Bioware has traditionally put more emphasis on the PC versions

Not really.  The only game since NWN  that was PC focused was DAO.  Everything else has been console ports.

The game will be released on all platforms at the same time. Bioware develops its games on the PC and then ports them to the consoles. I do not see that changing. Also given that the next gen will be no more than glorified PC's in a box I am not worried.

The other point is justifying a release on the PC first when their biggest market is the consoles.
In the release of a game timing is everything. Wait to long to release the game on a particular platform after releasing on another can lose sales.

Take for example Witcher 2 EE on the Xbox. Sales on the PC were good. Sales on the Xbox were not so good. The lag in time between the two releases did not help CDProjectK in terms of sales. The Xbox version may have made more money if released at the same time. The lack of a PS3 version is even more telling.

This is not true, aside from DAO, every game since KOTOR has been a console port.

PCs will always be more powerful and diverse, I'm afraid.

What I was saying is that once consoles are no longer actually different, there would be no such thing as a console port. The problem is not that studios are typically just too lazy to give their game a fancy PC UI and a needlessly more complex series of interact buttons, but that the games are made using console dev kits and then shoved into the PC SDKs at the last moment. That won't be a thing anymore.

As far as UI and control goes, I think you'll find that BioWare doesn't usually do crappy console ports. Last time I checked, the DA series has a different UI for PC.

As long as it has controller support, I will be happy with the PC version.

Controller on PC why Keyboard and mouse are so much better

I disagree, mostly because I find keyboard and mouse slow and uncomfortably to use.

I play Skyrim with a Xbox controller and will never play it with mouse and keyboard again.

Its still going to be an issue, though the hardware may be increasingly similiar, the firmware side of matters will remain drasticly different, which will still mean using console dev kits and then shoving it into PC SDKs at the last moment.

Though Bioware is better than some when it comes to ports they still occasionally suffer from a severe case of "can't be arsed to do it right" syndrome, such as the PC port of ME3, which can be summed up in two words, software antialiasing.

You are correct, but the ports are from the Xbox which is basically at its core a PC being based on the Intel Pentinum III Coppermine processor with a custom Windows architecture. The biggest difference being controller and graphic resolution.

Seriously? That's fantastic, thanks for clarifying!

Mass Effect 2 and 3 didn't not to mention the crappy fov and still no chatbox so I can't communicate because I'm mute even though a there was a chat in the beta.

ME3 does, the hotkey bar and paused power select menus are entirely different on console and PC. I've also been using Origin chat for MP recently, and the game is really poorly suited to text chat, besides, PCs have origin's chat, and consoles don't normally have keyboards.

Bioware's ports are slightly above average at best. Giving it a somewhat different UI (really just in-game UI, menus and everything are identicle) doesn't make it much better really. Outside of that the mass effect games are virtually the exact same game that's on console right down to the unscalable texture quality. At least DA2 had an HD texture pack and some DX11 settings. But the game was so horribly optimized you have to have absolute top line hardware to actually run it all with stable frame rate. Its kind of sad I can run BF3 (a FAR more graphically intense game) almost maxed with smooth 60fps while if I ran DA2 maxed I get choppy 30fps average (as in it frequently drops well below that in combat).

I really hope Bioware are able to successfully use frostbite to get the same fantastic optimization that BF3 had.

Mass Effect 2 was a horrible port. No double click in menus, no mouse wheel scroll in menus, forced mouse acceleration, FOV of 70, space bar does everything, low-res textures straight from the Xbox 360. Mass Effect 3 was a bit better as a port, especially in menu navigation, but an FOV of 70 and the low-res textures are still unacceptable.

You can only use Origin chat to talk to people in your friends list and you have to switch to the Origin overlay everytime you want to type or read a message. There really should be an in-game chat.
