I want her alive the next time I play through My WHOLE Canon again (when I switch to play the Trilogy on the PS3). What do I have to do in order to make sure that she is NOT Flagged as Romanced?

Theres a couple of really obvious moments in ME1 where  taking an option will strongly move you into a romantic subplot with her. The futher you talk about her family the more obvious they become.

Basically if your name comes up in the vidcom chat with her sister, start looking for an obvious way out. Note that this doesn't mean you have to go RAWR IM ANGRY on her.

I always reloaded when that conversation appeared. What do I say?

I forget how the following convo goes for theat scene, but if you keep things professional between you, even after that, you should be fine.

To start a romance with her you basically need to keep hinting that you want 'break regulations', I don't think she'll trigger without you making those choices, like the one I edited in above.

Another reason why I reloaded was because I spoke to Liara before speaking to Ashley, so Ashley thought that I was interested in Liara.

Pretty sure she always says that, she takes a bit to warm up to our friendly blue stalker, I mean Liara.

I think that convo is in the same vein as talking to Kaiden(sp?) when she comes on board and you have an exchange where you question each other about potentially having a thing for her.

The only reason for this was so Ashley could compete with Miranda. No one is going to stick with Ashley from ME1 when compared to Miranda.

Its just simple biology

What? Speak for yourself on that one. I loved everything about Ash in ME1. If all you care about are women with perfect 10 bodies, then i guess in that case those people would go with Miranda. But a lot of men aren't like that, myself included. Sure i would love to have a perfect 10 girl, but if she has a bad personality then that's a huge turnoff for me. Miranda isn't a bad person, but i like Ashley's personality a lot more. Regardless i found Ash's looks and personality attractive in ME1, and even if she kept the same look in ME3, i would've rekindled my romance with her in a heartbeat.

@OP

I do like her new look in ME3, but i prefer the old Ash more, and the personality just wasn't there this time around. Chris L'Etoile wrote her character in ME1, but unforunately he wasn't involved in ME2&3, which explains why her character wasn't all that good in ME3.

This is what Ashley should've looked like in ME3:

She's always looked like a transvestite.

But I think she's been forgetting to take her pills by the time ME3 comes around.

Miranda has a great personality, she isn't a toadie for the Alliance like Ashley, she makes her own opinions of people, she is pragmatic and effiecient.  Her looks are just gravy.

Ashley repulses me in every way.

Are you kidding me? On top of looking almost nothing like before, she looks like she went in for about a dozen plastic surgeries... Bad ones. She's one of the most ugliest females in the ME series in ME3. She reminds me of Michael Jackson after his surgeries. Conversely, she looks really good in ME2, by the OP's own image.

What is this amatuer hour?

Not Michael Jackson, no, but I'll keep that joke off the forums.

And Ashley doesn't have her own opinions? She's well known for speaking her mind and not caring what anyone else thinks. That's always been a big part of her character.

On the contrary Ashley now looks like one of the hottest babes in ME. Her old look was just too frumpy and outdated.

Her ME2 appearance was probably the highlight of her retro look but given the direction ME was going she needed change.

As for your grotesque and trollish Michael Jackson comment well let''s not open that nasty can of worms you're dangling.

Ashey has no basis for her opinions on alien crewmates, xcept her granfather's experience.  Ashley is a tool of the Allaince, she has no backbone whatsoever and was perfectly willing to kill Shepard because she was ordered to.

I don't dislike the actual change as much as I dislike what the logic behind the change is. It's literally to put her on par with Miranda (funny enough, Miranda is still far better looking than Ash).

In ME1, I think as long as you avoid picking the paragon option or the left option when she brings up the "kissing turians" bit, you should be okay. I picked the neutral response that time and managed to avoid romancing her. You're in the clear as long as she keeps calling you sir at the end of the convo and her sister refers to Kaidan instead of you in the vid mail. Then again, I was romancing Liara for that playthrough so you might need to tell her she's out of line during the "aliens on the ship" convo after all.

Maybe. But her personality didn't. It got a lot worse.

The only reason it was done was so that people would go back to her after they finished with Miranda like BW intended. Which kinda sucks considering I was done with Ashley once she said I was a traitor to everything I stood for, just because I bothered to stand for what I believed in but wore a different jersey than her beloved alliance.

Ashley now looks like an angry gorilla. Or like an angry gorilla did plastic surgery on her face with his gorilla fists.

1 , No, not "everyone"  Ash's ME! look was great, hot without being oversexualized.  Perfect for a dedicated marine.

2 I see the Ash hate is out in force again.

True. It's just that her opinions are born from ignorance and racism. She doesn't understand the way the galaxy works, and she is a rather limited character.

Ashley lost the digital double-chin she had in the first two games and was given long hair next to a constant expression that she always has to take a #2.

Improvements on one front, gross on the other.

I never said all of her opinions were sound, but she has realistic flaws. She's not a mary sue like some other LIs might be, which is why i find her to be a compelling character.

Ashley is a tool of the Allaince, she has no backbone whatsoever

No backbone? She was ready to sacrifice herself so the mission would succeed on Virmire. Ashley pushed herself so incredible hard because in her mind she wanted to break the Williams curse. Are you even thinking about this before you say anything?

and was perfectly willing to kill Shepard because she was ordered to.

No she wasn't, unless you were a complete jerkoff to her throughout the first half of ME3, and Udina had doctured footage of you killing the Salarian councillor.

OR just be nasty to Ashley and leave Liara for last after Noveria and Feros.
