The thing is all the console versions are on pre-order for $40 and I've never seen a new console version get sold for the same as a new PC version, it's always $10 more. We'll see.

They didn't say anythign about main story. They just said it will last 15 hours. I hope you are right and that it's only the main story. But they didn't clarify and I remember Bioware saying that the main story line in the original was 40-50 hours, which was an exagerration. But if those 15 hours are indeed only the main story, then Bioware should confirm it asap.

I'm going back to the original rumor, which stated the main story was 15 hours. How literal one can take it I don't know, but I don't think Bioware really needs to clairfy anything at the moment, leaves them some breathing room for the time being in case there has to be some last minute scarps for whatever reason.

I didn't what?  From what I've seen, unless you thought she was hot, you hated her. LOL

I thought she was hot and hated her. Damn Alistair and his lack of balls, saying he can't execute her.

Expansion Exsmansion, this seems like a whole new game, that you can import old game data into, IE your old Characters. I though an expansion was just a new area to explore within your current game. I guess that is DLC now, and Expansions are just a fancy name for a new game.

It says on bioware website main page about the expansion

Encounter five all-new party members and an old favorite from Dragon Age: Origins

This is strange. If both the troll/gnome is alive and Allister is alive, isn't that bringing back two old party members?

troll/gnome?
any character from the original campaign can make a cameo (in case they have survived and still hang around), but only one will be a party member again. at least thats what i understood. Thats why Alistair, Ohgren and whoever else can appear in the expansion.

the trailer is real. i think they had it on the site but then there was some problem

you somehow are mixing up everything. If you are King or whatever, Anora is Queen. so it'll be Anora sending you off and Alistair is somewhere far away being drunk, or hes dead.
it requires no explanation, Alistair being dead or alive is just one of the many variables that is set during your playthrough of the original campaign

have you started playing games only recently?

Expansion has always been that. rarely does an expansion bind seemlessly into the main game as they do in the bethesda games. Throne of Baahl for example is an expansion to baldurs gate 2 and was completely separate. They only are expansions because they are shorter than a full game (usually) and reuse assets from the main game, so it all can be cheaper and made faster.

Things to consider.

1) trailer

If there is a trailier, why doesn't gamestop or Bioware post it on their main site. Why is it on a youtube video of some lone person. Could it be a fake? Perhaps but I heard a line where Allister says 'This darkspawn can talk" However some reports are conflicting..such as..

Just things to think about

This would be a trailer based on one possible ending. There are sure to be other possibilities, although my game will look like this as making Anora queen left such a bad taste in my mouth the one time I did it, I probably won't do it again.

Why would they write dialogues/hire 10 voice overs for one choice made in the game? at best it would just be the romance choice, if true.

Nice find. This is a slap in the face to all of those people who thought you couldn't import your character from Dragon Age Origins. What did i say? I knew Bioware wouldn't abandon that feature in this game. The 5 all new party members sound interesting - but i wonder if any existing party members can come? Hopefully bioware will elaborate more on the details as the release date comes closer.

Right here though you can Pre Order it for 30 Bucks on Game stop PC verizon

http://www.gamestop....roduct_id=76845

And 39 bucks for the xbox360 and the PS3 verizon. I don't know why the price costs ten bucks more on the xbox360. I very much doubt that Bioware would be just upping the prices. I think it's more of the platform are charging extra money so they can get more money.

There is no other way to really explain it. I haven't seen anywhere how long it will last but you also have to consider your play time into account. Do you move slowly through the game or quickly. Depends on your deaths, time takes you finish storylines.

Average person, I don't know. What I do know is most likely we will be replaying it to see the other side of the moral choices. Consider 15 hours, if thats the estimated time and have it doubled. That's over a day worth of play time.

Everyone that I have seen with a registered game achivement's have at least two seperate orgins or people that they are leveling. Everyone most likely will get the replay factor. Tis Odd about Xbox260 and PS3 to charge 39 instead of PC 29 though

because its awesome and bioware is known for being awesome and doing awesome things like that.... awesome :)

anyway, i'm just saying "can happen" not that it will. For example Alistair is clearly not coming with the warden to the new fight, but he does appear.

She's right. You never know. For all we know Miss Morrigan could see the error of her ways. Take the male Gray Warden and her baby and they live in an apple field.

Crash, no I didn't just recently begin playing games. Sorry if my vocabulary (in terms of gaming) differs from yours. A whole new disc, A whole new set of quests and adventures, items, characters just to me seems like a new game not an expansion of the old one. The Arch Demon is dead and thats the end of the 1st game. Now the Darkspawn are still around and you are called on again. Its a whole new game. But thats just me, I don't care what its called. I am happy that I can start anew with an Orlesian, or import my Characters that I spent so much time building. And if I can re spec them and get new things for them, more the better.

So then Allister is not the companion brought back. Well, I may be speaking a bit too soon..but could it really be Morrgian. I know I said earlier that most likely she will be in Dragon Age 2. However if there is even a glimmer of hope that there is a secert "Favorite" companion.

Then I am casting my vote for her. When I first watched the youtube of it. I assumed Allister would be the companion, and he very well may be. He says 'I rather missed the whole darkspawn killing thing" and reunites with you. However if whatever reason that is not the case.

I'd have to wonder if Morrgan is it. Is they said any companion, I would be expecting any of them. However the fact they know she is so popular, and if not Allister. Who could be a favorite. Perhaps we shall start guessing untill we have more details on this.

sorry, i was being a bit mean
what i meant is that the name expansion pack has never denoted how the new content is implemented, seemlessly into the original or as a seperate thing. Nowadays however it does tell you that you can buy a retail version on a disc, while DLC means its downloadable (but it can be pretty long anyways, as shown by both episodes from GTA 4).

going back to the Baldurs gate example: in Baldur's Gate 2 you defeated that games big bad and everything was okay then, but then you could continue the story in the mostly seperate expansion Throne of Baahl (which still required you to have the original game, since it only expanded on that and reused a lot of things from the original game) where you had to deal with baahlspawn. Its basically the same thing.

why do you think that its possible to respec your characters? seems unlikely to me, since no old skills are removed nor changed

Crash Read this:

"Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening provides

exciting new ways for players to customize their heroes and party,

including the ability to re-spec their character attributes, allowing

even greater customization and replayability. Featuring an increased

level cap, new spells, abilities, specializations and items, plus five

all-new party members, players can continue their adventures from Dragon

Age: Origins, or begin with a brand new character.“"

well the trailer showed a red haired dwarf which might actually be Oghren, but while he was funny (thhehe...asschaps) i dont think you could consider him a favorite.

But really, it is most likely that its one of those that would hang around Ferelden/the Ferelden court, even if you died. and as far as i remember, Oghren, Zevran and Dog are the only ones who remain.
and of those Oghren is afaik the only one that doesn't for some reason die, disappear or never join the group

nice! i can finally get rid of that stupid dual wield skill without resorting to a mod.

Might be my thing, but I read the companion bit like this: there are 5 totally new optional party members and 1 who was populair in DA:O, but not recruitable... Jowan, Bann Teagan...? XD I'd pay the 30/40 bucks just for having Teagan romancable in my party >.> Or one of the other hotties, for that matter.... (...) ok ok, pixel crush, I admit XD

Ah well, I hope you can continue with the party you have at the end of the game (so that would be everyone minus Morrigan (and perhaps others depending on their choices). I just like to have as many people around me as possible XD

I guess Morrigan won't be a party member in these expension. She's still too busy with her own things I guess. I guess she'll play her part on the background.

Well true he could have said miss. However it doesn't tell his the context of the way he says it. He could say it as a reply to a question if he wants to join you "I rather Miss the whole darkspawn killing thing" Does that seem acceptable enough.

I'm not sure exactly where people are getting the idea he is the King. In that clip it showed nothing of him being a king, unless your choices directed it to be that way at the very end. Mine did not sadly enough. So he could still be a companion, I know not.

That could very well be the players char that is showing a clip of in the youtube video. The problem with trailors, they tell us very little in a minute and thirty seconds. We have to discover in what context they are meant to be said. Taken only bits and pieces of it.

1.) Allister could be King and not able to travel with you.

2.) He could be the old companion

3.) Neither 1 or 2

Untill more information is discovered. Based on what's known right now. Ogrhen story is no more interesting less or more then the average companion. It very well may be the char you are playing and it looks like him because he is short with red hair.

I doubt though would release who is in the trailor. However they already had Allister's voice all over it, so know that there is something to do with him. The main thing to consider will your choices affect the expansion.

If you had the werewolfs kill the elf's, will there be any elf's in the forest? If you decided to wipe the mage circle away. Will there be the Mari circle in the expansion. Many questions and few answers.
