@KiwiQuiche - My first thought when seeing Ash in 3 was why did you goto Joan Rivers plastic surgeon?
I'm just not seeing the big deal. The era of Mario is over. Nearly all male video game protagonists are practically male models nowadays. Hell bro Shep actually is one. I've noticed female gamers have a bigger issue with sexualizing characters and yet when it comes to eye candy they enjoy it's just assumed to be ok. I'm not singling you out here just something I've noticed.
Sorry, but I was seeing that. She appeared as more eye-candy (all plasticy looking) in 3 to me, not that her personality didn't take a hit either and I'm not feeling singled out.

However, I do agree that a military, ala ME1-2 look, would have been preferred.
Honestly, I hear complaints about the Asari outfit, too. No real bare chested men, well, I guess, except for Thane. Sort of.
Somebody needed to have James Vega running around the shuttle hanger without a shirt on. To be fair. Alternatively, slap a pair of leather chaps on Garrus. Go crazy.

Justified in that he's medically recommended to expose his chest to stimulate oxygen flow...or somesuch. I'm sure that was the *only* reason. Nevermind that Thane was specifically designed to be an LI...

This. Even though Ashley isn't my Love Interest, that is very insulting.

If you are going to dislike Ashley come up with a better reason than, she looks like a transvestite.
Well, there is also the fact that she went from pragmatic, professional soldier to whining, b*tching unprofessional...whatever she is in ME3.

The catsuit doesn't make any sense for combat, and if that is supposed to be an Alliance uniform, how come we see no one else wearing that during the game? Ashley's default outfit on the Normandy should have been the same Alliance utilities that we see Traynor wearing.
That being said, I also think people made too big of a fuss about the catsuit. Most of the people raging about it prior to ME3's release were demanding she return in Phoenix armor, despite the fact that the Phoenix armor is just as ridiculous as the catsuit. The Phoenix armor isn't an Alliance uniform, and a white and pink color scheme is hardly tactical. One of the first things I do on Eden Prime in ME1 is get Ashley in that Scorpion armor you find in one of the crates.
