Ashey has no basis for her opinions on alien crewmates, xcept her granfather's experience.

I never said all of her opinions were sound, but she has realistic flaws. She's not a mary sue like some other LIs might be, which is why i find her to be a compelling character.

Ashley is a tool of the Allaince, she has no backbone whatsoever

No backbone? She was ready to sacrifice herself so the mission would succeed on Virmire. Ashley pushed herself so incredible hard because in her mind she wanted to break the Williams curse. Are you even thinking about this before you say anything?

and was perfectly willing to kill Shepard because she was ordered to.

No she wasn't, unless you were a complete jerkoff to her throughout the first half of ME3, and Udina had doctured footage of you killing the Salarian councillor.

So her baseless racism is compelling?

She is spineless.  She'd bend over backwards before admitting she agrees with Cerberus, but still hates them because......  She is a shill for the Alliance

And she pointed a gun at a superior officer and friend becuase she doesn't trust Shepard.  I would kill her there, but in most of my playhtorughs she doesn't get past Virmire.

They still should have gave her a ponytail and more heavy/medium armor for alternate appearances

And Ashley doesn't have her own opinions? She's well known for speaking her mind and not caring what anyone else thinks. That's always been a big part of her character.

True. It's just that her opinions are born from ignorance and racism. She doesn't understand the way the galaxy works, and she is a rather limited character.

Must not be dragged into this...

Frick fine

It's not racism/blind hate. It's distrust based on family and personnal experience.

There is a difference and it's easily seen when she explains her background. In ME1 she just didn't want Shepard to get burned for trusting people, who to her, had given no reason to be fully trusted. Except maybe Garrus.

You can argue that Shepard is a Spectre all you want, but is it really so illogical to think that maybe there just might be a problem with letting unknowns onto a proto-type military vessel and letting them walk around freely? Or that a government that hasn't always had the Alliance's back will pull through when we need it to? That's what the dog and master quote was refering too, not some deep seeded hatred for all things non human.

You can also see her get along perfectly fine with the others in elevator rides, and such, even if she does lose her temper when they go off on tangents during meetings.

Ashley looks like another Mass Effect Barbie doll in ME3. Like it was mentioned above, like she went to several plastic surgeons. It seems EA/BioWare just loves to market the game to the horny teenage boy market with over the top hollywoodized “perfect 10” looking women in their games than more realistic ones. Sex sells, it’s a marketing thing and common practice to bad its used to often.

Ashley is demonized by immature Mass Effect fans as a racist bible-thumping Jesus freak b**** because it decomplexifies her.

To stereotype her is both easier and more compatible with what some fans think a young woman in a futuristic space-exploration settting "should be". Namely that such a person should be atheist, passive, and completely trust of all aliens. This mindframe makes it very difficult to actually engage in any sort of discussion regarding religion or "racial politics" in a near-future space setting.

Double chin?

The biggest difference between old Ashley and the newer ones is lower body fat.

Lip gloss, a new hairstyle, and a sleeker new armor is just accentuating what was there.

She doesn't agree with Cerberus, you just pulled that out of your *** unless you're grossly misinterpreting something she said, whereas since you think she's a racist, i wouldn't be surprised.

And she pointed a gun at a superior officer and friend becuase she doesn't trust Shepard.  I would kill her there, but in most of my playhtorughs she doesn't get past Virmire.

She was a Spectre and the same rank as Shepard. He wasn't a superior officer. Walk away dude, you aren't coming up with a compelling arugment here.

Frivolus superstitions such as religion should have die out by ME's time frame.

Why doesn't she agree with Cerberus? She believes in human advancement and is not afrid to shed alien blood if necessary.

Ashley and Shepard were both SPECTREs but Ashley is only a lietutenat Commander (an entirely different matter that I won't go into) Shepard is a Commander, he out ranks her.

I love these threads, oh so, so, much.

May I point out that our favourite blue alien race has a goddess, that those salarian dudes have a cult like worship or belive in something that mirrors hinduism and do I even need to mention the Hanar?

Apparently its fine for them to have religion, but not futuristic humans.

Shepard is a Lt. Commander. He's just never called that.

Yeah the way her face is drawn and the way she talks, she has a little 'blubber' so to speak, under her chin. in ME3 her jawline was trimmed up and she is far more chisled.

Probably, however the boob window doesn't seem bad when compared to that blue condom she walks around in.

Sorry Ash fans, I really hate her character. I always kill her. Her views are incompatible with the way the universe works in my opinion. And she is unapologetic in a way that gets under my skin. I have no sympathy for her or her family.

If not on Virmire, I kill her on the Citadel.

Don't take it offensively. One of my best friends on here is a diehard Ashmancer.

I wouldn't, all they had to do after that was give her three more armor.sets instead of what she has now for Alt. Outfits

Tbh the boob window wouldn't bother me all that much. I think it's sexy without being too sexy if ya know what i mean. If she had a Power Girl sized window, then yea. That's a problem.

[/quote]  Shepard is a commander.  You can see the ranks in the codex.  Commander is ahead of Lieutenant Commander.

And Cerberus isn't evil.  They are ruthless and pragmatic, not exactly morally upright but they get sh*t done, unlike the Alliance.

Liara actually explains that Asari religion is not monotheistic anymore 'by the goddess, is more of an expression tha anything else"  The Salarians believe in reincarnation, not a diety, and the Hanar are idiots

He's a Lt. Commander. Ask anyone on the BSN.

As for Ceberus being evil. Sanctuary was one of the most vile, disturbing and unforgivable things i've ever seen a group of people do.
