1) Score doesn't indicate player skill. It just indicates who got to the enemies first and who is using a higher DPS build.
2) Yes, I do enjoy being outscored, it means I didn't do all the work since score is a point system based on a (terrible) kill/assist relationship.
3) You can be the best player in the world and Unless your name is Jay you can still be outscored by a good player if they happen to use an Infiltrator whilst you're running the FQI or Volus Sentinel.

EDIT - Just read through 2 in my head. That came out abit wrong, I meant it in cotext of the average PUG which usually score about 20-30k a piece in most of my games.

Also, FQI? What's wrong with the FQI's damage output?

What I really love is the moment when a pug team starts behaving like a real team...

On topic: I used to build my friends list like that. Every time someone outscored me or got very close, they got an invite. Sadly, by now I have a very OP list and have to work real hard even to be last...

I love these score threads. Such a high amount of modesty and BS all grouped together.

P.S....If you're nuking spawns and boasting about your high score, please let us all know so we can all point and laugh....thank you.

Nuking spawns doesn't only get done with cobras.

Just saying.

Oh I know they dont, just pointing out why score means nothing when you are blowing up entire enemies in one stroke. All for you, none for noone else.

Seen them all, but a snap freeze spawn nuke would be pretty sweet.

Imagine if we could wager credits for top score.

Yes, seeing as it rarely happens. (When pugging, obviously. )

Couldn't care less about score. I prefer playing as what some might call a "support" character anyway, as long as we get the credits I don't mind. If I'm busy staggering things and my teammate finishes them off, I don't mind. He might have got instakilled anyway if it wasn't for me.

The only thing that bugs me is missile glitchers or player who don't even try to help with the objectives.

Just for the record, anyone who is not in first place, would be considered a 'support' character.

i am pretty much always 2nd or 3rd so i always get outscored by someone! I feel a bit upset if i come last (but someone has to!). I worry if i come first, it means i must have been playing with some useless people.

Yesterday in a u/u/s lobby, we got collectors. Normally i look at score board each wave, to see if im keeping pace with others, and to make sure no one has dropped out of the game. I didnt bother looking, i was just happy we finished the match with little damage (wave 10 was a bit hard, and extraction almost went FUBAR, a possessed abomination and a normal one both detonated in the LZ and all of us died but we still all extracted).

I generally prefer to come in a moderate second or barely first, and start to seriously worry if I get a good sized lead. I think, for me, it's a balance between feeling useful and feeling like no one has my back. In general, I feel like the kit/level/weapons everyone brings should give me a general sense of where everyone should place, assuming everyone pulls their weight. Most of the time I middle-score, and that's fine with me. Any day without a sync-kill or a disconnect is a great day, in my book. :)

Outscored doesn't not equate to better than or knowledged. I've seen plenty of noobies by Kroguard, Shadow, NovaGuard, Demolisher or Destroyer and get top score. Those are button mashing characters. They will also play the OP characters because they lack skill to play the others decently, so they compensate for that. They are usually the ones you are yelling at to get in the hack circle or stop pressing the Hazard map button.

No sir. Top score does NOT mean better.

BS. None of the classes are hard to play. None. Vanguards are just as technical as any other class. You button mash as a vanguard you'll die. A noobie with the classes you mentioned shouldn't be topping the charts with other highly skilled players in the game.

I see ya'll get real testy when I lump Guards in there. *chuckles politely* I stand by my statement. Each character has their own degree of advantages and disadvantages. If that weren't true, then you would hear people say certain ones are OP, some noobie-friendly, and wouldn't see 'how to solo gold/plat the easy way" guides. I never said those characters aren't effective in highly-skilled hands. I am inferring that they don't require the same degree of difficulty to master. They shouldn't be topping "highly-skilled" players, but it happens none the less.

I guess this is one of those "we'll just have to agree to disagree" moments.

Hmm, generally i would have to say no. In my mind it doesn't matter what game it is, if you're not first then it means someone else is better and so i'd take that as a cue to step it the f**k up. [Unless of course, i'm testing out a new kit or using something which i know i'm not particularly good with]

Having said that, if you're referring soley to ME3 mp, i suppose i'd say it doesn't bother me as much as other online mps but i wouldn't say i'd be happy about it.

For any game, the primary aim is to win and the secondary aim is to win well, whether that means going flawless or doing it in a fast time. Scoring high doesn't always represent how much effort you put into the win (especally if it's objective based), just that you went to town on killing enemies.

I like getting outscored, as long as it's not by a huge amount (e.g. more than double) because it means I'm playing with some very good players, and we will have an incredibly smooth run. Here's an example:

Well, I do like it... and usually try to find the best player among the group randoms and follow them like a loose tail, my score might not be as high as theirs, but we clear stuff the others die in, cause the "best player" can go down and gets right back up again... it's significant cause I try to survive without going down at all and we get the credits we deserve.

Doesn't happen often with my usual kits, I don't mind it one bit when I'm on a kit I don't play often however, it means I likely won't have to carry with something I'm not as comfortable with. Can't remember the last time I was outscored playing with most soldiers or pretty much any infiltrator, but the fury (as an example)? I can usually keep up with the top scores of the match but I won't be setting any records any time soon.

I play Fury on Gold/Platinum. In probably the last 200 games I've played, I've been outscored twice, once by a known elite player and the other by a truly skilled player using a Huntress on the first day she came out. Impressive. I'm not saying this to stroke my e-peen - just to say that the Fury is capable of topping gold/platinum scoreboards in PUG games pretty easily. Truly top players seem to be absent from most PUG games, or I'm sure I wouldn't be the score leader like 99% of the time. I absolutely did not mind that someone else topped my scores in those two games. In fact, it wouldn't bother me one bit if it happened very often.

The only time I don't like getting outscored if it's by a huge margin and I'm at the bottom. I feel like I haven't done my best and I was a detriment to team and not a help. The only time it doesn't bother me is when I'm playing a Volus and being super support.
