They really need to make a Priority Earth Expansion DLC with the Suicide Mission mechanic, involving assigning War Assets and ME2/ME3 squadmates.....

That Jack dialogue has so much potential. I could almost picture it. I can only imagine what other dialogue was cut from Priority Earth

I don't get it, what's so controversial about that Ashley dialogue? Shepard says he doesn't remember anything, or he saw nothing. So it doesn't set anything in stone, doesn't side with any one of the multitude of variations of any belief system in the world. It doesn't mention any kind of spiritual experience at all, it's just  *dying-blank-wake up in Cerberus base*, so it shouldn't ruffle the feathers of atheists either. It's a good way out of the issue, in my opinion.

Well, I suppose there are people who get offended by the mere fact that a character dares ask a belief-related question, but in that case, let me just back away slowly...

besides its based on a fictional universe where evolution its proved by Javik, and the fact that there are aliens basically goes against many Human religions so who cares, its not real its fiction, why would there be any controversy

Wow, even just written dialogue, it was pretty powerful. And why were they afraid to put that in there? They already took a chance in ME1 with Ash being religious.

about the Ashley dialogue, I think someone mentioned this on the previous page....but, I think they cut it because talking about that stuff is a fine line with "some" people, and Bioware probably didn't wanna step on any toes. I know, I don't see what the big deal is either....but people have complained about smaller, more irrelevant things.

I'm a hardcore Mass Effect and Bioware fan... But even I don't understand WHY THE HELL would they cut something like this??? The hell with controversy! They have made controversial stuff before!
Shepard's conversation with the reaper in Rannoch should have been this way:

Shepard: But why? Why would they cut that out?!

Reaper: Is not a thing you can comprehend

But they keep same sex relationships cause those won't cause any controversy. I thought they were well done and I liked them but that caused ALOT of controversy. I have nothing against them adding it but to say they didn't want controversy and then add it is just dumb I think

Wow they took grunt out. I understand Jacob cause he wasn't liked but I don't understand grunts

The Anderson dialogue was likely cut because it contained lore errors. In Anderson's cut dialogue he tells Shepard that his great regret is not having had a family, but that is incorrect. In LotSB it is revealed that Anderson has a son with his ex-wife Cynthia.

Still, its a shame they didn't bring back Keith David to redo those lines while they were making the Extended Cut. They could have altered the line where he talks about his own family to state that he regrets that he lost his family, not that he never had one.

The isn't Anderson son.  It's his ex-wife's son with her new husband.  His divorce in the book Revelations.

Page 99,  Anderson is talking to his lawyer.  "I know this isn't much consolation right now, but just be glad you two didn't have any children."

Its a shame they took it out. I always felt Ash was one quality scene away from being properly fleshed out in ME3 (like Liara or Garrus)

This should've been it, especially because she is the only human who has shown interest in faith/spirituality/after-life, a facet of her personality that was totally ignored in ME3 and yet shaped her character in ME1.

Because people get bent out of shape about the BS that they believe in. I agree, they should have left it in. It fits perfectly with Ashley's character and perfectly with the ME universe, which has forced the player to think about other controversial subjects - such as whether synthetic life is equivalent to organic life and whether the genophage is morally acceptable. It baffles me that they thought religion was "off limits".

A wise man once said, "with the same certainty that I know another man's religion is folly, leads me to suspect that my own is also". I firmly believe that if more people had that point of view, the world would be a way better place.
