I spared Loghain, made Anora lone ruler and Alistair ended up a bum. I like it that way ><

"Awakening". I guess we can expect there to be regularly a new expansion coming out. The trailer also makes the impression of a "Chapter One" narrative, nothing concluded.

I'm not sure exactly where people are getting the idea he is the King. In that clip it showed nothing of him being a king, unless your choices directed it to be that way at the very end. Mine did not sadly enough. So he could still be a companion, I know not.

he's being all kingly in the trailer talking about the security of ferelden and stuff. Of course its not really definitive proof that he is king in the trailer, but everything points to that. again, that doesn't mean that he will be King in your game. just in those that lead him to be king. theres no sense in contradicting your characters playthrough.

If you had the werewolfs kill the elf's, will there be any elf's in the forest? If you decided to wipe the mage circle away. Will there be the Mari circle in the expansion. Many questions and few answers.

there are still Dalish Elves in the forests, since the ones that you can wipe out are only one of the many clans. And probably a new mage circle is formed, because all those magic capable people have to go somewhere (or die).
but i don't think they will address that in the expansion

I just hope in this expansion Morrigan doesn't come back and yell at me for unpaid child support. She clearly said I would have nothing to do with the child and I was fine with that. I mean how many people are going to be all proud and say "Yeah that's my kid the one who is about to destroy Ferelden."

Allow me to clear up some things. Here is an earlier post by someone from Bioware on an earlier post and I quote.

"You mean a 1:38 trailer didn't spend its entirety showing all the permutations of how the story could be continued? What the heck, Bioware! Obviously, you didn't account for my ending, and the whole story is ruined, and forever after I will be unable to enjoy spring breezes, food will have lost all flavor, and there will no longer be joy in the world! HOW COULD YOU?"

Pretty much you can watch the trailer over and over again. Oh yes you can pause it at one minute and twenty seconds and try to assume. You can also think or not think that Allister is king or companion. However the cold hard true fact after reading this statment is..

Pretty much the obvious, we know nothing other then that clip. I have watched posts over most of the day over some people are being native and Allister is the King and only way it is. Well, that's not true. They have no information then us.

I admit when Bioware had that favorite companion would return and we saw Allister. We right away jumped to think a bunch of things, because in our minds it made sense. My advice is, don't assume anything. Every other thread who claims "dum dum..the new companion is" or "I know who it is" it's purely gossip.

I know I'm captain Obvious stating the obvious. However I don't think Bioware planned to release information on this, this soon. I believe it was leaked and it kicked started them to promote it. Why? Because of Mass Effect 2. However with the failed DLC

Now is as good time as any. I am going to live in self denial and believe Morrgian is the companion untill the expansion proves me otherwise.

I hope that I can take Alistair with me. In my epilogue we started to rebuild the Grey Wardens together, so it wouldn't make any sense for him NOT to join me in the expansion. I can live with it if he doesn't, I just hope that BioWare makes up a really really good excuse.

well of course Alistair wasnt going to be king no matter what. what we CAN know from the trailer is that Alistair CAN appear (if alive and not drunk) and a red haired dwarf will be in your party (or at least fight temporarily at your side)

no of course thats not possible based on the trailer, but some good ol' deduction work can help. to me through deduction (and yes that red haired dwarf in the trailer does help my suspicion) Oghren seems the most likely one, though this being biowares baby, they can twist the story however they want to get whatever companion they want into the expansion.

Why does everyone keep saying Alistair is King, Dead or Drunk?

Heck in my playthrough my character ended up Prince Consort to Anora, and Allistair is off to to help with the rebuilding of the Grey Wardens...

I let Alistair kill Loghain...

No one know's for sure that Allister is king. From what I can gather from the earlier posters. They said they assumed Allister was king because he sounded "Kingly" and started to explain everything that was going on. Though if that is the only proof then there is no hard proof to decide anything.

What I did discover, and unless I read it wrong. Everyone will be given a piece of land in the expansion. When I say everyone. I don't mean every NPC. Every PC, If you are an elf. Then I suppose you are king and racial tensions are high but they respect you because you are a grey warden.

If you are a noble, they will be more acceptable. It was in that interview with Bioware that said many details of the expansion but not all and if I'm reading that right then everyone will be placed in that situation. However many things we do not know.

What we do know is that there are five new companions and you are able to purse love interests, aside from the one that you played in Dragon Age Orgins. They compared it to Dragon Age and nearly said it was better with much richer moral choices and actions.

If someone knows the interview they did with IGN please post it in here. Either way, seem's like being able to be King (If thats true) seems like a very exciting turn of events

edited I found the interview link here, now you can draw your thoughts from that

Above is the link to a Q and A an interview into the release of the new expansion, published on Jan 6

Of course Alistair will be king. but only if he became that in your ending. Alistair will be whatever he was at the end of your playthrough. Just as the King will be whoever you chose. And as far as i understood the Warden can't be King, only prince-consort or whatever.

no, the Grey Wardens as a group are given a piece of land. Howe's Land Amaranthine. The Ferelden Grey Warden Commander is just the administrator (bann or teyrn or whatever) of the land.
But yes people will be a lot more acceptable of a Teyrn of noble blood.

JOsh is really 100% correct . Everything here is pure speculation and conjecture. None of us will really knwo until the game is released. For all we know Bioware is dead set on making Alistair a playable character again, but after months of seeeing what its fan base (= money) wants, Alistair could be come a regular player character.

For all you know they can easily take your PC's face etc, put it with alistair in the royal palace (assuming you married) and clearly show you that your characetrs are still together and in love satisfying the masses and not having to write a years worth of code.

Point is, lots of possibilities..and we really do not know anything.
