Because it means that your teammates are as good or better than you.

Although I suppose getting 1st by a very small margin would have the same effect.

I love getting outscored. I can pull off gold solos with some weird builds, so if I am on a team where I'm not the top then I'm smilin'.

Or it means they screwed around more during objective waves.

I like getting outscored, as long as it's not by a huge amount (e.g. more than double) because it means I'm playing with some very good players, and we will have an incredibly smooth run. Here's an example:

Sometimes I don't mind because it allows me to relax and not have to be on edge to keep the team alive.

If I bump into someone who's doing really well (we're talking 2x the score of everyone else), after a few matches I get curious and I will bring my best character and gear and see how I fare against that person.

I lost my competitive streak long ago. In the Doom II days, I was a blood thirsty fraggin' machine. Now, I find it a lot more fun to work together and banter with teammates. Other than platinum, I don't crank it up until the enemy really starts to pressure us.

I just don't like finishing last because that usually means I wasn't paying attention at all.

"Enjoy" being outscored? No, especially with my favorite characters. I do like having smooth games with everyone contributing to the team but I will try to kill the enemy as fast as possible. Except for certain situations/objectives when it is best to not kill the enemy.

I only like getting outscored when I am playing a class or using a setup that is not a better option in comparison to theirs on the map / enemy we are fighting.

Getting outscored while using my favorite class on platinum is like an automatic invite to S.p.E.c.T.R.E. X though or atleast a FR.

This one cares not when outscored, only if said player did not interfere with Its enemies.

Otherwise, this one is the outscorer.

I prefer everyone to get roughly the same score, but whatever. 'Course, I always get outscored, and feel horribly useless, when playing with the likes of Cold, Balkan, Ashen, or Biggs.

If I'm being outscored it means I'm on a really good team, which suits me just fine

Your girlfriend who goes to a different school is very impressed.

I like it when everyone is somewhat even.  If I'm 2nd or 3rd in a silver round, that's where I like to be.

It doesn't happen often, but I love it when it does, even if I'm teleporting around the host's game. Very easy, quick, usually painless games.

If its because someone I'm playing with is terrific, then not at all. If it's because I'm really sucking, then yeah, it annoys me, because I know I could/should be doing better and/or I'm frustrated that the kit I'm trying isn't working out.

That said, I have absolutely different expectations for silver and gold. If I'm not in the top two of silver (and with a good showing either way), I feel awful, but with gold, I don't really care where I am on the scoreboard as long as I'm pulling my weight and putting up a respectable score.

I don`t really care, one way or another. As someone who`S just now moving up to Gold, I learned that you can actually be at the bottom of the score and still be a valuable player in the match; be it by playing medic, helping with the objectives or watching other players back.

Sometimes a chain overload can save the neck of the only other guy alive in a wave, even if HE, and not you, gets 3 kills afterwards.

I also discovered that I learn much more about the game by playing with people better than me.
