This. So much this.

I think I wrote a post a while back expressing that the scoring system, particularly the medals awarded, is really counterproductive to the rest of the multiplayer's design. While "assists" are a catch-all for every damage action that isn't a kill, killing enemies gets a general medal, medals for each category of kill, and even medals for killing several enemies simultaneously with a missile or grenade.

The only other medal is for reviving teammates a certain number of times. Don't get me wrong, this is a great medal. There just needs to be waaaaaaaaay more medals for cooperative actions, like detonating someone else's explosions, shooting enemies attacking teammates, drawing fire, draining shields, weakening armor, etc etc so that players get positive feedback to reinforce cooperative play.

Oh, and medals/points awarded (besides credits/bonus credits) for people who help with the objectives. That would be huge too.

i frequently get kill streaks with grenades in spawns. I get lots of points in doing it, but the idea is to take out enemies before they get to my team mates. Score is not a good indicator alone of how much value someone is to the team.

I get outscored mostly. Sometimes i dont know where the enemies are and sometimes i die. I used to cry over it before but now i have realized i am just getting great teammates. They get the job done and revive me.

A good example is a team mate that plays a Volus.  I had a friend last night playing one.  I was tearing away at the bosses and he was right behind me spamming the shield boost.  Regardless of the score at the of the match, those points were obtained by team work, not just me.

I only like getting outscored when I am playing a class or using a setup that is not a better option in comparison to theirs on the map / enemy we are fighting.

Getting outscored while using my favorite class on platinum is like an automatic invite to S.p.E.c.T.R.E. X though or atleast a FR.

Don't know... never though to ask the people who regularly come 2nd, 3rd and 4th in my games.

[/in case it wasn't clear: kidding]

When my son outscores me, I ruffle his hair. When I outscore him, he thinks I'm his awesome dad. When someone else outscores us both, and they helped with objectives I congratulate them on mic after the match.

I usually dont mind, but if im on top, or even second or third, and the guy below me starts spamming launchers at bosses to top my score i get pissed. ive met some good players off of BSN, and enjoy playing with them, and they (unlike half the PUG players ive talked to while playing) dont give a crap about score. they even let me use my volus engie :D

If I'm being outscored it means I'm on a really good team, which suits me just fine

Pretty much what these two said. I tend to play with a group of friends, so as long as we extract and I feel I've pulled my weight, I dont mind whether I'm top or bottom

I love getting outscored. It shows my team mates know how to get them points.

Sadly there are very few Volus on PUGs and I'm always happy to see one in the lobby. Selfless and mostly good players that really help the team out.
Lacking a mic, I wish the game had a *thumbs up* button in the lobby instead of just *kick* (or, you know, a f*cking text chat -.-), cause I'd really like these Volus players to know that their work is highly appreciated, no matter the score.

For the titled question, I would not "enjoy getting outscored," no. I can enjoy a game with a great team where I played good yet was outscored, but then I am enjoying good company rather than simply not scoring as well as another player.

I don't have performance issues in ME3, yet I just don't care enough to fully master this game, Platinum ready, all classes at level 1 with common weapons. It's, quite frankly, not a worthy calling. I will still try to play as well as everyone else, because as the duel saying went, "you get better by playing against better players," which can still manifest in ME3 in rivalries.

On a per match basis, if I have time to wonder how well I'm doing comparatively, then I will attempt to place first. If on the other hand the match is challenging without adding any personal goals, then a surprise is always refreshing. However, if I am to be outscored, I prefer to anticipate that possibility early on after observing another player's high productivity. If I played like crap, whether for my own mistakes or some uncontrollable factor, then I probably won't like the match at all anyways.

Finally, if I played up to my performance standard but was still outscored by a more productive class, then I must accept my limitation with that class in that specific situation. For example, I remember I once outscored an obviously highly capable veteran player who then turned around and played a more technically able class than me in next match. I couldn't help being outperformed, and the guy clearly wanted it. [/cool story]

I love these score threads. Such a high amount of modesty and BS all grouped together.

P.S....If you're nuking spawns and boasting about your high score, please let us all know so we can all point and laugh....thank you.

I nuke spawns with grenades and a sniper, come at me.

Hahahahaha, you amass all those points in one place AND brag you are always first and super uber scorer and always lead the boards....HAHAHAHAHAHA

Next.....

There is no place but one place, get outscored narb.

lol, I wanted to say something, but the last statement is too rational to ignore.

I don't mind. It's something i've gotten used to since joining the AHF. I'm frequently last (Once got 128k, still last) occasionally 3rd and on my real "in the zone" days I may fluke a rare 2nd. Never been top yet. Really couldn't care less about score though as long as I enjoyed the match, feel I did my bit and the mission is successful.

the two best players on my friends list don't use mics either Image IPB

would love to see a way to provide positive feedback in the lobbies, that would be awesome! Sometimes I just send a msg to players to tell them great game.
