No it was Bioshock fallowed by Mario galexy. Cod4 just sold the most.

as I've said, many publications select a game of the year. I know for a fact that several chose COD4 and then ME1 runner up. What publication were you referring to?

Edit: sorry....didnt know we were solely speaking of GI

GI did give bs Game of the year but I wasnot just refering to them. I'm taking about the majority. The majority gave it to Bioshock. ME1 wasnot even runner up, the year had way too many good game for it to be runner up.

That's a good thing. Having it have a point was a flaw in ME1 and 2. People complained about all the time. ME is not black and white in it's morality. The fix made what it was inteneded to be, grey.

Ign is one thing. But I don't think they were bribed to pick Portal 2 as game of the year last year.

Wow, just wow.

I really don't think a game that retcons the lore and ruins replayability for a lot of the fanbase should've won, but I do admit that Mass Effect 3 features a lot of technical excellence in regards to gameplay.  It's just the writers being changed and the lack of oversight on the final mission writing that really trolled the fanbase.

Yeah man, the renewed focus on rpg elements was never so apparent between fetch quests and auto dialogue. And the consequences of your actions, I'm still reeling from that one. Especially the Rachni man, those war assets for the queen and those workers. Huge man, huge. And what a payoff in the end. Surviving a blast from a laser blast that cuts through dreadnoughts, limp your way to talking down Tim, meeting the reaper off-switch and dying. Epic, absolutely epic.

*shrug* whatever, I have as much right to dislike it as they have to love it. GI's GOTY pick reflects the opinions of some people and some people only. I'll take BL2 over ME3 any day.
