Searched for 'unable to connect' and holy hell what a botched effort this toolset seems to be. Any chance of getting something that actually works without minor miracles? I have installed SQL2005 and SQL2008 Express many times, and followed the wiki troubleshooting page till I want to kill someone. Windows Vista Home Premium x32.
Fallout 3 G.E.C.K. works great. Left 4 Dead Authoring tools works great. DAO Toolset LOL.
It's not that big of a deal really, the game is a bad copy of NWN2 anyway, except you quit finding decent loot after Level 10 or so in this game. (and even then it is rare to find something a mage can use, it's all about the hack n slash it seems) That's really the reason I wanted to play with the toolset, but after working several hours a day for 2 days, I'm done with it.
Ok, so done with that complaining, on to the request.
Can anyone recommend a loot mod that gives a chance to find decent gear once in a while? Especially mage stuff (I still have a staff I got around level 8 and I'm 16). Kind of a major disappointment to fight a battle at this level and find loot of a lesser health poltice. I mean, wth??

Most 'loot' isnt worth having anyway...if you want more gold...easy way is dev console command of runscript zz_money X (where x is whatever remembering 100 copper is 1 silver and 1oo silver is 1 gold).
As for toolset, had this issue myself, I just uninstalled, deleted the database (it asks you)....reinstalled (asks if you want to use default) and job was a good one

Hey maviarab, I had the same issue. So will give your sollution a try.
Hope it works, cause it shouldn't be that frustrating to go to the toolset.
IMHO they should have added it to the game right from the start.

i have had toolset working original until it got mucked up and now i have had nothing but trouble getting it to work again uninstalling and reinstalling doesn' work, my attempts with sql have not worked re downloading the install doesn't work, it has been very frustrating for me, i feel your pain. Toolset = broken product

Ok so I lied, I have tried again for several hours to get this to work. I have verified SQLExpress is installed and working. But for some reason the toolset can not connect. Here is the toolset log on the error:

Anyone have any idea what that is really saying? Google search yielded 3 hits on reports only.
