game data affect the new story at all? You know, all that stuff they show you in the end about what happens in Ferelden after the Blight, like which king is in Orzammar and Denerim, what happens with the Circle Mages, etc. Or is it that when you make a new Orlesian Grey Warden everything is preset a certain way? I'm hoping you can still load the data of your deceased hero to carry that over while still using a new hero. Unless, of course, they don't intend to mention anything about that at all in the expanded story.
Thanks. That is all.

But other than that your choices from the first game will affect small things in the expansion. Like the king/queen will be mentioned somewhere in the game... thats all i know by reading a Q&A i found on the internet.

I'm assuming your a girl by your avatar and love of Alistari... sorry if I'm wrong. You can kick me in the nads if I am.
1. Target release is the 16th, but I wouldn't bet on it. Something as short as RtO is running into some major problems. March sounds a little to early to me... I would actually bet on it being pushed back OR being really buggy.
2. Hehe, I've noticed a trend. People who don't like Oghren either seem to be girls or guys with pictures of elves in their portraits. I assume it's because he's butt ugly and disgusting. Reguardless, Oghren is one of the most popular characters, and at the moment he seems to be the #1 contender.
But nothing has been announced officialy, so he could very well be a temporary companion... although I hope he's perminent. However, it is highly unlikley Alistair would be a companion given his... new role.
3. Yup yup. Unless bioware drops the ball, it seems all the choices you made should transfer over. The only question is what happens with player characters who died...

I haven't seen it actually confirmed that he died, plus there's no mention of being able to loot him in RtO, which implies that his body isn't there?? (maybe that's just wishful thinking though..)
It also means that people are less likely to whine about their favourite companion not returning 'cus if none of them do, they can't say they've been the one to miss out
Plus Duncan is a badass.
Edit:-
Dragon Age Wiki...
In Return to Ostagar you can claim Duncan's sword and dagger but his body cannot be found to take his unique armor.
If I remember right he buried both swords in to that uber Troll that killed Cailan, so that would explain why they can be found but he can't!

You probably can't say but is their a chance that a characters relationships will continue/be referenced in the expansion?
Also Obviously alot of players have earned bonus stat/talent/skill points via using tomes and by taking part in certain parts of the game, will these points also be carried over when you import a character?

Nope... at the moment it's assumed Oghren is the returning character as
A. Alistar is the king now
B. Oghren is seen IN your group in multiple locations

How many other expansion packs are 4/5ths the cost of the full game? I'm fairly sure the answer is none.

I had this same thought at first too...
BUT last I heard the PC version cost $30 dollars which is standard expansion price, if a bit on the steeper side of expansions.
Now, I'm not sure about this part, but I think it's being released as a stand alone on consoles, which would explain the $40 dollar price tag on consoles.

I think the better question is why is our(PC fans) expansion $40 but console is not $50?

There is a new origin. You transfer your dead character over and all of his/her choices transfer then you create the new Grey Warden Commander coming over from Orlais.

i really hope Morrigan is in this, i like her
I grew fond of my dwarven girl's relationship with Leliana and wish they could somehow reunite. But I have a feeling that won't be possible.
One thing I do hope for is to have an actual voice saying the things we choose to say in game. That was something I truly missed.
I would also like to see an update to how codex entries are handled. Currently, if you have more than let's say 10, and the new one comes after those 10, you can't scroll to find it without removing the highlight. This is what really bugged me in the end. Too many codexes and no way to properly keep track of new entries. Opening, scrolling, closing to see if the highlight is gone to figure out which entry was added is not my idea of fun!
